It's probably the retirees and economic migrants who come to live cheaper in Thailand. They are nice to Thai people who are also very nice to them, love the warm weather, beaches, fruits, and contribute a small amount to the Thai economy. It all turns sour and they become bitter if they expect to be put on a pedestal and be worshipped like they heard about natives being subservient to their colonial Masters.

The new rules will also address the specific conditions for foreign nationals seeking to obtain or renew their Thai driving licenses, as per the existing 2022 regulations. The key provisions of the draft announcement include: Temporary driver’s license: Applicants cannot use an international driving permit as evidence for obtaining a temporary driver’s license. Foreign nationals seeking temporary licenses: If a foreign applicant uses a valid foreign driver’s license for the same vehicle type, they will still be required to take the written test (previously exempted from the written and driving tests). The license will remain valid for two years, as before. The use of a foreign-issued driver’s license, which is still valid, or an international driving permit under agreements to which Thailand is a party, will no longer be accepted as evidence for obtaining a personal driver’s license. Crime Thai Man Confesses to Murder of Neighbour, Cites External Influence
saakura replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
If a man or a woman had been murdered instead of a tranny, the article would have still mentioned that 'a man (or woman) was murdered'. So I do not see your point. -

Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
saakura replied to dbrenn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am quite sure that there will be no more interview. Next step is to take an oath of loyalty to the country & Monarchy. But let someone else also confirm this. I was also in the same MOI interview on 30th Aug 2024. Now 9 months have gone by without any further progress and I am also getting a bit worried. My journey to citizenship started almost 15yrs ago by preparing to first apply for a PR. Took a few years to get the PR. Then being on PR for 5yrs to be eligible to apply for citizenship. Applied in 2019 and now waiting for the last step. -

He was put in a 'single cell' at Phra Khanong police station on 26th March. And left there to die of hunger & thirst? Or what happened? It is all so confusing. -
What a horrible thing to do to a small street side hawker who is just trying to make a living. They did not seem in any way to aggravate this foolish man.

How did your dad influence your life
saakura replied to Harrisfan's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I will always miss my dad who passed away at the age of 94. Simple hardworking man with no bad habits, he always did his best for the family. Along with mum, they carefully controlled all unnecessary expenditure and wisely spent the money on giving us all a good education. I remember the day when I proudly handed over my first salary to him. He handed it back and taught me to save a part of each month's salary for the future, which I still do. -

"At approximately 14:40 the same day, an unidentified Black male handed Khunakon the luggage and instructed him to deliver it to a domestic courier company in Songkhla province." How stupid of him to accept parcels from an unknown person? -
I am sure they all knew it very well a long time ago and he must have been on treatment which was not successful. Such matters are not disclosed to the public until there is a need.
