I would recommend any of these 3 Phulay Bay, a Ritz‑Carlton Reserve Banyan Tree Krabi, Tan Kaek Beach Dusit Thani Krabi, Khlong Mueang Beach All have spectacular ocean view rooms, swimming pools and all amenities within the resort.

Some of the world's best parks (Lumpini, Benjakitti, Suan Rot Fai, Bang Nam Phueng etc.), widest variety of the best cuisine & wine from all over the world, a fantastic MRT & BTS passenger commute system, theatres (Ratchadalai, M-theatre etc), 20 or more British & IB curriculum schools, amazing variety of shopping malls, Grand temples, friendly locals, world class coffee shops, very safe etc. In fact, all of my business visitors from all over the western world envy us working in Bangkok office buildings like One Bangkok, Dusit Central, Mahanakorn etc. The traffic is as bad as in any big metropolitan city, the footpaths are very badly maintained, the roads have many patchwork repairs. I don't visit so I won't comment on shady redlight areas & bars.
