Thailand May Ease Overseas Income Tax Rules Amid Global Changes
WorriedNoodle replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What did you pay in previous years? I paid nothing, and plan to carry on doing so until some one of authority tells me I need to, but I doubt they ever will. -
BBC with a brutal takedown of Ukrainian hopes
WorriedNoodle replied to theblether's topic in The War in Ukraine
Of course I did. Here's a summary : The leaders of the United States and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, had a constructive phone call regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine. The call resulted in a lowering of tensions, but it may come at the expense of Ukraine's security and borders. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that there will be no US troops or NATO membership for Ukraine, and it is unlikely to regain its pre-2014 borders. The US wants an early end to the war and sees it as Europe's problem to solve. Further details of the US peace proposals may emerge at the Munich Security Conference. Surely you realize the BBC is a news organization and simply reports what others are saying. -

You seem to be misunderstanding that this is the news in the link you sent. Its not the BBC putting the boot in as you say, its the US govt. -
US Aid Freeze Linked to Refugee's Death at Thai Border

That anyone would fall for this propaganda ( https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/02/at-usaid-waste-and-abuse-runs-deep/ ) on a White House gov home page is astounding. The page is full of links to third party conspiracy sources. -

Trump Revives Plan to Build $100 Million White House Ballroom
WorriedNoodle replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Donald Trump is not exactly known for his witty sense of humor. His “jokes” are often mean-spirited and directed at other people, which isn’t a hallmark of a great comedian or humorist. A real sense of humor requires self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to laugh at oneself, all qualities that Trump seems to lack. This isn’t to say he’s completely humorless; he certainly enjoys laughing at the expense of others, but that’s not the same as genuine comedic ability. -
Trump Revives Plan to Build $100 Million White House Ballroom
WorriedNoodle replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This “joke” could be seen as an expression of authoritarian tendencies. The idea of a president approving a plan for the White House by himself, without any checks or balances, is not in line with American democratic principles. It’s true that the president does have significant power under the executive branch, but they’re still subject to the other branches of government and the Constitution. Those who love the idea of a dictator will find it funny? Do you think its funny? -
Why would I need an excuse at extension time! 🙂 So now you are deflecting the tax authorities role to that of immigration office? This is laughable. I sign and hold up forms with a mug shot acknowledging my commitments that the IO clearly writes out for me every annual extension of stay at the IO and I am damned sure it never mentioned anything about tax and I wouldn't expect them to - they are not tax officers after all : -)

Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket

AI stories can be as dramatic as ones requests. This reads as pure fantasy and likely never happened. -
Says a lot. To appreciate a leader who goes full political agenda campaign mode during a tragedy, blaming a president from more than eight years ago along with his recent nemesis for the accident, when families across all political spectrum and ethnic diversities are grieving over the loss of their loved ones and wanting answers.

Like when in 2016, former FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress about the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server just before the presidential election, which some saw as unfairly damaging Clinton's candidacy? That doesn't seem very biased to the left does it?

I'd rather go to Wikipedia to pull facts than the source you chose of the Daily Mail. Larry Sanger’s (who left in 2002?) views could certainly be biased themselves. Sanger is known to have strong libertarian and conservative political views, and that could color his perception of Wikipedia as being biased. Also, it's important to remember that Wikipedia’s bias may not be monolithic. The site is edited by thousands of volunteers from different backgrounds, so the biases that Sanger perceives might be only partial and not represent the whole of Wikipedia’s content.

Wikipedia describes Kirsch as follows: >>Steven Todd Kirsch is an American entrepreneur. He has started several companies and was one of two independent inventors of the optical mouse. Kirsch has been both a philanthropic supporter of medical research, and a promoter of misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. Why would anyone of sane mind want to waste time reading nonsense from a promoter of misinformation? If you go further into the Wiki entry so can see Kirsch's background is in something other than bio-sciences albeit successful and made him lots of money. He seems to have gone astray onto the conspiracy trail when his early funding of COVID treatment failed.
