As long as you were physically in Australia for 2 years I couldn't see a problem.

If you have just come back from overseas

There is a possibility they may ask for proof where you live bank and accounts

I have been told from Medicare that if you have been out of the country for over 5 years

You then have to prove that you you have closed your bank accounts over seas

Who knows what Centrelink will do in the future

    IMHO

OK then, the question was " Just wondering if anyone knows if Centrelink looks for overseas bank accounts of OAP applicants, ".   "Looks for, not asks". You should read more carefully before you mock. Tell ya what to do, today, go and draw out all your money, close account. Next day, tell Ctrl. the truth, no foreign band accounts. Day after, open bank account, deposit your money. Normally I would charge for my assistance and advice, but, I give this for free.

I have heard that people living overseas have had there overseas bank accounts questioned

    How Centrelink knew

    No one knows

So if you are honest we dont have anything to worry about

    IMHO

Yes I know. But if the above is true ie Centrelink does NOT have the power to check individual’s AUSTRALIAN bank accounts, how could it possibly have the power to check individual’s OVERSEAS bank accounts?????

If my memory serves me right

When i was first signed up into the centrelink system

I had to sign that they could check everything about me

At the moment Centrelink Immigration  Taxation and Medicare  Are all linked to Centrlink

My bank closed  its local baranch

    I notified centrlink this

    They said they already knew

Dont think that you can hide t much from them

Its only the bad ones that make it hard for us good people

I think they changed the form (just adding that little bit of language at the end) early last year as I had to use the new form when I got my extension in April.  Anyway, it's been available online since at least then:  https://www.immigration.go.th/download/

The form available on the Chiangmai Immigration website, though, appears to still be the old one.

Would be great if they also had the Form No In English

To make it easy to download the correct form

    Talk about not helping us

It is not rocket science to have this done

The pension is only frozen on the date you start receiving it, not on the date you left the UK.

I have a vague plan to move to the Philippines in a few years. The country is developing very fast under Mr Duterte, who is planning large infrastructure projects.

I have friends who have told me

It is from the date you leave the UK to go live overseas

If you go back for a period you go back to full pension'  But when yo leave to go back to your original payment you receive when you left to go live overseas

Its a killer for pensioners but a win for the government

    They are looking into this

But they dont realty want to cnange

As it will cost the government more money

  6. No these are not the cast iron ones

    They are available at Rimping

    I saw them last year

Plus a friend used one of mine then bought one from Rimping

They are similar to those ones that have the marble stone finish

    Not sure how they go

I have friend who bought a set   so wil be interesting to see how long they last

But they are very practical in so much as bug control is much easier. I don't have one but there are times when I wish I did.

I agree I have lived in a condo that had been invaded by Termites

It is going to cost the owner a lot to replace wardrobes cubards drawers and the kitchen

He is also going to renovate the bathroom at the same time

I have heard about other condos the same as the termites just go from one condo to the next

As many of us can not get Medical Insurance

AA Brokers gave it to me a month ago, they are close to Big C Extra Pattaya Tai.

    Thank You

  10. Well if people actually read about the new building

They would have read that it took 2 years from deciding to rebuild

To have the funds approved by the Government

So the theory about private business funding  has gone out of the window

I dont think the Government wants to loose control of the reins

    IMHO

  11. I have heard that it will be condos 2 per floor

    Someone said a Hotel

They have purchased buildings next to the building for car parking

Because that was why they stopped the building when it was shut down

Because there was not parking available

I see this building every day

Maybe i should go and ask

On the National Geographic channel they had a program on Coal mining in the US. I watch as my old dad was a coal miner in UK, starting back in late 1920's.

One point in the US made program was that more miners died in accidents in the 20C then troops died in the Korean and Vietnam Wars Combined.

    john

Yes my dad was a coal miner too in England

I have seen a few segments on Coal Mining

Its a dangerous job  even these days

Accidents always happening all over the world  Underground

  14. There is KFC and McDonalds with just a few coffee places

The Big C is a Big C Market it has a few things for supplies

But not a full Big C Supermarket

Mostly Phone and Internet places street level

    With IT Upstairs

    Repairs up further again

Learning Thai on top level still has food in the corner

I believe it is still a work in progress

  15. In the past people have wanted to know who has a dartboard.

I have just read that the Kangaroo bar has one now

It is on the eastern side of the out side mote

Going south just after the traffic lights and opposite the walking bridge over the moat
