  1. Hi All,

Wondered if any of you are (or have ever used) someone that knows what they are doing regarding optimising a web presence here in Thailand?

Just quickly...my company has been snapping-up some prime real estate on one of Thailands largest and busiest auto sales websites (25,000 visitors per day).

We have attempted many things to get prospective customers to 'opt in' to our unique offering, but the sites own statistics package is showing a pitiful response to what WE think is the perfect message.

Obviously...it is the total opposite of this as the results are showing!!

Anyway...we would be interested to learn of anyone that could possibly help us on a consultancy basis to re-strategise the online 'message' relating to our product that we are getting so dreadfully wrong.

Any and all help and assistance that is based on a proven THAI track record would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. just a quicky

I am leaving Thailand with my wife and Child for a better education for the little man. I have had bad luck in work over the last 18 months and its not going to get better so we cant afford one here for him.

our house has been on the market for 18 months and we have not had any luck. the price is as low as we can go without still owing to the bank.

I will not be able to afford the morgage when we get back to the UK. we have talked to the bank to see there views and was told its our problem.

what is the worst case if we just go to the UK and default on payments? this is a serious question as it looks like this is our only option at the moment.

Hi M. You should know who I am, I got rid of your stench one Xmas at MM about 4 yrs ago.

I'll see you Weds (if you're still working at The C). I'm only round the corner from your house, if theres anything I can do...let me know.

Gentlemen...the OP is a good friend of mine and will be Thailands loss. Sorry to hear you are leaving. I will never forget your generosity when I was in the poo that time and you are probably the reason I am still here. I can't express how grateful I will always be.

Let me know when & where the pi$$ up will be.

    Cheers, P.

  3. Flashing his lights back at the SUV was certain to inflame the situation. I find the best way to deal with this type of aggressive driving is to stay ahead of the offending vehicles, switch off the ignition, but NOT enough to bring the steering lock into play, and then brake hard, without the brake lights illuminating, this really makes them sh!t their pants and they back off. In UK I had a discrete switch mounted so I could disable the brake lights to deal with these idiots and those than insist on staying 3 feet off the tail of your vehicle.

I have had the manufacturers rear machine gun and oil slick generator options fitted to my car.

Next, I'm having the ejector seat and forward facing rocket launchers added.

    Beat that then!

  4. Look up the definition of murder, it is not murder. And I don't have to watch the news, I'm there for some of it first hand, not sitting on my ass behind a computer monitor talking or running my fingers on a keyboard as it were, about stuff I know nothing about.

How did you manage to type that then?

    Go get 'em Rambo!

Actually, I'm taking a break for while, but have been there and will try to go back after the first of the year. What about you?

    I couldn't care less mate.

  5. A sad story. But a bit of a long shot to blame Embassy officials for not helping when we don't know if he even sought their assistance. Maybe he was one of those guys who doesn't want help, or refuses to seek it. Maybe he chose to be here and on the streets (heck I've seen it happen back home, so it probably happens here). Or yes, maybe he asked and they refused. But I don't think we can automatically assume that is what has happened.

Jeff was offered help; but flat-out turned it down.

He had terrible problems with his lower legs and feet, they were awful to look at and must have been extremely painful. THB2,000 would have fixed it, but he wouldn't accept it.

    Very sad state of affairs.

  6. My office is in the Ploenchit Center and I have been observing Jeff's (that was his name) gradual demise over the past year.

He used to use one of the benches outside my office to sleep on and was totally harmless, but unfortunately he was sleeping rough and had been for 3 years.

Oddly enough, I was having a coffee at Danube this morning and happened to look at my watch. It was 9:20am when he marched past me and he actually looked healthier than he has done for weeks.

Sadly, 10 minutes later he had jumped. I had left for a meeting by then and am grateful I did as his fall would have ended about 2 meters from where I was sitting.

I only had a few chat's with him, but he was very friendly and obviously an intelligent man who had fallen on very hard times.

    RIP.

  7. What happened to Howard ?

He collapsed at Thong Lor BTS station at around 5:00pm and numerous attempts to keep him alive failed at around 3:00am the next morning. A series of heart attacks caused his eventual passing.

He never regained consciousness after collapsing.

I was one of Howards best friends here through the golfing fraternity, where he is still sadly missed.

Please, to all those reading this that did business with him, support his business as best you can. It is still being run by his wife.

  8. That's not entirely true. "Friends" are quite easy to rent in Thailand... for the hour, the day, the week or the month.

    For_rent.sized.jpg

There's even the male equivalent for those of that persuation.

Sheesh, he/she really looks like the back end of a london double decker bus :bah::D

    Same colour too! Uncanny resemblance!

  9. I have sent the OP a private message.

There is a comprehensive warranty available for purchase when buying cars up to 10 years old and/or with 180,000km on the clock.

Before the end of the year, you will be able to have the warranty included in a car loan from one of the larger vehicle financing houses.

Anyone interested to learn more, please PM me. I own the insurance brokerage that is the exclusive license holder for this product from the insurers.

  10. sorry mate, I thought you were another poster and I blurted it out without looking properly. :D

now who is the silly man?

    You. smile.gif

Anyway, will this make you leave Thailand ?

I'm not Thai, I'm a Farang, yet you confront me, will that make you leave Thailand ?

You can't own land, you'll never be a citizen, you'll have to report every 90 days at the least to the Immigration Office even if you have a yearly Visa.

The Thais can't drive as well as you, they don't know the things you know, yet you always knew that didn't you, so you married a Thai person and bought her a car ....................................cool.gif

The land bit does not bother me, its in my wifes name. and why shouldnt it be. I mean I married her because I love and trust her. and ayway, if it did go tits up, so what, its for my son at the end of the day. so that does not make me want to leave!

If I had a problem with a Thai or a Farang, why leave coz of that. I have had bigger problems before elsewhere!

Visas, again, thats normal crap to deal with, do it right and then one does not have a problem!

Now, driving on the other hand, that could send me over the top and make me leave!!!:D :D

I agree with the "I've had bigger problems elsewhere" line. I mean, it's not like anyone has driven a fork lift truck through a Danish warehouse wall or anything...haha :jap:

  11. .. begin removed ..

The government continues to treat women as legal minors, denying them a host of fundamental human rights.

    .. remainder removed ..

I can agree with most even the part quoted above. There are days though I think we should never have let them out of the kitchen. And yes I know, that makes me an M.C.P. :)

Why have women got smaller feet than us? So they can stand closer to the sink! Count me in the MCP club.

  12. View_to_AllSeasons_FRAMED.jpg

    Beautiful picture. Bangkok?

One of mine is from my studio in Bangkok, and the other is from my room in Hua Hin. Sorry, the one from Hau Hin didn't seem to want to load.

Thank you. I am getting used to my new Canon 500D. It is a view from the roof of my building looking west towards All Seasons Place.

EDIT: Got my compass points 180 degrees wrong.

  13. View_to_AllSeasons_FRAMED.jpg

what ahorrible view. no trees or flowers just glass and concrete. get your ass to chiang mai for a room with a view.

Not in February ,March or April you can not see your hand in front of you.:bah::lol:

Have to disagree that view is awesome! imo

Thank you. I didn't rise to Mr Novembers comments. I had enough of mountains and grass for the first 38 yrs of my life. I get a buzz out of this view every time I see it. I also see the city that is providing me with more contentment and a better standard of living and quality of life than I ever had being surrounded by bloody mountains and grass. AND...my new hobby of photography excites me too! Pleased you like it.

  14. I was a very close friend of Howard (golfing buddy) and some of you may have spoken to me on Tuesday -- it was me that collected his telephone from Thong Lor BTS station at 6:00am and had the awful job of answering his phone throughout Tuesday.

Thank you very much to those callers who pledged continuing support. It was very heartwarming to know that he was equally as well liked by business associates as he was by his close and personal friends.

I took 15 different calls from suppliers and customers, all of which were very sad to hear of the death one of life's Good Guys, and my main role in getting hold of the phone so quickly was to assure his business associates know that whilst it is not "business as usual" at the moment, we are trying to quickly find a solution to make sure his wife can still operate the business and retain their hard-earned customer's support.

Myself, and one of Howards other close friends, will be meeting with his wife on Tuesday or Wednesday next week in the endeavour to find a solution and assist her in continuing the business as seamlessly as possible.

His wife can adequately cope with the manufacture of his range of products; but as 99% of Howards customers and suppliers were English speaking, she needs some help with this aspect to make sure his customers can place their orders as usual.

Please, please please be patient for a few days. I understand that some of you relied upon him to service your own business's, and are hurting now owing to the sudden departure of Howard. If you have to find other suppliers, please consider this as temporary until we can fix things and return it to normal for you.

Howard will be dearly missed on the golf course (and in the pub) by his friends. Please help us maintain his business for the sake of his loving and devoted wife and two young lads. They were wonderful yesterday at the funeral and if only you could have seen them together as a unit, you would be only too pleased to support them at this very difficult time.

If you need to contact me, please PM me and I will be only too happy to take a message in relation to this.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

PS -- Gavin, we are all very sorry for your loss. Deepest condolences from his golfing friends to you at this time.

  15. One of my (female) staff members legs would put Ryan Giggs to shame re: hairiness.

I changed her desktop screen saver once and out a Philips Ladyshave on there. She asked "What is this?" Bless her.

The resultant conversation ended up with the fact that she would be cold in the air con in our office if she shaved her legs.

    The other girls agreed.

    I gave up. :)

  16. Irrespective of the issues being discussed on here (can they do this to him, can they do that to him etc etc) I would just LOVE to be around to personally witness the enormous loss of face he will have to endure as each and every country, one by one, declines to allow him in.

Call me callous, vindictive or whatever you want, but his dispicible actions have driven my company to near ruin. I wish the same on him and his kind.

We live in interesting times. Night all.
