  1. ok

Now i am 25 years. I am indian nationality. My father and mother have indian nationality.

A Thai Family wants to adopt me as Son. I want to know about.

if i get the adoption what will be my Visa status?

After adoption I could back my country India and i will need Visa?

After adoption how much years it takes for nationality?

    Thanks

I am not an expert on thai adoption law, but:

I am sorry to say, but you will never get thai nationality through adoption.

being 25, you are too old to be adopted

why do you want thai nationality?

  2. Success !!!! 3 visas in passports but still no sms message so everybody should check the Embassy web site.We are very happy to have our visas but why do we have to pay 70 baht each for an sms message we dont get,to be honest I dont care any more as we will not have to deal with the Embassy again, ever.

Brilliant news. You can now start to plan for the happy times you will have in the UK.

come on peeps, i am all alone now in the waiting list. anyone want to join me? :D

  3. Its 4 am in the UK now and I cant sleep,My wife had a long phone call from the Embassy on Friday morning asking lots of questions I think because we made the 3 applications for my wife and her twin daughters. She was asked how often the daughters father saw the children which was birthdays and fathers day so about twice a year also where we met when we met, where my wife lives ,does she work,do I support her.My wife answered all the questions no problem because she was able to give honest answers as we have recently sold our house and she and the children have moved in with her Mother which she explained to the Embassy, then they wanted to know how many people lived at her mothers house as it happens her mother lives alone her husband (wifes Father died about 3 years ago). Then the Embassy asked for my wifes mothers phone no. and they rang her and basically asked the same questions which again she was able to answer honestly and the same as my wife.I have just checked the British Embassy web site half an hour ago and their passports are ready to be collected,I rang the wife and she had not had the sms message yet so she will set off to Regent House to pick up the passports about 3pm.I dont think I can sleep again until we know !!!!

I am in the same boat as you cleverD. my wife and her 2 children applied for visas. fingers crossed for you and i hope it is good news.

  4. I fly out shortly. Our intention is to and say goodbye to our life in Thailand [allowing a week for this], to hold a party for the friends and neighbours who wish us well, and then to return to the UK in time for the remainder of the August good weather.

Life becomes stress free and there is so much we can now do together. Previously, I never planned but we always intended and qualified our hopes and dreams with 'if'.

    Good Luck Housepainter

  6. Thank you very much for your replies. My sister in law's spoken English is pretty good - not so sure about her reading/writing. I've looked at the A1 test and she'd have no problem passing that though which is handy. What a palaver.

your brother's wife is already in the uk, on a settlement visa. this was granted in Nov 2009, and lasts 27 months. her settlement visa will expire february 2012. time to act now i think.

    Before the settlement visa expires she will need to pass either;

a life in uk test, (she will need level 3 english or higher. this test can be done in one day)

or pass an ESOL course in english language with citizenship.(she will need either a level 1 or 2 in english language, and during the course gain 1 level)

if she passes this, and satisfies the other requirements she can apply for ILR.

If she does not pass this test she can apply for FLR.

she CANNOT take the A1 test. the a1 test is for when you are coming to the uk on a settlement visa.

  7. Hi Housepainter.

I am in the process of compiling the documentation for my partners settlement visa application.

The UKBA state on their website that they need a certified photocopy of the UK partners passport.

Although I've emailed UKBA about this, they've not responded.....

I am planning to use a UK based solicitor (Commissioner of Oaths) to certify the photocopy.

Would you expect this to be acceptable?

    Many Thanks.

    you can certify this yourself.

just write. ' i certify this to be a true copy of the original' or words to that effect.

    and sign it

  8. Myself and my wife are back in Hua Hin for a few days R&R, and we went to the cinema at market village today to watch Harry Potter. I knew the film would be in Thai, but i thought there would have been English subtitles, but there wasnt (seeing as Hua Hin is a tourist area, and has a sizeable expat community). Is this normal for Hua Hin? When in Thailand my home is Surin, and while the films are in Thai, in Surin, they always have sub titles.

  9. However be prepared for the present carers to be contacted by telephone and questions to be asked about who makes the decisions, contact and visits.

This is quite important. I am sure the embassy will contact the 'carers' and their line of questioning can be quite tough. So make sure the carers know they will get a phonecall, and they know what to say. by this i mean they have all the relevant facts in their head.

The lady doing my wife's interview was very nice, but at times it felt like she was bing interogated.

  10. here is a list of providers

    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/new-approved-english-tests.pdf

here is a you tube video of the A1 test

    http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5A42B129484A0208

as far as i am aware the english language test A1 only involves listening and talking. i do not know why some language test centers include writing and reading for the test (maybe so they can charge you more money???). for the purposes of her visa she will only need a pass in listening and talking.

  11. you apply online, submit the application, make an appointment ( choosing a time from the next five days ). finsihed. you then go to the vfs building on the day. go to the bank there and get a cheque. bring the cash with you.

    1. Regarding Marriage, It asks when and where did you get married, If not married,Please state this and provide details of any plans that are in place for a civil Ceremony.

you say you will marry on the 25th Aug. when do you hope to make the appointment for? can you not marry then submit the application? if you submit before you marry just put the expected date of marriage.

    2. Have you lived with your spouse in a relationship like a Marriage at any time?

i put ''no'' to this. i married my gf then a few days later applied for settlement. in your sponsor letter you can go into more detail about the time your spent together, plus your supporting docs will show this.

    3. Is your sponsor responsible for supporting anyone?

you can write your wife's name here. there is enough space here for you to make it clear who you support.

    4. How much of your sponsors money is given to Family Members?

i put ''zero'' but you can put your wife name here and an amount

  12. your brother's wife and her children were granted a settlement visa (spouse visa) in Nov 2009. you can apply for iLR 28 days before the this visa expires. in order to qualify for iLR his wife needs to be in the uk a minimum of 24 months. that is resident in the uk. she also needs to pass a life in uk test - this can be taken in one day, you will know the result the same day (this test is for people who have a good understanding of the english language). alternatively she can take an ESOL english language course with citizenship. this is over a few months and is for people who's english language standard is not as good. your wife will also need to produce evidence of her life in the uk - ie utility bills, council tax bill, anything that shows she has made the uk her home, also photos.

if her children came to the uk on her settlement visa they would automatically be granted iLR if they wife obtains it.

i would think they would need to complete an application form??? just like the settlement - maybe someone can confirm

what standard is the wife's english language skill? is it good? can she read english to a good standard? if it is good it would be quicker for her to do the life in uk test

here isa link to the UKBA websight - you can find all the information here

    life in uk test http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/settlement/knowledge-language-life/

    good luck

  13. Hi Stanaris. Did your wife have any problem passing the Cambridge A1 English test. My wife and I have been married 7 years now and have a 6 year old daughter. I want to go back to live in UK but my wife doesn't think her English is good enough to pass this ridiculous test. I think her spoken English is good but maybe the writing bit would fail her ????

when my wife took her test about 2 months ago, she only did listening and talking. she may have had to answer some multiple choice questions, but that is all.

  14. Hi All...quick update...got a txt from the missus this morning stating that she received sms from VFS at 10.50am (Thai time) that passport ready for collection. She then phoned our Agent in BKK who stated she would collect it at 4pm today...great news?...not really as we still do not know the result!..

ok..go back to sleep and worry for just that bit longer!

....and then....received another txt from Wifey at 4pm (thai time)...Agent cannot get to VFS until tomorrow!!..<deleted>!..Ok..now rant and rave time!...fortunately...the agent nor the wife were on the receiving end of my frustrations as it would serve no useful purpose and therefore restricted myself to screaming at the parrot and

kicking the dog! (actually..I didn't kick the dog..he just hid in the corner!).

The annoying thing is...the agent has had all day to organise the pick up of the passport, even if she cannot do it personally, there are other staff that can do it, but she waits until the VFS close at 4pm to send the wife the message that she cannot go!...and that is the bit that really pee'd me off!

    So another day of worry!..Bugger!

Fingers crossed for you and your wife.
