  1. Hi

You mention your son was "snatched" from the nursery.

I would really like to hear how that's possible and which nursery?

Did you have a list of people allowed to pick up your son and if so, who signed for him ?

Anyway, as a father, I too feel saddened by your situation.

    All the best of luck.

    list of people allowed?

    signature?

take a look at the case of the little Cindy Lane

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Desperate-Br...16#entry3659716

unlawfully abducted from Montessori's Children Center International in Naklua

Imagine a thai grandma gold covered stepping into a similar school (or nursery) asking for her grandchild....

do you really thing a teacher would say: sorry ma'am, you're not on the list....

    not in this country.

    ...

A good father in Thailand does not have to be afraid of the Thai Juvenile court system. He may not get all he wants but he will get what is best for the child, isn't that what all loving fathers want?

I would like to see one change, that is strengthening the ability for parents to enforce their right to see their child. But not with introducing parental kidnapping, that would make it a criminal case and juvenile court would be left out of the decision making, not good. They are good at taking decisions in the best interest of the child, let them continue to do that

    Michael

    hhhmmm...

Thai Juvenile court system doesn't care about parents morality but is just a matter of money: if you can show official monthly income enough to can support the child doesn't care if you're a bigamist, sexual maniac, a charlatan, a 24/7 drunken man...

    on the contrary

you can be an angel on earth, but if you can't show an official monthly income you'll have no chance to get the custody...

    now

we all know thai laws prevent foreigner to many jobs, no sole property, etc.

    that's mean,

unless your income is not coming from outside thailand

    or

you've setted up a company ....giving yourself a salary (absurd!)

a foreigner will always be in deficit compared to a thai citizen, they're allowed to any job here...farang NOT

    that's the (sad) matter

  2. .... to get the local police interested in helping us find him...

    martin,

    A plan:

collect every single evidence of alleged bad behaviour or mental diseases regarding "the kidnapper", then get yourself a lawyer and back to the police station:

    make a complaint telling you have reason to believe that living with the mother-in-law, for your baby is a serious danger, and if he should be harassed and harmed the police will be accomplice of, as they've been alerted yet but nothing has been made;

further: as your baby holds both citizenship, thai and british... so the mother-in-law got no child custody on him, technically she's unlawfully holding a brit citizen, the embassy should do something...

B plan (if case of needs):

    ................................................................................

....... I'll tell you in private.

  3. cut the word terrorism and replace it with the word "COUP"

As I recall, nobody got hurt in the coup and people were giving soldiers flowers in the street. The yellow shirts didn't hurt anyone in their protest either. How many people have died or been maimed at the hands of the redshirts? How many grenade attacks and shootings?

The comparison of the coup to terrorism is ridiculous, particularly since the coup was partly conducted to avoid violence.

correct! it took 4 years (yes thais are slooowminded) to the people to realize they've been a$$<deleted>**ed.. but once they understood... (see the last 3 months)

incorrect. police officers who dared to attempt to push them away from the prime minister's office compound (august 2008) has been injured (and some hospitals in bangkok refused to heal them)

oh please, be serious, i'm not thai, not even a young boy....

    anyway....

WHO'll take seriously an arrest warrant for terrorism issued by a country that repeatedly ignored an international court decision? (see the Preah Vihear Temple dispute)

  4. Nobody cares!!!!!! Thailand has a terrible reputation for human rights and lies!! He can go anywhere and everywhere! The Western world love an underdog fighting against an oppressive junta!

:D There are quite a few places where he couldn't go BEFORE today. Today will add significantly to the list. The western world know there is no "Junta" here and all the governments recognize the government of Thailand. What Western countries HATE are corrupt leaders and since Thaksin is already convicted of corruption and now a wanted terrorist ...... Poof ..... there goes those shopping trips to Louis Vuitton in Paris.

convicted by courts put there by the same elite that overthrown him with a coup....(actually two)

    :D

    :)

  5. World, outside?

the rural thai have no idea about life outside. Show them a map of the far east and they cant even identify thailand properly let alone the major cities. They dont even understand what a map is - cant visualise.

When I taught in a primary school I realised that they had never seen a world globe before, didn't know what it was, couldn't grasp the idea of a round earth and my thai supervisor advised against this path to knowledge as its never in the curriculum even in high school. This was quite a progressive school as they go btw

    sad but true

well, but how long time has passed since Aristotle's (384-322 B.C) argumented for the "Earth's sphericity"

    and Columbus first voyage (1492)?

probably within the next 1800 years rural thai folks (& teachers) will be aware of it.....

  6. ... a lot of Thais believe "The Truth" can be found on their little Thai television programmes and "Lies" is found on the "foreigner television".

once i was dining at a restaurant while tv showed a documentary about farangs working hard on a assembly line, 8 hours in a row, no break for lunch....

the restaurant's staff was not much busy ( i was the one customer) and watched the whole broadcast... then... when was ended

    their comments:

IS A FICTION, everybody knows farangs do not work (but defecate dollars), and is not possible to stay 8 hours in a row standing and without eating.

so, foreigner televison broadcast lies (about politics) and fictions (about job).

    fantastic!

  7. where was the trouble in Pattaya, i never saw or heard of any trouble, just a few protesters outside city hall

there are hundreds of troubles in pattaya....

Three arrested following necklace snatch in North Pattaya

Two men caught with gun on Pattaya Beach Road

Italian Tourist drugged and robbed by Thai Woman

Australian punched and stabbed in brawl outside Central Pattaya Bar

these are just few news from the last 3 weeks....

are all episodes threatening thai tourism

but this is the time for blaming redshirts for everything, i'm surprised they aren't been charged yet for causing drought in the country

  8. and you take this serious!

nice comedy value, but if you going to take it serious we have to laugh that you believe a falang can steal this much stuff.

news day slowing down is it? or Nation insist this be shown.

careful though, as thai gov might decide get all falangs out of town, barflys and all.

Don't mind viking - Amsterdam is paying him per post, and he has his hands full. Just ignore him.

    :ooh no :) ?!

  9. Thaksin's arrest warrant delayed

The Criminal Court has taken back the arrest warrant for convicted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on terrorism charges on Wednesday night, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) director-general Tharit Pengdit said.

Mr Tharit said the court had issued arrest warrants for Thaksin and nine other anti-government core members on terrorism charges earlier today but it had decided to recall Thaksin's arrest warrant.

"Further investigation will take place on May 24 at 9.30am," the DSI chief said.

The attorneys had already approved the 10 arrest warrants but the DSI would have to wait for the court's deliberation on Thaksin's case again, he added.

needs a little more than "we say he is a terrorist" in order to obtain an international arrest warrant...

thai goverment+courts credibility is at his bottom nowadays, "blame" it on stupid foreign media

CNN, BBC, Reuters etc (+Nato+Amnesty International)..... go out thailand, you're not welcome anymore :):D

  10. I'm in bkk and would like to get a re entry permit as I'm leaving thursday. any ideas anyone? What are my options? thanks.

u can make it at Suwannabhumi Airport ; can check it here :

    immigration bureau

thanks, i didn't know they had an office there. it doesn't mention what time it closes, will call to find out. thanks again.

It should be open 24/7 it's located at the centre set of passport control (by the Thai check in desks) BEFORE you go through immigration.

checkpoint at suvarnabhumi doesn't issue re-entry visas anymore since jan 15, 2009

I have tried phoning many times but no reply so it may be other Immigration offices are closed not only in Bangkok .

Still hoping someone can confirm for me

i confirm the office for chonburi in jomtien is open (and busy), i get my 30 days extension 45 minutes ago, just back home from the office (crowded more than usual)

  13. I forgot ---can any one remember??? ....Did the army or police disperse the protesters that shut down the airport, or the government offices (two years ago) Or was that settled by a change in government?
if you were been an officer at the time, would you dare again to try to disperse protesters after one of them get a funeral with special very guest attending as never happened before?

    me don't...

How about for a change, have a look what facts CNN presents on this document. The Red Shirt leaders always say: how can the Thai Army shoot at people who are unarmed? This will once and for all open your eyes about the Red Shirts.

    opened my eyes wide ...

they've been SO SILLY to show to media the weapons the seized from army (or left by) in the past 2 months

they've been SO SO SO Silly to give them back...

    such a fool move!

  14. ...

She can not believe any Thai lady would put her child in such danger

so she walks around the house and says

The child must come from Cambodia

    Can not be Thai

    same ol' story...

if there's something wrong, must be foreigner....

from now on, i'll stop ever lady i see with 2 or 3 children clinging to her while driving motorcycles then i'll ask "whel u com flom"..

  15. .... necessitating the PAD to come out and try and save Thailand from a tyrannical dictator...
much more than tyrannical.... using black magic he made the people believe the thai economy, the tourism and the investments been gettin better...

.... the people believed at such point that tourists and investors could even been touched, flesh and bones (and $$$$$$$$$), as if were true....

after years some still believe was all real, economic magazines included...

    such a fool...

thanks pad for break the spell

Without that plan of the Mr.T clan, there would be no red shirts in the streets now.

And why do you think the red leaders refused the offer for elections in 9 months?

    qood question...

did somebody know how is the longest time in history a non voted government stayed in charge?

  16. ...I though prachtai was banned by the government. How did you access the webpage? Through proxies?

warning: in thailand is a crime to use proxies, to say "yes" mean claim themselves guilty...

    anyway

is accessible, since the Thai Journalist Association made a statement* to notice ban violated article 45 of the 2007 Constitution, etc etc

    * tha day after Kiatkong Thongruang, representative of ASTV-Manager had resigned from the TJA board.

    chantorn, try again... :)

  17. Amarin Phachonyut:

"Tear gas responsible for chaos among troops at kokwoa intersection. The chaos triggered a misfire of M79 that drop in the command area instantly killed a commander and fatally wounded 3 others. LtGen. Walit lost his legs.

The troops in the front line thinking they were attack from behind turned around and started firing wounding 20 other officers.

After the mess, Prayuth held a meeting demanding other commanders support him in a coup. They all turned him down flat, and instead demanded he take responsibility for the mess."

    From facebook udd

    Interesting, but:

    a) Would they really be that incompetent? (TiT and all)

    ...

NATO refuses repeatedly to have them by side on peace intervention in south east asia..

    ...

... Facebook UDD? Well that is certainly a reliable and unbiased source.

As are the nation and bangkok post

really? i've always trusted them :)
