  1. BANGKOK, 18 March 2012 (NNT) - The Public Health Ministry reports that the number of HIV/AIDs patients in Thai is on the rise with over 1 million patients currently.
"currently" and "since" to me are not synonymous, moreover the use of the word "patients" can't be reffered to dead's one:

as from the article i understand (and guess not only me) there are NOW 1 million people ill, not 1 mililon since 1984..

  2. ...This guy is a f*%&ing moron and that isn't even remotely true. New infections in Thailand have dropped from +150,000 per year in the early 90s to 10,000 per year now, roughly the same per capita level as the United States. Southern African countries have 20-30% of the population infected and Thailand has less than 1%, and most of them infected more than 10 years ago and the number of new cases are relatively small.

I don't know if he is incredibly misinformed or he is deliberately spreading misinformation to keep people away from Thailand or because he is against prostitution for moral reasons. Either way he is an uninformed bigot

most probably the guy does read news form national news bureau of thailand

  3. I have empathy but my empathy is for the guys that lost there life savings and end up with nothing because they have been fleeced by girls like that and then end up jumping off Condo buildings because they are broken men and too old to go back to work and think they have no alternative but to jump.

In many countries around the world they would be in jail for fraud but TIT so yes I do have empathy, but not for a career bar girl who is only out to fleece the next unsuspecting naive farang that arrives in thailand as in this case.

As I said before a death sentence is too severe but I have no empathy for her at all, so yes your right in that statement.

    DK

    ........

When you lie, cheat, deceive and play with peoples emotions you should take care. Many a Thai woman has taken her revenge out on a mans penis with a knife. This man took his revenge on her with a knife. Justice? Maybe.

And maybe it might (though I doubt it) make some other women think twice when they lie, cheat and deceive as many Thai women do with us foreigners.

my former thai wife was (and is) a swindler, i have no idea of how many milions baht she wasted and how many men she ruined, before and after my coming: the only one way to end her "career" was to murder her, i hope to never hear news about guys jumped a balcony because of her, i'd feel little guilty to hadn't broke the chain...
  4. ... Are you suggesting that they did that even though they had no evidence?

    ....

    believe me or not

in the seizure case the court's president stopped the prosecutor at least 3 times (if i good recall) and told him to skip his blablabla... he made him jump all the speech upon the evidences...

aahhhh ... so there was evidence.

rumors say there were evidences, but as weren't shown to commoner...
  5. in my opinion there is something that escapes to the mind of all those who wrote (and repeated) the words convicted felon;

i have no idea how many of you writers have attended at a thai tribunal: 70% of cases go to court without any evidence , is up to prosecutors to forward (or don't) a case basing their decisions on empty hands, only on "police said"...

thaksin's cases were no different from the average

    and never forget

    that he is

    and will always be

a third world's country twice elected prime minister

    deposed by a coup

then any judgment or decision made by those who put him down

is watched with suspicion by the rest of the world...

  6. How many *governments* issue passports to criminal fugitives?

seems like, to be or not to be a criminal depends on what government is on charge
"When Thaksin's passport was cancelled, there was no order from the courts or the police to seize it," Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul told reporters.

as a consequence of the statement above, we would see soon a warrant for the official that seized mr.T passport ? (probably Abhisit cousin acting illegally by nepotism... never heard yet a criticism upon that fact) lol

  7. Corruption

How about the 200Baht (at Jomtien immigration) without receipt i've always (5 times till now) been asked to pay (and paid)

in order to obtain a Residence Certificate (the one you need for driving licences or vehicle puchase/registration)?

is an abuse of authority that shall be reported, but to who? to MP Chuvit?

  8. ...This is a medium for posting or asking for current information to the interest or benefit of anyone who reads it- If you are not interested in the title then don't waste your time reading....

i have no idea of what "filter type" thaivisa.com is using to classify a topic relevant enough to be posted on facebook wall and twitter

in a case like this, the bombastic title brings to ??

there's nothing illegal in that kind of daily "scam" (i'm not sure the word is appropriate), just a person asking money and another voluntarily give him.

but as seems like you want go on, you should now open a topic for every one:

thai lady with buffalo sick, street beggar , monk, fortune teller, charity pick up etc. you meet

and by the same criteria thaivisa would display them in every platform

p.s. don't forget to tell us how they look-tall-dress, and we would appreciate to hear for them too your advice "Get them to the boys in brown or slap them silly..."

don't take it as personal, is just a matter of consistency of conduct

hope you got my point now.

    goodnight

  9. Hi everybody, i'm a german tourist traveling around thailand.

Last afternoon while was in bangkok had my bag stolen

i've spent 5 hours at local police station trying to report the fact, this caused me to miss my flight back to germany...

later i was standing near Starbucks in silom asking for tourist police, wjhile i met a gang of foreigners and thais walking together,

i told my story and one of them offered me to use his mobile and internet at his near located office at the end of a dark soi, but as the whole group seems to escort me to the building

i recall the story of the movie Turistas and other tales about trafficking human organs, then while we was onroute to the "office" i lost my cool and run off.

The leader of the group is dressed as a wall street trader, and looks probably older than he is

If you meet that group then be careful as must be a very experienced hookers gang. Do not try to hit them because they surely have weapons nor to alert the boys in brown 'cause they probably been payed to non look and not to know nothing

Knowsitlike, don't take it as personally, this is an invented tale, but how less credible than yours?

What i want to say is: YES, the guy is probably a scammer, not a stealer

so, you opened up a new topic for him

try to figure out how many thousands of topics should be opened to update a 50 years history of thai scams...

  10. ...Thai-Iranian man Thai-Belgian man...

as by thai law, a person over 20yo that want keeps is thai citizenship shall renounce to other nationaliry (if had).

for me is clear that article's source (police?) has voluntarily forgottten that technicality....

is a mistake useful to blame foreigners for something:

to being not good parents (at least non better than thai average)

    or

    to have abandoned children.

    this could be,

in any case medias should also find someone able(not a thai obviously) to write articles

about the obstacles (thai immigration law and culture) foreigner parents find living in thailand.

  11. in my opinion

THE ONE could tell us if protesters on that battle was armed or not would be Mr.Fabio Polenghi,

is clear he was an acutal witness,

    HE,

I do not believe the situation as descibed on previous comments written by people wasn't phisically there

so, he died and his belongings (camera, cellphone & other stuff) has never been found,

some say withdrawn by a soldier, but as i was not there i couldn't take this as a reliable information.

  12. Do these Thai schools not do background checks... who knows what sick twisted Paedo's are teaching our children in the various schools in Thailand You can be sure he is not the only one.....

if not mainly paedo, 90% of thai tachers fit the profile you described above, that's why school managers do not waste time checking foreign teacher's background.... after all they cant' be worse as domestic average
  13. “During our investigation, we checked the house for evidence and missing property, but did not thoroughly inspect the bedroom. We didn’t want to make the family feel uncomfortable by invading their privacy,” explained Lt Col Sien.

Any other C.S.I. worldwide would put himself in trouble if caught speech as Lt Col Sien did...
