  1. Can't get on it here near Future Park Rangsit

This is the message I get:

Access to this information. Suspended temporarily

    By virtue.

    Emergency Decree on Public Administration.

    In emergency situations, BE 2548.

The command center of the emergency situation.

    Translation by Google

  2. To answer the OP's question I think the reason has chiefly to do with disparities in income between westerners and impoverished hill tribes.

Huh? you suggesting that many Hilltribes are gay? maybe that's the case but just asking - BTW I have not particularly noticed 'lot's of gays' in CM .

TONS of Toms yes... but gays? hmmm - maybe I just don't notice them.

No, I'm not suggesting that hill tribes or Shan or Burmese are proportionately more gay than any other ethnic group. They are considerably poorer though.

Yes... so more 'open' to engagement with gays you think? in other words more 'flexible'? for financial considerations? genuine enquiry not vexaciousness

First the political threads and now here... :)

  3. Well, while I was searching for the elusive Blue Cobra on the web (it is very elusive) I came across the most beautiful snake picture I have ever seen.

It is called a Leucistic Monocled Cobra. Just incredible and I really am terrified of snakes.

Still searching for the Blue :)

  4. Now, i'm sure some of you might even agree with what this chap has done, but, because i'm not in CM at the moment and my tgf is staying alone who told me of this little episode she is really scared. If I were there I would have marched straight over to their door and banged on it demanding and apology or a couple of right handers would be flying simply because they put the frightners on my g/f.

As it happens I told her to go over there tomorrow explaining to them that they simply didn't need to act the way they did and throw my beautifully hacked tree back over on my lawn. Simply offer them the opportunity to approach us next time and I will pay for someone - maybe better I do it myself - to trim back the part of the tree that over hangs their property.

I am wondering how this is going to work out. Sending a scared woman to settle this is probably not a good idea.

  5. Add this one into the media war as well...

Myanmar opposition leader Suu Kyi says Thailand's political crisis shows that constitution drawn up by military can never deliver stability (via MCOT)

The tricky bit here is that Aung San Suu Kyi is as close as you get to a Mother Theresa figure in the modern world and through this, she is suggesting she sympathizes with the protesters - maybe people will read into what they want, but for here to make statement tonight after the 30 days dissolution was summarily dismissed as a stunt for the foreign media by Abhisit, speaks volumes for perceptions of this crisis on the international stage...

    Please read the article.

Nyan Win said Suu Kyi was not giving an opinion on the rights and wrongs of the conflict in Thailand, where red-shirted campaigners largely loyal to Thaksin are calling for the ouster of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

You might check out the above link for Aung Sang Suu Kyi's opinion on why the military orchestrated Abhisit govt and the military's constitution are doomed to failure.

She says nothing about a "military orchestrated Abhisit govt " and if you missed it:

Nyan Win said Suu Kyi was not giving an opinion on the rights and wrongs of the conflict in Thailand
  7. We'd have more safety in Bangkok if there were UN peacekeepers, as the red shirts have requested. The government has obviously lost control over the safety of its own people.

Oh now they need the UN. :)

  8. I would guess that those tyres would be set alight at the first opportunity. What about the BTS station at Rajadamri?

There is nothing blocking the station itself. However, once you descend the staircase you are in the middle of the protester living area. I really don't understand how they can live there given the smell. It is quite overwhelming at times and this was at 8:00 in the morning. Saw one, black garbed "security guard" and he was armed with a pistol.

I did not see all those happy protesters that one sees in pictures posted here. I mainly saw hot and tired people just waiting around, for what is anyones guess.
