  1. Excuse me but when the upper and Elite ( the yellow shirts) brought the country to its knees when they closed down the airports and trapped tourists inside there hotels. Why wasn't there a State of Emergency declared

    Just to refresh your memory:

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej Tuesday announced the state of emergency in Bangkok following a clash between the pro and anti-government supporters early in the morning.

  2. He said those things on live television? I thought it said in a meeting.

At a meeting of security agencies with the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation, Abhisit told them that people were disappointed with the officials for their failure to enforce the law.

"I don't ask you to take any political side but I ask you to protect the rule of law and enforce the law. I ask you to perform your duty, but you don't," he told the top brass at the meeting, as they remained silent. "No government can stay in power unless law enforcement is effective", he said.

  3. The classrooms were about the same as the ones in your photos, but your desks were taller. The only TCT reps I saw were the ones that came by to take photos of us in the classroom. Passports were checked only once, in my classroom, on Friday morning. Oh, we were right on the main parade route for the red shirt march.

If I remember anything else I will post it but to be honest I am trying to forget the whole absurd experience.

  4. I was just wondering what happened between February 6th when you posted this:

Flags are important for many countries, if not all.

They're the symbol you burn when you do not like the country, and the one you proudly display when you like the country.

I love Thailand and have been trying to get a good picture of the Thai flag for as long as I remember.

I give you my two best shots so far...

and March 21st when you posted this:

I actually do not like Thailand that much either, not much to like actually, besides the weather and some Thai people.

Not too sure why some foreigners think it is one of the best place to live in.

I'm here because I have a job to do here, the job is gone, I'm gone.

I will anyway have no choice, if my employment pass is cancelled, I have 24 hours to leave the country.

And if only for that stupid visa law, I will happily do it.

But for a few other reasons, I just can't do that easily.

So, indeed, why do I need to love Thailand?

It must have been something pretty bad. I am sorry for your misfortune. :)

  5. As a farang in Thailand I had the interesting experience of spending this past weekend ( one night ) visiting

Khon Kaen to attend the ordination of twin brothers as they became Monks in a rural Temple in a small village

about 30 kilometers outside the Khon Kaen City.

So, based on a one night visit, to one temple you are able to discern:

...that the red shirt movement is actually much wider

and is taken much more seriously in rural Thailand than some people on Thai Visa have given credit.

    Incredible :)
