  1. Your comment below about needing a Thai work permit in order to obtain a Thai driver's license is at odds with reports by several posters above in this thread....
A year ago I applied for a 1 year DL and needed my passport, WP. Medical certificate and my valid Texas, USA DL. I only had to take a color blindnes test and a periphial vision test. In and out in 40 minutes.

Today I applied for the 5 year DL and needed my passport, WP, Medical cetification and my expired 1 year Thai DL. In and out in about 30 minutes.

Both of these happened at Bangkok Land and Transportation office across from Chatuchak.

I was just stating what I brought along and what worked for me. I wasn't saying you needed a WP. I called ahead and was told to bring my WP to prove my residency. I am sure a Residency Certificate would work also.

  3. You seem to have read more into my post than was there. I was pointing out to PB that there are still many christians who do not accept homosexuals.

The Southern Baptists are free to believe and to worship as they like, that is their right and I would never take that away from them. I also would not take away the right of others to question the SBC beliefs.

It works both ways you see.

  4. :) And millions that are not.

From the Southernn Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant body in the US, website:

We affirm God's plan for marriage and sexual intimacy – one man, and one woman, for life. Homosexuality is not a "valid alternative lifestyle." The Bible condemns it as sin. It is not, however, unforgivable sin. The same redemption available to all sinners is available to homosexuals. They, too, may become new creations in Christ.
  5. That is more than the original Million Man March in Washington DC got, but nobody nitpicks about that. :D

March organizers estimated 1.5 million to 2 million attendees and the Park services estimated 400,000. and Boston university estimated 800,000. Which one is true?

Pick the one that best suits your argument I guess. :)

  6. I think you answered your own question when you closed one of his threads back in December. :)

agreed. This forum is a community forum where we discuss things happening in the community (here: Pattaya) and not to be confused with speaker's corner.

For this we have the General Forum where general questions such as do you watch telly or not can be discussed. Not allowed there either is starting controversial topics with the obvious intend stirring up heated discussion, aka trolling.

    Hence, this thread is closed.

    :D

I cannot comprehend the aggravation that the Glitterman creates among some of you. Live and let live I'd say. Yes, Mr. "James Bond" aka "Glitterman" is a tad spun off but so what? Why does it offend you? I for one actually enjoy him being around also in this forum adding a bit of colour to the Pattaya normalities...

Six out of ten of his post have been closed. Not well liked by some other people also it seems. :D

  7. I would say that this is not standard practice. Granted I have only worked at 3 schools. First one we had a time clock that printed the time on a card, second school we did sign in but everyone put the correct time or within a few minutes and the current school uses a biometric fingerprint scanner.

As far as the holidays go, once we are released we certainly don't have to come to school and clock or sign in everyday.
