  1. There is so much <deleted> flying around I kind of feel sorry for the government, they are not in a position to know what to do. Every country in the world has screwed up, every country in the world has a health system normally running at 95% capacity, so when there is any sort of emergency arises it goes into instant overload. Just as an example, the UK has 40% fewer beds than it did 25 years ago and many many more patients. Covid aside, this lockdown has led to a massive increase in obesity and resultant diabetis and mental health problems, which really damage the immune system. Health workers everywhere, especailly in Thailand never get out into the fresh air and sunshine to boost their already depleted vitD levels, which is there to support the immune system.

So whatever covid did to us the measures taken have made everything 100 times worse, so good luck Pryut Chan-c-cha, this is global screw up.

And don't get me started on the vaccines................

What’s the exit strategy though?   I suppose vaccinations but as you can see from the UK they do not stop people being infected, and since they are not 100% effective people will still die.   Even if Australia was 100% vaccinated they would have to come to terms a large number of people catching and dying from covid, or remain cut off from the rest of the world.

I think Australia will come to regret this choice, especially when they see citizens from Europe and USA travelling around with relative freedom to other countries, whilst Australia looks on trapped inside its safety bubble.

No one has died with covid in the whole of Australia this year, so correct your posting about deaths and the testing for "cases" also has many false positives.

  3. So these are people who died with covid in their bloodstream according to an imperfect testing procedure. No published records of what the main cause of death was.

So the system of lockdown, masks, stay home and everything else that didn't work last time, I know we will do the same again. If  I keep bashing my head on the wall, eventually it won't hurt anymore.

This will cripple the economy, even further, more people will lose their jobs and their lives...utter madness.

  4. "One prominent doctor had called for a week long shutdown in Bangkok."  Who was this "prominent doctor" does he pointed ears?....or a AKA of Mr.Hyde.

Remember that all doctors have a "duty of care" which means they can risk a lawsuit if they don't follow official lines as laid down by the Big-Pharma financed medical journals.

This means it is "narrow science" based and does not take into account ANY personal hardships that may retult in their actions.    Trust me I am a doctor......

We are guests in this country and the hosts are generally very hospitable unless you happen to be an arrogant foreigner. A damn site more hospitable than, say, the UK treats visitors.  Say no more.

That's true, but if the host blames you for something you didn't do then you have the right to complain and never go back there. It si not the people who are blaming us and insulting us and treating us like criminals, it is the government. So until there is a change, I for one will not be going back.

It is bad enough taking the blame for any accident we are involved in but this low death rate covid treatment is unacceptable.

  6. The banks know what they are talking about, farangs are not going to come to Thailand if they are treated like criminals, worse, as crimals are not forced to endure unlicenced medical procedures. Sure the west is joint responsible for the Fauci-virus, but not all of us and certainly not anyone who holidays or lives in Thailand.

We are not planning a return to our home this year, not unless Taksin or someone like him takes the reigns. I will give Thailand a couple more years until it becomes another Myanmar and if they think millions of chinese tourists are a good idea, the group who spend the least amount of money, big mistake.

Belt and Road will happen next and then well "they think it is all over.....it is now!!"

We are so lucky I have a second home in the sun.

  7. I think the government are not going far enough with these disease carrying tourists, we need leg irons and a ball and chain. The bars should be equipped with stocks and the locals can throw bad fruit at us, to teach us a lesson.

Quarantine hotels must have bars fitted to all windows and steel doors of at least 1cm thick, the locals need maximum protection against this virus that kills Thais 10 seconds after coming anywhere near a tourist.

All tourist must wear at least 15 face masks and cover themselves from head to foot in anti-viral gel, applied every 5 minutes...you cannot be two careful with this farang strain of the Fauci-virus.

I have ordered my suit with arrows on it so they know I am a tourist.

    And these countries are...?

Pushing with full gas...? 8.45 doses per 100 people. Gibraltar, 230 doses per 100 people, UK, 102.74 doses per 100 people, US, 91.4 doses per 100 people, Cambodia, 30.67, Bhutan, 62.56...

    https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations

    Full gas, my aspadistra.

So you mentioned one European countries, where half the population aren't vaccinated....what about the other 43 where the vast majority aren't and never will be the way things are going?

  9. Lets see if I get banned for quoting facts again.

Covid deaths around 850/66 million compared to 120,000/56 million in England and Wales nearly all old and sick in both countries. But the government treat this as it was the only thing going on and that foreigners are the cause.

Motorcycle deaths in Thailand around 2 every single hour, mostly young guys at the beginning of the lives and what the government policy, a small fine and a free pass for the day?

Type 2 diabetis an explosion of cases costing tens of millions of lost years nationwide and miserbale lives at that, so what is the government policy? Education, taxing high sugar and other junk foods, no not a peep. Meanwhile the people get fatter and more unhealthy.

Then there is the enormous drug problem..what can I say?

Three problems a thousand times worse than covid in terms of man lives lost and instead covid is soup of the day every single day...and blame the farangs, well you cant blame them for the other 3 problems...or maybe you can?

We invented motorcycles, junk food and methamphetamines, so maybe they have a point.

i hate it to go back to winter, but im leaving when they resume direct flight

i dont blame you, I have been in Portugal since July last year and love the winters in Thailand but with all this stuff going on forcing vaccines or a massive hotel bills and the possiblity of not being able to leave Thailand next spring, you can forget it.

It has been a bit unforforatble here with my first winter in Europe for 10 years, but the summers are fantastic, a great place to be stranded. Getting stuck in Thailand over a summer/rainy season is not fun...at all unless you like scrabble or knitting.

We have our vines to tend to and olive trees...oh and one day I might learn a few words in Portuguese...doh!!

    Bonne Chance!!

  11. Even if you believe the worldwide figures and compare them to the annual deaths from covid (corona virus disease) which are 1 million every year "reported", with no regular testing. Then that can easily translate to 10 or even 20 million worldwide, so far we have around 3 million with rigerous testing.

Then you have the numbers in Thailand, around 100 in a year, compared to 125,000 in the UK, where the hell is the problem?

I think thats where the excess deaths data comes in. As that takes a count of all deaths higher over a 5 year average. While its not completely accurate it does give a good indication?

That is the only way to find out if there is an epidemic, extra deaths to a normal year. Even then you have to look at the previous two years as well. Often you get 2 mild years where viruses are weak and don't "finish people off", those people will be added to the bad year when the bugs going around are strong. So far I have seen no evidence of an epidemic in Thailand nor any pandemic.

After my heart attack two years ago I learned a lot about the immune system, which is the only thing you have to fight viruses. Your immune system is greatly weakened by fear, anxiety and stress, it is also weakened by lack of exercise and even more so from lack of UVB, which doesn't pass through glass, so being indoors you get zero VitD. Imparement of breathing, including rebraething your own stale air is also highly inflamatory, surgical masks are designed for short period use in operating theatres with inriched O2 conditions.

So what have we been advised to do by the "experts" everything we can to weaken our immune system and where is the one piece of advise that would strengthen it......VitD3 supplements, or fresh air and sunshine?

I have been stuck in Portugal since last July and get out every day, during winter months I check my VitD levels and top up. We had covid last year manifested as slight cold symptoms. British MP Davies stated in parliament that "a Vitamin D3 supplement would have saved half the 120,000 covid deaths" (in UK weather conditions).

I will be happy to provide irrefutable scientific evidence to support any of the above.

  13. I was recently reprimanded for saying no one had died from covid and that I was spreading fake news.

A doctor or pathogist will put down the cause of death as the main cause of death and in virtually all cases, covid was merely present at the time of death. Therefore these deaths should be described as "covid present" or "covid as a contributing factor" and not as was stated "95 covid deaths".

Furthermore the test for covid has been drawn into question recently, even with the MSM and that at least 25% were proved to be "false positives."

It was reported today that 2 paople had died from covid (again "with covid present") to put that into perspective over 1,600 die in Thailand every day, so what is that as a %?

  14. Are you sure the dont mean a "spaced-out" hub with all the yabba and ganja around, that makes sense.

Although the guys in our village makes some pretty decent rocket fireworks, maybe they have discovered a new fuel.

Or maybe they thought if the yanks can fake the moonlandings and plan on going to Mars, what the hell we can <deleted> the public too.

At least it beats more <deleted> covid news. Yippy-ki-ay futhermucker!!

My girlfriend is Thai national currently living in Vancouver Canada. Her mother is dying of cancer so she need to fly back ASAP. Does anyone know of any possible way that she will be able to avoid 14 days quarantine, perhaps with a test or something?

Any suggestions are much appreciated! Its a very hard time for her to be in this situation at the moment.

    Thanks!

My wife's mother is also very sisk, old and frail, could go at any moment, they talk on a video phone 2 or 3 times a week, but there are hundreds of thousands in the same boat due to this covid rubbish. Try to live you life the best way you can make sure she has the best care, food, etc., send some money like we do.

Also try to help others financially, there are many who don't have falang husband support.

    Good luck.
