Good idea ... but for whom ? anyway I will be away abroad so that doesnt concern me .... but one more holiday always mean more accidents and dead on roads ....

Hopefully compensation will be paid alot quicker than last time. Some of my wifes friends in Rangsit are still waiting for the promised payout after the 2011 flood.

There is just no way to satisfy everyone. If it were 10k Baht people would likely cry that it was too much. 1000k means a lot to the locals in perspective.

I would fine them with high amount so the next time they will think twice. the only things which can scare them is to take their money .... 10,000 is a beginning and I would not cry its too much . the only problem in this story is that you can beat up people and pay a fine of 1,000 baht and you are out .... sorry but they make more money in scams or renting their machines.... I have heard 1000 baht is a lot for Thais ... well for the factory workers or maids for sure ..... but not anymore for the others.

All this money which could have been used for Flood prevention , I would rather prefer to see my taxes used for some other purposes than this ever ending hole. what a shame !

you have to admit , a lot of improvements have been done but very far to be No 1 .... I am not talking about the never ending corridor which bring you to the immigration , the long queue at the same immigration , the crazy prices at the duty free , so far the only one I know where you cannot find Marlboro cigarettes , the parking lot , the taxi mafia etc ...etc .... Very far from the standard of Singapore or Seoul and Hong kong. So dream on a bit more ..... that's free of charge
