  1. Yes, that is probably the one to give up if one doesn't have the bottle to stop using both!
  2. I don't believe I am having 3 vaccinations in my past.....I firmly believe the vaxes served a purpose, brought about benefit, saved a lot of lives etc....I regard anti-vaxers as the nuts who believe it's a government plot to dominate the world! But the situation with Covid today differs... I might be persuaded to have a Covid jab with the same thoughts as having an annual flu jab.
  3. Because if they did not get done when the initiative and momentum and incentive was there, some years ago, I do not expect them to pursue it in recent times. Even I gave up on the idea after 2 and a booster.
  4. Yes quite likely, there is political mileage in putting down cannabis.... I certainly am beginning to think it does not mix well with meth though!
  5. I don't know how you come to that conclusion that they were anti-vaxers. I just expect many slipped through the cracks, or never really knew or understood what it was all about. In the early vax days, Thais were not getting the vax in great numbers.. I was of the opinion there was more focus on foreigners. Thailand also made a right mess of procuring them... hanging in for their own production to cover them... which got mired in bureaucracy (shall we call it). My wife's family made efforts to get their old mother done.. had they not it would not have happened. But to label them anti-vaxers, is senseless.
  6. They should be treated as per others, so the question is simpler.....
  7. I do agree..... after the initial 4-5 day bender, usually a couple of nights in Bangkok, then on to Pattaya.. it was time to find a keeper and do a bit of touring, Phuket, Samui, Koh Chang for several days to clear my head. Had some very good companions for those trips.....
  8. The deluded ones are the deniers or conspiracy believers to me.
  9. Millions....... and where are those tucked away?
  10. Some people just don't like to hear positive news as per the headline......not quite ready to accept they have been deluded for 2-3 years!
  11. Kept checking the radar and nothing, stayed dry and too darned hot here. Heavy rain over at her mother's in Korat though.
  12. I do hope these EVs aren't another Betamax!
  13. Should be returned to face justice... otherwise what is the point of policing!
  14. Since 2015...... when I turned 60. Haven't really needed it since then either.
  15. That is the ridiculous and obviously naïve scenario that was presented to them. India may well have come a long way since I was last there... but I doubt finding cheap, unskilled labour is difficult there, requiring the import of expensive room cleaners. .
  16. Me and my lady did some extensive tours of Thailand prior to settling here, near Pattaya (not Jomtien). A few places were better, but far too touristy and priced accordingly, Others just a little too quiet and isolating for me as a foreigner. Of course Mrs wants me to move to her home village which to me would be purgatory.
  17. Transferred, that is unbelievable, surely sacked and prosecuted.
  18. Do the Salvation Army still offer accommodation for the homeless?
  19. I expect people who were brought up in Hawaii, Tahiti, San Tropez and the like might well not see Jomtien as attractive, more pretty low and scruffy. Others who grew up in Glasgow, Burnley, Mansfield or New Delhi, it looks okay. I certainly know a lot of retired folks who have chosen Jomtien. Sure, if I had a lot of money, a Caribbean Island mansion would be nice, like Eric Clapton or Richard Branson, but I do not. One pal waxes lyrical about the sea view from his balcony, A cramped couple of square yards he shares with an AC compressor, drying underwear and towels and a few potted plants.
