  1. Mine isn't. I could fry eggs on my West facing bedroom wall if it were not vertical! My bigger Daiken is churning away for ages to cool it down in there for bedtime!
  2. Doubt my older back could take a ride in one of those! Like a speedboat to Koh Larn!
  3. It gets crazy when hot like this..... you should see them racing out of Pattaya Sunday evenings at 6-7pm North down Sukhumvit.
  4. Well my last one was not as bad as I expected..... BUT it only caught the first 10 or so days of the heatwave. I fear May's bill, it will include my afternoons hiding in the spare bedroom. the extra struggles of my bedroom AC trying to get that room down to a suitable temperature and hold it there evenings and nights. and a guest in the spare bedroom!
  5. Yes, a lot of Bangkokians travelled to Pattaya for the weekend to chill out in the relatively cool 36-39 DegC.
  6. It didn't help the water reserves which, now that Songkran is over, are a serious worry... and may result in the loss of.... some squillions of baht too.
  7. Darn it, stop moving the goalposts. It was mid-May last time I heard, and that was a change from the 'soon after Songkran' heard prior to that!

Probably not....Big-C South, Tesco oops, Lotus on Sukhumvit. Friendship.....
  10. Sounds great, although since I live well out of town I don't like having the driver plug in at my home for an hour, and having to make him a cup of tea.
  11. I noticed a few tourist coaches on Yume as I left yesterday (traffic was heavy in Pattaya, why the hell would Bangkokians want to come here in this heat?).....I was worried I might come face to face with one on Suk 36/1 alley and be getting nowhere. (It's also my route out of town!)
  12. Take a left, then either go to Klang junction or U-Turn just before Siam CC and go down 36/1 alley to Soi Yume.
  13. They did, but if one is working in the UK or for a UK company, payment of NHI is obligatory... the state pension comes from these payments not from general taxation. (So they like to tell us). The wingers had no say in the matter other than perhaps choosing to retire in the UK... (yeuch), or a country where the pension is not frozen, (Philippines... double yeuch!)
  14. Thais seem to be very fixed in how their dishes should be consumed, and what sauces etc must go with them. I am constantly having food go cold when I ask for my preferred sweet chilly sauce, rather than the overly sweet honey-like one that always comes!
  15. So the cost to the UK taxpayer of rescuing boat people and accommodating and feeding them is zero, along with the 85,000 asylum seekers from last year alone......well I never.
  16. You should be able to find a Wi-Fi network and get the password and log onto it...... most restaurants and places like Starbucks offer free Wi-Fi.....
  17. Didn't see any riding a horse and shirtless.... simply shirtless, yes!
  18. Well for the Fireworks competition that would have taken a good half hour, I was located further North and the Beach Rd was hellish crowded. Fortunately The Holiday Inn had opened up some facilities, for free too.
  19. Last time she came home with a large bag of quarters......when I asked who paid her in quarters she said' all of them'.
  20. Is six options enough for all the gender dysphoria and confusion one sees nowadays?
