  1. Just pop into a GGB and say I want to sit there and will pay you 5000 baht, pretty sure they will sort you out.
  2. Yes, certainly one leaves from just West of Foodland that is well used, but I think more than 6 other passengers. I believe it goes to Victory monument. There is another leaves from the other side of Foodland but not sure where that goes. I would rather use the large coach buses, from Reung Ruen bus station on North Rd, that run down Sukhumvit in Bangkok to Ekamai.
  3. The e was a kite festival going on, but if that was the draw for all the traffic I find that surprising.
  4. Exactly, because he wanted to fight!
  5. Up to the victim to press charges, and I believe he declined, everybody waied, apologized and went home.
  6. I always presumed it was their penchant for being far more reactive and rarely proactive!
  7. What, despite of the much reported 'rushing' to the scene?
  8. So the other guy tripped? Some times a guy simply deserves to be knocked out.... he is less likely to make trouble next time.
  9. Well, when I wore a younger man's clothes, an early evening dalliance 'calmed the waters' so I could have fun, without dragging one around with me, I could usually find what you preferred later on. At some point I would settle down with a keeper.... I used to arrive in Pattaya somewhat hyper from KSA!
  10. No not at all, that would simply be public I suppose. Just easier to find. As you say, short time rooms. Yes a few joints specialized in full view, although I often wondered if that was the way the guy liked it, or he was too cheap to pay a ST room.
  11. First encountered in soapy massage places by yours truly, many years ago, in a time when the average bargirl was likely horrified by the idea.....then some enterprising guys started places like Bliss and Lolitas. Became commonplace with MPs jumping in on the offering.
  12. Not sure if that is viable. I think it is an ugly monstrosity that spoils the area and should never have been approved.
  13. Unless you are a boxer or professional fighter, you sound like a person to avoid!
  14. Yes, and if not adept with fists, shoot, and still remain free. Best not to provoke I suppose.
  15. Yes, started in 2008 and here we are with this mess unresolved.
  16. I agree the mozzies seem bad this year.....and I get the garden fogged monthly. Beginning to regret not fitting insect screens.
  17. I guess you mean Marlin... a bit optimistic here in this area. I used to go out some years ago, queen fish, king fish, we even got a sailfish once. Some years ago, and I was led to believe not many fish about of late. Best trip we ever did was an all night and day trip out from Koh Chang, but we also left from Sattahip or Bang Saray, and motored out for some hours. Pattaya Sports Club used to organize trips, the groups were six to 10 guys mostly, but they need to pack a few in to make the price low enough. The boat needs to bring live squid for best results. I gave up as I found it exhausting, early start, a long day, and a drive home usually in bad traffic.
  18. And the guy whose car bonnet is being used maybe?
  19. Better not, I am being baited though!
  20. Sure, although the chance is of being caught by another drunk driver in a pickup.
  21. I have yet to be asked for my passport at a road check anywhere not near the northern borders...and this is the Pattaya forum. I suppose a tourist would be nervous if he had overstayed... of being likely to get locked up in short order. I would not want to toss my passport though.
  22. I can think of 3 without much effort. Two at least are no longer there but the service has become more commonplace.
  23. It used to be safer out there when the Chinese tourists were less independent, and were only seen out in large groups, being taken between the tourist sites.
