  1. Sorry to cut your post but just for efficiency. The UK does offer palliative care and there are hospice places that take care of terminal and suffering patients. But so many want to be at home .... only really works if they have family who can be fully involved. I still believe the UK NHS offers a good service....
  2. Yes, sounds less glamorous doesn't it? Oh those student days......
  3. I just took a look and USA got position 56th with Thailand at 89. So nonsense.....
  4. I expect the existence of Siamese cats dispels that too.
  5. No, it took a pandemic and dearth of tourists. Losing one lane and traffic stopping as parkers maneuver into position is hardly likely to improve flow. Pattaya really needs ways to reduce traffic flow into central town, rather than accommodating more of it. Funny that, when the extra lane was built some 7-8 years ago, it was to improve traffic flow, now apparently allowing vehicles to park in that lane will do the same? A row of parked vehicles is going backwards, a nice clear view of the beach and sea would be more attractive.
  6. With all your business acumen and available cash, you find it too complicated to pop into Watson's and buy a mask? Nor capable of knowing where one is required?
  7. Yes, it seems unnecessary and hence exposing the kids for no reason.
  8. Not tourist police, I believe this is in Soi 9.
  9. Since it was not suicide I say the 6 wheeler killed her.
  10. What a fool....since when has roadside parking ever improved traffic flow?
  11. Oh a bedsit?
  12. Well in gardens you get them.... in fact they grow rather too well and need trimming back often. Perhaps why they got rid of them on the Beach Rd and on The Beach, as they required too much work.. shame that. Had a Banyan tree appear in my garden and in a few years it was all over the place.... had to cut it back and kill it off before it took walls out. Didn't plant it, just arrived by nature.
  13. Give it time, the parent(s) may yet turn up. And assuming they are in the Casino (which one is that?) or a bar is a stretch too. They might be frantically hunting the streets. Although I do suspect it IS abandonment... Sad testimony to recent times.
  14. Or something they did not really ask the questions of in the form. (They need to ask the right questions too.) In my case they found nothing for the current claim, which they refused to pay 'in advance', but it did not stop them subsequently increasing the list of 'exclusions'.... They went back to items that I had completely forgotten about many years ago. And they also managed to link them in a tentative way to serious more common aliments. I certainly would not have taken up the policy with those exclusions. I am not a doctor, why are they asking me? Can't cover, don't accept the premium.
  15. Hard not to have a giggle!
  16. Never heard of it! And yes, I love a pint of bitter!
  17. I believe that certainly the Royal one is still active.... his birthday maybe.
  18. Many many polices have limits on the claim you can make irrespective.... I had a policy with a max payout of 3mil.... and there is no guarantee they would pick up next years cover in the midst of a long illness. It is all a bit of a gamble....
  19. An hour if you are lucky....personally I always book a hotel and stop over, and it can be difficult to even get back there in the crush. (Unless I find a bar with a few seats open en-route).
  20. I agree..... if one can afford to self insure it is by far a better option. No exclusions, no requirement to pay then claim (which negates a reason for having insurance). Make a claim here and they will be digging into your medical records to avoid paying up!
  21. Any idea how long his sentence was?..... I believe they have to have served a good portion before becoming eligible for the Royal Pardon.
  22. Well I control and test the pool to keep it optimum twice a week, but seem to only smell it odd mornings.
