  1. I've had absolutely no problem renting in Canada with my Thai licence. I do try, however, to use a CAD credit card to provide full insurance. My guess in the U.S. that they can't fathom a Thai licence is for real!
  2. AKA hammer toes, right?
  3. And from iHerb. No duty.
  4. We never saw the 'options' for uploading any of these. Just filled in the form. Might this be the problem?
  5. I've never had a TM.30. Yearly extensions at CW never ask for it. However, I've been rejected online a few times with the notation, "Please update TM.30". Fine by EMS, of course. But there's an uncomfortable delay of a few weeks after 90-day expires. Can't update what you don't have. So my wife, the 'housemistress' filled in the online TM.30 form, listing her ID, our address for 33 years, my name & passport, and validity till the next visa extension. Still rejected. What am I doing wrong??? TIA!
  6. Any opinions on rice bran oil?
  7. For many expats, the nut is retirement visa money.
  8. Twice for me, too. To remove the margins. 20 sutures.
  9. Shopee is Thai-friendly. English, not so much.
  10. The peripheral vision test is done to see if people have glaucoma. The colors may make it easier for some. Good peripheral vision is essential to notice that motorcycle riding close. Over age 45 should have a thorough eye exam with dilation every year by an ophthalmologist. Rutnin is pricey but good value.
  11. Obviously, for public health, boosters should be available for free. I'm told they now cost. I'd call the Red Cross vaccination unit.
  12. Offshore wind, solar and tidal power are far safer options. An SMR costs $10 billion & trebles the cost of electricity. Green? No way!
  13. Jack, I thought the same. But my online 90-days were twice rejected, noting "Update TM.30". Not sure what that means; my TM.30 is in my wife's name & the dates are correct. Expiring at next year's extension. We've lived in the same house for 32 years! Any ideas?
  14. Does this mean that I can transfer / remit from my foreign bank account created pre-2024 without the 15% tax? I presume I don't have to file as I live off savings.
  15. Thanks for your efforts to keep us in line, George. It could be chaos! Will you please point us to the tax thread or tell us where to search? Thx.
  16. THAT would be a serious bummer. No hope for me at 75.
  17. Health insurance is going to be really hard on spouse visa-holders. Many have a spouse visa because they don't have the dosh to tie up in retirement. Let's hope they grandfather us in for existing non-O extensions. Thanks for your take, Sheryl.
  18. Govt hospitals are cheaper per doctor consult but often rushed through with not very effective ideas. Sometimes downright hooey. They want to prescribe you a grab bag of name brand meds--think Pfizer, GSC, etc.. Those big pharma brands are not cheap. A few have generics but not many import from cheaper countries. The U.S. has a $35/month cap on insulin. Insulin is a lifesaver--it should be FREE!
