You might check out the above link for Aung Sang Suu Kyi's opinion on why the military orchestrated Abhisit govt and the military's constitution are doomed to failure.
international media and news clips from other countries, show the most 'emotional', the most 'bloody 15 seconds', the most 'negative statements' and without the full story.
the opinions from outside Thailand, are even more polarised and single-sided ! China news - not even 1000 words, Singapore - government is right, Hong Kong - the most violence actions . . .

Changing colours is trying to goad martial law and curfew.
it is trying to confuse everyone, perhaps confuse themselves as well !
what make the martial law or the curfew success ? if the government and the security failed in the 'internal security act' and the 'state of emergence' :-(

Freedom Fighters????????
The freedom for more hand-outs? The freedom to have everyone bow to their wishes without regard to the consequences of the country?
yeah, 'freedom fighters' for whom ?
they hold millions of Bangkok residents as hostage, they 'bomb' the country's economy with heavy toll, they ( or someone else ) cost 25+1 victims !
what does this 'freedom' mean ? what does this 'freedom' cost ?

since the Junction View and Lane Assistance are not functioning on imported Garmin. does the updated TSM v10.1 make any difference or improvement on the imported Garmin ?
I am using an imported Nuvi 765 with a ESRI TSM v10.0 English map. should I update the TSM v10.1 map ?
please advise !
Improvements to the basic map may be of use to you with TSM v10.1, but if junction view/lane assist does not work now then v10.1 will not fix that. Depends on the price you are willing to pay for minor changes to the map.
thanks Interested Observer ! for imported Garmin device, the TSM v10.1 provides map data update only.
junction view and lane assistance are very handy, especially new driver in Bangkok ! I may consider a lower priced Nuvi 215W for these features :-(
on the other hand, the Nuvi 765's 'speak street name' helps me a lot on remembering direction ! kind of get used to it !

whatever RED wins or govt wins, Thai people ( and economy ) loss :-(
whatever RED wins or military wins, Abhisit losses ( who takes final responsibility :-)
bloody dispersal is not a short term solution !
house dissolution is not a true answer !
it is a format of civil conflict, and have to resolve it in a Thai way!
KEEP PEACE !

This is not our ( Farangs ) problem, to spout such hatred towards either group could have severe repercussions.
I can agree that expressing hate towards either group is pointless and counter productive but to say it's not our problem is spoken like a person with little to nothing invested in this country
AGREE with you, and you are not alone ! I am here and somehow it will a part of my problem too ! I do not prepare to buy a ticket and fly away !

If they discard their signature red t-shirts we might need a new name for them. Any suggestions?
"The protesters formerly known as Reds" perhaps.
"Mallrats"
one suggestion here :
United Front of DICTATORSHIP against DEMOCRACY
well, they don't understand these two words anyway !

May be best would be to rent out country governing to another state(country) for sometime anyway. I know it sounds crazy but at least then no red or yellow will be protesting, may be then both will unite
perhaps this is a very creative idea :-)
should I nominate the caretaking by 'people republic of China' ? they have a very efficient PLA soliders too !
( if you are old enough to remember how they managed the incident in Jun 1989 :-(
oh . . . just kidding !
-
'To create understanding' .... mmm, I think it has already gone beyond 'understanding'.
yeah, I don't have a Thai eye(s) nor a Thai heart to understand all these issues ! but, I am not sure everyone does neither !
would be really good if someone could further elaborate the words 'democracy' and 'dictatorship' in the context of 'United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship' !!
are they fulfiling the objectives, or they are following task orders ?
-
So basically
Reds are not going anywhere
Army is not going to do anything
Government can not do anything
Hmmm, sooooo whats next?
absolutely !! make no difference :
Internal Security Act > State of Emergency > who care ?
Yellow Shirt > Red Shirt > Multi-colour Shirt > what next ?
protest > seizure > violent attack > 'terrorist' > VERY SAD :-(
civil order ( police ) > military order ( army ) > almost no order now
PM > government > CRES > military > delegation, or escape ?
I am doubt on the 'fresh election' IF it is could be a fair one ?

Not to worry, it will be fixed the Thai way. Double all prices!!
yeah, Thai is very optimistic and very flexible :-)
meanwhile, the tourist industries of Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore . . . are all in front of the TV. they smile from their hearts and prepare for the 2010 'contingence' growth plans
-
One has to wonder what class of tourist there is left who would want to come here?
absolutely ! number of countries already warned 'due to the state of emergence and all the violence, insurance will not be covered in Thailand'
-
Thai tourism industry - airport closure ( by yellow ) - Bangkok rally ( by red ) - violence ( by unidentified ) = who deal to come ?
almost a formula of 'economic suicide' :-(
first hit, hotel industries; second hit, service industries . . . perhaps, last hit, farmers at north east !
-
I guess under the State of Emergency, the security officers ( ploice and army ) should take appropriate measures and should keep the CIVIL ORDER in place !
in those 75 injuried, how many are not-red, not-multi-colour ? they are complete victims !

an interesting opinion, I guess this forum could ‘accept’ opinion from all different perspective !
SAD that there are still many people have this ‘one-sided’ opinion, no wonder there are millions of red supporters ( or mai-me-see, mai-me-san ) still around in the country.
most of people ( Thai and including foreigners here ) don’t want to see violence - WE WANT PEACE !
but there are few protesters and their alliances are challenging the limits and they want to trigger violence, then the government will be blamed !
just my very stupid opinion.
