If you want 3G in Thailand, you will have to fly on SQ !!!!!
Maybe Thailand can buy the old 3G stuff out of them planes when they upgrade to 4G in 2016
Amazing Thailand

Yes, its possible to get very close to it. They are even running tours every 2 hours. You can get in to see the flight deck and bridge. You will see a little camp set up outside the ship staffed by navy folks.
Anyone know it tours are still running Wednesday 6th Oct ?
Might go for a drive tomorrow if so.
Thanks

Any recommendations please PM me. Would be nice to read them my self here !!!
I have been told that in the north some people wire up their gates with 'mains power' and switch it on at night, ANYONE touches it they die.
The mum in-law assures me that some of those high fences around peoples houses, with the foot high spikes on them, are in fact wired the same, try to climb over a 8 foot fence wired up and you die you naughty boy. To me, these are extreme and chances are a loved one will be the real victim.
Maybe you would want to electrify it with the same system as on cattle properties, that just give a bloody good jolt, and that combined with the fear of it being a lot stronger might work.
if some one wants to get in, they always can, just make is easier for them to go somewhere else.
Also, I have seen, many a front door with a vertical glass section next to it, even if it is secured with bars, people can break it and then just put their hand through and open the door. Only answer to this is special glass that doesn't smash, or a proper deadlock that need a key on both sides, not common in Thailand. Home Pro stock them I see,

Compared to Big C and Tesco, My local Carrefour wins hands down, particularly in the meat department, bakery and imported section. Will mean making an hour drive to Villa more often, so no big deal. One thing that really annoys me though, is, they may have about 20 check outs, with upwards of 50 staff in the store just standing around, yet normally on Mon to Thursday only open 2 (two) check outs and people have to wait for 15-20 mins in line, even if you have 1 item as the 10 item or less is only open on weekends. Many times I have just dumped my stuff and walked out.
I read on a investment site they are bailing these 3 countries to put the capital into India as expected a better return on investment.

Of course the snake has to be identified, I fell it is unreasonable to assume that after bitten that the snake can be found and killed, Does anyone know if the Thai hospitals have a ID table to help ID the snake? Is there a copy online?
I was under the belief that you also should not wash the area, as a swab can be taken and that can ID the snake.

There is a Brand called "Body Guard"
There is Body Guard 54 and 56
The normal Thai condom is size 49mm diameter, I have never noticed the chain pharmancy like Boots sotcking the larger sizes. I have seen them stock 45mm though.
the Normal Condom in Farlang Home land is 54mm.
Many drug stores in BKK stock this other brand.
search "Body Guard Condoms" for the website.
I had a look for you, the box has a price of 190b, the shop sold them for 140b, box of 12 Lubricated Condoms.
Also, apparently actually double wrapping increases the chances of a break. Water based Lube is your best safety helper.
Hope that helps.

6 months ago Nok Air was bring 2 Saab 340's in from Australia on a wet lease crewed by Rex of Sydney, are these the same Saabs?
Is Happy pat of Nok Air? About Us link is dead on website.
On this particular route, byt he time you get to the airport and allow for nasty traffic, check in, wait for flight, if flight on time, fly, get your stuff and then get to destination which may involve renting a car eithier self drive or hire a car for the day it is easier to just get a car in Bangkok and drive there.
Cheers

Thanks, there is several reference to a 10% tax on a sticky thread in Biz for bring in money.
I had never heard of it till today either and I was crapping my self.
Jingthing, Yes I agree, I could have made the title a bit more of a question than a statement as it is.

99% statement from the relevant Unions for a pay claim. That is fine. But very old information that was common knowledge 20 years ago.
I think the only thing new is now Thai may believe it is not now only Farlang at risk of exposure !!!!

I have read a reference many times now over the years, that the Thai Gov tax 10% the gross amount on inbound telegraphic wire transfers into Thai bank accounts form abroad.
This also has to do with making it difficult for people to make money form the difference form the onshore Thai baht rate compared to the Offshore Thai baht rate.
Can anyone confirm this 10% tax please.
Also, when I wire funds, I chose to pay the fee, (typically $25usd about) to the originating bank, how come Thai banks then charge a 700b fee hidden into it? Do all I know Krung Thai and BKK bank do a 700b charge hidden in it.
Very interested on feed back re the 10% fee and tax over 20,000.
Thx

My understanding is that Tilleke and Gibbons is "Western quality at Western prices".

I see in Thailand, many trucks that would be running on Diesel back home are running on LPG (CNG). Initially looking on Google, this is not that easy to do, do they basically make the diesel into a sparkplug engine first? Or just replace the engine with a petrol engine with a LGP conversion?
I was thinking of changing a Pick up over.

Selling a landed property faces more hurdles than and a freehold condo when you want to target foreign buyers.
What is a "Landed Property" please?

Anyone know when "Thai Tiger" is starting domestic flight in Thailand ?
May give a little more competition to Air Asia. I hope they do the BKK - KL route.
I can't see Nok lasting to long then.

Wish it was not a fatal, unfortunately some families are in deep distress now. Gone to work and never returned home,
and the ELT didn't activate because .........?...........
Geez, Thailand amazes me.
----------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: An ELT is a Emergency Locator Transmitter. Seem every other country in the world they are required as standard, but TIT. Modern ones send out within 5 seconds of impact your GPS location with the serial number of the unit, that has been registered to the person or craft. Send out every 60 seconds for 48 hours and can take massive impacts like a black box kind of thing. They are either turned on manually in the cockpit, or by a switch on the unit which must be assessable, normally in the tail and they turn on by a G load meter in the case of an impact. Save huge amount of recourses for searches, and you can get found very quick.
I bought my last unit for $300 !!!!!
Life is cheap in some countries.

Thanks for that. I will go there.

Plan to just go to Pantip this week, any other suggestions where to get a GPS that is easy to get to in BK?
I am particularly interested in Garmin.
Power buy told me that Garmin updates are only for a year, but they didn't know how much updates were after that. Actually their staff were useless. They also sa it is only in Thai lingo which I find hard to believe.
The forum sponsor in Chiang Mai say the updates are free. They seemed to be able to answer many more questions. I was reference to a Garmin Nuvi 205W.
thanks

I can not help you, but is it one of these, on website of forum sponsor.
http://www.eaglegps.co.th/index.php/lang-en/products/accessories/nuvi?page=shop.browse&category_id=8
Do you have any experience of the suction cup holders?
Any details of that shop you mentioned?
Have a nice day

Kan is good idea, just note the floating room are not meant to have toilets in the room on the river.
If into Flowers and Gardens, there is the park at the last BTS & MRT near JJ markets, and Nong Nooch Gardens down in Pattaya is good for several hours (400 baht is the tourist price for this private tourist attraction which is illegal to do double pricing), last time I took people there, some buses from BKK. Factor in jet lag for a couple of days, and the heat will whack her, time will fly. For most, that are not well traveled in Asia, just stuff around your condo will be enough to interest her and see you.

Its reasons like this that you just cant beat island nations for sovereignty.
No one can mass with China anymore. They are the biggest economy power and soon military power
Fact is China is not the biggest economy, not even close, that is fact.
And you will find that USA spends 13.4 times more on military than china alone each year. I agree though that it is concerning how china is developing many naval bases in the Indian Ocean particular, mainly to provide military support for the sea lanes to Africa that it has 'bought'. It will be a concern when China a a blue water navy. ie aircraft carries with a supporting ships. I believe that China has also taken large amount of resources from Laos as well, (I mean agreements for the rights). Anyway, China is no where near the largest economy to correct you.
