    Wow.

    This sheit is gettin' real.

    Questions

Number of cases in Pattaya vs. the province?

I assume supermarkets will still be open and they're talking about closing local fresh markets.

An issue with that is it would make supermarkets more crowded.

What is the definition of the borders of Pattaya for this enforcement proposal? Are Jomtien and Naklua part of it or not?

Will any baht buses keep running?

Will packages from outside still be allowed in such as Lazada orders?

I don't understand allowing hair salons remaining open in the context of these definitely more severe restrictions.

I would hazard a guess that both Jomtien and Naklua are considered part of Pattaya city.

baht buses, do not know, again a guess. they will run day time.

I have stopped using them and am just staying in naklua.

Have 90 day report due soon though.

Yes, hairdressers being allowed to stay open is puzzling, I thought they had been ordered to close some time back.

Shame about open air markets, there is a little one near me  that have some handy food stands.

    It did not get crowded.

    Guess it will get closed.

It certainly seems as though we are getting restricted more.

It has been announced that they found COVID antibodies in a couple of dogs in Hong Kong, announced by the government.

For those who don't understand what this means I will spell it out - it means that the virus infected the dog, the dogs immune system then reacted and produced antibodies which enabled it to recover.

These antibodies have since been detected in the dogs blood.

It's thought that they don't catch it as easily as humans, they (the Chinese) also said this about person to person transmission in January.

yes, read about that several days ago.

Amazed at friends who want to interact with the street strays, cats and dogs.

I will not even touch one.

A family pet I can understand albeit when so much is unknown might be best to err on the side of caution.

  3. A fair few restaurants within 5 minutes walk from me were open today, one still is.

    Did not go to any.

One has a sign, ready for tomorrow, take out/delivery only.

    Fair enough.

I think there will be a couple that will still do dine in.

    Could be wrong.

Prefer eat at home for now.

  4. My recent experience is that the majority of Thais are not wearing masks.

I was about to enter my local 7/11, sans mask when I noticed a sign, English and Thai requesting shoppers to wear a mask.

Fair enough, do not wear one but had one packed.

    Put it on, entered store.

6 other customers, none wearing masks, all Thai.

Tesco Express, similar sign with also social distancing rules.

Put on my mask, yes it is useless but hey they request it.

2 Thais ignored the social distancing rules, pushed in front, Thai staff happy to serve them ahead of me yet I was first in line.

    Majority of Thais, no mask..

Friend of mine was declined entry to Tesco Express without a mask, foreigner.

Within 1 minute 2 Thais entered, without masks, no problem.

Out of here as soon as flight to my preferred country available.

Could be quite some months away though.

  5. Hi

Planning a very similar trip, Bangkok to Milan, likely Malpensa airport.About the end of March.

Not yet booked.  Would stay in the northern area.

Only concern really is a flight cancellation or refusal of entry.

According to reports, they are temperature testing at Malpensa, rightly so.

Not concerned about getting stuck in Italy.Would only book 1 way.

    Also following developments.

  6. I also have a similar decision to make.

Had planned to go from Thailand to Italy for a summer break, originally planned to leave Thailand  in May but wanted to bring the date forward, e.g.. about the end of March. Not yet booked anything.

Main concern would be booking and then being unable to travel due to either travel restrictions or cancellations.

It's a quite simple concept to grasp once one looks at the overall score or reputation someone has. If you give a laugh they get plus one on their reputation count, same as a like or a thanks. Confused and sad do NOT give an addition to their reputation and hence, credibility.

I see a lot of far right and far left posters making outrageous claims and being laughed at, which gives them a positive score, when one of the negative ones might have been more appropriate.

Most people from the tone of their post know if someone is laughing with them, or at them, and the other emojis are even simpler.

I never  knew that re. the laugh emoji.

I use it mostly if I find something funny, there are some posters on here with sharp wits.

Confess I have used it on a few occasions when I feel a post is outlandish.

Anyway gave you a Thanks as at least I learned  something albeit far more important things in life than emojis and their useage.

  8. I wonder why the Italy numbers are so high and with recent cases rising fairly fast.

Fairly popular with Chinese visitors but would not have though much more, if any more, than some other European countries.

Maybe they have more advanced screening.

All just thoughts, could be wrong.

Poor news for me, had already set my mind to go there in early May, from BKK to Milan, not yet booked but will press on with it, probably go earlier.

So glad to be leaving Thailand soon, indeed the whole of SE Asia. A region full of corrupt governments completely lacking in any democracy (yes I include Malaysia, Singapore in that).

Thailand is the epitome of greed.

Thai people don't care two hoots about you (your Thai wife cares more about her cellphone than you).

Get out while you can. There are much better places in the world to be. Thailand is dangerous. Thailand has bad air. Thailand has had it's day for westerners - it's all about Chinese and Indians from now. You are not welcome, and in truth, have not been since 2002.

    Hi

I certainly agree with your statement that there are much better places to be, as well as the gist of your entire post.

Where are you choosing as a replacement if I may  ask?

They used to offer courses at The Fountain of Life in Naklua, soi 25 I think it is.

Correct and yes it is on soi 25.

The girlfriend of a friend of mine did the hairdressing course there about a year or so ago.

A friend of mine teaches there ( French) I will ask if they still run the hairdressing course there when I next seem him.

From what I hear the place has a good reputation
