  1. Hi

I went to the Italian restaurant on soi Excite, formerly no name now called "Pizza Italy" on Saturday night..

I`ve been before and still rate it as amongst the best available, provided you like (very) thin crust pizza.

Ham, mushroom, cheese and tomato pizza at 220 baht.

Glass of house wine 80 baht..

I spoke briefly to the owner who said he will extend the opening hours from 11.00PM closing to 1.00AM closing next month,

handy for a late night person such as myself.

I rate it ahead of Pizza Big, wasn`t impressed when I ate there, and of other places I`ve tried only La Grotta soi 33 naklua

and Swiss Food soi Diamond got close.

Just my own personal opinion and well aware people`s tastes and likes vary.

  2. Hi

As already mentioned it`s probably the Jolly Friar on soi lengkee.

I ate there a few days ago for the first time and thought it was good and reasonably priced.:)

  3. In regards to your question, I think the same as you, if the wine is too expensive it would discourage me from going.

Small restaurant I used to go to charges 75 baht, decent size glass, very reasonable I thought.

Gullivers is too expensive at 185 baht.

I noticed a cafe bar/restaurant in naklua, soi 12 was charging 250 baht:blink: for a glass of house wine, that`s the highest I`ve seen and no I didn`t stop for one

  4. I like it, seems to have a fair few customers when I`ve been in.

I guess it`s luck of the draw with freelancers, one time recently was there just for drinks with friends and there was a dozen or so in there,

another time went alone and wasn`t much choice at all.

Food seemed OK when I`ve eaten there, not often.

To answer syd, I think my Tiger bottles were 60 baht give or take 5 baht.

    Leo bottles are 55 baht.

Can of diet coke a very reasonable 30 baht, cheaper than many other bars.

Good place to meet up with friends for drinks and a chat, music volume very low.

  5. did you count the cigs in the pack?? we bought some last year in Cambodia, and there were only 16 to a pack!! so not quite the deal that we thought!. BTW, the original post was quite old, so maybe no one is reading it anymore.

    Hi

Yes, 14 cigs to a pack, 15 packs to a carton so 210 cigs total carton quantity, as of last month, 5% more than a thai carton.

I prefer the smaller pack size.

BTW the visa run minbus was stopped on the return, didn`t get searched but the visa run guide said it has happened

and a big fine could be imposed if bringing in more than the 1 carton allowed.

  6. Hi

I also buy a carton of L&M blue when I do a Cambodia visa run.

Used to pay 150 baht but last time the shop wouldn`t budge down from 180 baht.

I find them to be OK,never tried any of the other types/brands.

  7. Hi

Does anyone have a list of places that it can be collected from? sometimes get it from

outside an estate agent in naklua but they haven`t always got it

In any of the main shopping centres maybe?

    Thanks:)
