You should read this one. Reasonable points made yet rude reply from owner. Beer and coke have no expiry date? I'd challenge him to drink a 5 years old beer from a bottle and we'll see about that.
Edit: Is this some kind of comedian?
QuoteGuests did stay at backpackers before , so the smell of fresh linen and fully renovated hotel may well be unpleasant.

It doesn't matter how fake the reviews are in this case. A guy who puts up a website and openly advertises a 60 Baht charge on "how to operate the safe" is clearly either greedy or in the wrong spot by being in the 'hospitality' industry.
And to be honest, apart from ONE youth hostel in Australia I have never stayed in anywhere in the world where I couldn't drink my own beer in my own room. This guy is a joke.

I think nowadays most banks will block transactions outside the country by default and you'll have to talk to your bank before going abroad anyway.
-
Apart from not drinking beer from 7-11 on your balcony (strictly forbidden) the hotel has another couple of outrageous charges:
Lose key and tag: 2000 Baht
Bloodstain the bed linen: 3500 Baht

This might be true but most cards I know of from the U.S. unless you ask them to remove the limit is $500.00 so based on the exchange rate currently you might at 16,000 baht.
I'm from Europe and with all of my bank accounts I can adjust the limit in my online banking. Takes less than a minute.

Sounds like a nice guy. Especially when he is straight out lying in his responses for everyone to see
QuoteThailand does not have 1/10 or 1/5 or 1/3 or 1/2 of 1 baht so amount was rounded to the nearest baht 2156 baht
Guest refused to pay 2156 baht and stated he will only pay 2155.50 (note amount owed is 2155.60)
To put it in perspective, 1/2 a baht is $0.01
Staff obliged providing guest pays with exact change as there is no 1/2 baht change. No? What's the 50 Satang coins for then? I'm not saying he should use them but to deny they exist is just a lie.

You've got no chance around Nana and very little around Asoke.
So not true. Just get in and state your destination. Don't open the door and ask for "meter?". I spent about 2 weeks this year in the Nana area and except for very short rides have always paid the meter price.

Just returned from Kuala Lumpur. $0 ATM fees for foreign debit cards. How civilized.
To be fair, some banks do charge. Also depends on your own card. Some ATM might or might not charge a fee, depending on your card. Haven't worked this one out. Has something to do with the card issuer, not just VISA/Mastercard.

Please note that the bus will depart once it is full. Don’t worry, though, as we have buses departing Phuket Airport every hour.
This doesn't sound too bad. I refuse to take a scam taxi and making them profit and the minibus is also a waste of time with their tour stop thing. So worst case would be a 59 minutes wait if the quote is correct?
Sorry for derailing the topic but it's also about affordable transportation with AirAsia and all.

What ever happened to their freshly bought buses to serve the new Airport-Patong/Karon/Kata route? The website is offline.

I get where you're coming from, but buying one for $13 requires some knowledge and advance planning that's not a strong point for holiday makers on a lark.
So you don't think 300 Baht is taking the piss? You could nearly BUY one of these for the same amount.
I always thought 30-50 Baht is okay for a chair (as is in 99% of Thai beaches)... Okay, so this is Phuket, let's fork out 100 Baht and deal with it.
But IMO 300 Baht cannot be justified in ANY way.

Is that a rental price? I remember when they used to sell for $100 in Europe, but now they can be bought online for around $10-20.
Exactly. They cost $13 on AliExpress and take about 5 seconds to fill up. Anyone paying the equivalent of one day's wages for renting one is pretty clueless IMO.
-
Ads for alcohol forbidden? Check.
Drinking beer on the beach prohibited? Check.
So let's put a big freaking CHANG logo on the chair. It's only advertising mineral water, you know.

Just take an Uber. Shouldn't be more than 500 Baht. If they are not operating anymore (there was some news report?) check the Grab fare or arrange private transport. It is really not that far.
Public transport seems to be a bit of a pain.

You don't show up at 340pm at immigration ever....
Actually it's about the best time for extending tourist visas in Pattaya as there is usually zero queue (Tuesday-Thursday).

I don't know, but if they are available in other regions then when worse comes to worse he could just add some VPN in his router.

I think in 2017 Android TV is the gold standard for both apps and functionality.
You ever seen Web OS? I have the old version (2.0) and it's simply awesome.

Personally I wouldn't even consider buying a Smart "anything" in 2017 that didn't have Wireless connectivity
I have wired all the TVs in my house. The connection (especially response time) is much more stable. I you want to use anything close to your line capacity (that is 4K with a narrow bandwith) I recommend wiring for not having any data loss from wireless transfer.

The problem with Smart TVs, as they're known, is they can pretty much stagnate after being released.
....
Nice write-up, but remember op is considering an LG model. No problems there.

Probably not the browser but an extension like Ghostery. When I disable Ghostery the video works for me.

Here in Germany we use these keys all the time and the vast majority of the sellers have over 99.5% positive feedback so the keys must work, right?
The only thing that actually was illegal was one large company selling company volume keys to the public and illegally burning seemingly original Windows discs for that.
-
Op was asking about the validity of the keys on Ebay, nothing to do with upgrading. If he buys a key he might as well get a Windows 10 one. The price difference to the price of a Win 7 key is not that big.

Of course nobody in here was ever young, did a few too many tequila shots while on holiday and then embarrassed themselves. Give the guy a break, he probably regrets the thing already.

In his defense there is a VERY slim chance that he was drunk and sleepwalking.

And add 300 Baht joiner fee to that if the room was not booked for 2 people :).
