  1. Couple of tackle stores in Rangsit area that are really well stocked, I love using 4 and 8lb test in local ponds for talapia and catfish. Just got to watch the cats as they stretch your line quite a bit. I am using ultralight reels and 7ft med light rods and having a ball!

  2. We were sold 2 puppies, supposedly yorkies, with papers from KCoT,, they looked a little pointed in the face, but I have seen this before, They were at 7 weeks. We now have, I'm sure a cross looks like palmerainion and yorkie. Is there a recourse for getting a refund for high fee paid for a registered puppy. When we got puppies, pen next to it had adult yorkies, so we lowered our guard. What to do??

  3. Must use 2 boxes of cake mix, one MUST Be Angel Food, the other can use any flavoryou choose I used chocolate fudge. Mix both boxes in a 1 gallon ziplock bag and shake good. Using a small coffee cup or a small bowl, use 3 tablespoons of cake mixure, 2 Tablespoons waters, and put in microwave for 1 minute, Done, and now you have a lot of premix for future snacks, enjoy this little trick I stumbled on!

  4. ^^^^^^,

the wrong location can kill a business, yet again two words spring to mind, Chocloate Ville, located in the ass end of nowhere in Bkk, yet the masses flock there in their droves.

I wish you well in your venture, I am waiting to eat your products.

Sorry to say have seen it all before, on these 3 years leases, the landowner gives a sweet deal to get you in.

Then kicks you out and tries to copy your business.

    Best of luck.

There is or used to be a place in Bangkok called the Great American Rib. As much as I like smoked BBQ, I refuse to eat there because I think the food is way overpriced (yes, I can afford it, but that is not the point). The menu is also confused with both smoked BBQ and Mexican items. And no beef brisket or sausage is served. The best smoked BBQ places that I have ever eaten at have the following characteristics: the menu is very simple, the interior is very simple, the owners focus on doing a few things the right way, the portions are large, and the prices are reasonable. Now I am hungry for a combination beef brisket and sausage sandwich! Thais might actually like smoked chicken/sausage/ribs with the right sauce (e.g. tamarin sauce). I think you will have to attract Thais to make a profit.

Great American Ribs was on the high side of price, but their pulled pork sanwiches were as good as any I got back in NC, wife loved the chili with its big beef chunks, and their ribs were grat, soft and full of flavor, and their sauce, just needed a kick of heat to make it better. The Nachos were woth us driving for a treat on thos e lazy days. My opinion would be they were great and have no idea why they closed. I lived in NC for the last 16 years before comming here, and would kill for some good pulled pork and vinegar based sauce, but my ribs I love hot as hell, some hushpuppies, cole slaw and Ice tea, thats a meal!!

  5.

Old El Paso brand jalapenos are in Tops and Foodland.  A poster named Kikoman claimed to grow them, here.  But he disappeared  off the board around the time of the coup.

Can find lot of jarred peppers, just looking for raw peppers for stuffing with cheese and sausage, then freezing.
Kings project stores said not sure when they will get them again due to season, Villa usually has import, cannot even get them!
  6. Looking for anyone who knows or grows Japaleno peppers? Looking for 3-5 kilos and can' find any in usual places in Bankcock. I stuff and freeze for later use, but now need some for a party and looking Bangkok, or having shipped from elsewhere!
  7. I want Twizzlers!!!

I have several items imported every couple months and though expensive, I love the pull and peel twizzlers in strawberry, cherry, and cinnomon. I have learned if you can't find it here, pay the toll and Amazon the hell out of it!

  8. Just checked Amazon on the Margherita brand that is Vacuum sealed, 8 oz sticks at an average of $15 per pound USD. They also have the unsealed sticks and bundles at a better price, but customs requirement fo vacuum sealed to bring in dry meat is not only an obsticle, but a big jump in cost. Hope this helps, check out Amazon.com.

  9. I would argue that Bridgford is not pepperoni either. A real good pepperoni doesn't have much give when you squeeze the stick. Now if you want good pepporoni may I suggest:

    https://www.labriolaitalianmarkets.com/proddetail.asp?prod=187

That pepperoni is the Margharitas brand and is indeed a great peppeoni, but it is not vacuum sealed for legal shipment and cost ia little higher, but also smaller sticks! Most stores won't ship to Thailand, but I think it can be bought at Amazon.com also. I have eat'n a lot of the Margharitas brand as well as the Armour brand. A lot has to do with how much fat is added and how long hung for cure. Bridefored will not mold and can last in unsealed package for well over a year, and price is right for the 1 pound sticks. Last time I tried to get some here, with no heavy vacuum seal, it sweat through package and was seized. Good luck and if you find a connection as well, I will buy from you for a premium price, as I learned the hard way sometimes you get your stuff and a lot of times you don't, like the 5 lb bag of bulk candy I ordered and received only 3 lbs and had several inspection tags!!

  10. The farang food available in Thailand is agony. The meat they pass off as pepperoni is not even a decent sausage. I order chicken breasts for delivery and the chicken pieces are not even breasts. I got some pepperoni from Casa Fellini in the RomPho Market complex and it was fantastic. I mentioned it to her and she admitted her friends bring(smuggle) it from Italy for her.

I have been using WOW for delivery and the food is.......disappointing.

    What can a farang do?

Bite the bullit and order form US and pay the price. I have US pepperoni here for now and order every couple months, save you some money but shipping by boat and a takes a month or to! If you want some US pepperoni now, I can spare a couple sticks,@ 400 thbt, and that will include shipping thai post to your door!

  11. Why don't the Thais think of extra ways to make money? Hundreds of needs here that are never met...

Someone could make a killing with a lot of items just not available once you move here. Canned goods, spices, canned drinks, even candy. I buy a lot of stuff from the Villa Market, but things are very limited, and cost as much as buying and having shipped. They also have a problem, they get a stock in of things, that sell super fast, then you can't even get them special order from them.
