  1. I thought the last election accurately reflected the will of the people.

Large minorities voted for the PPP and the Democrats. The smaller minorities and the Democrats have formed government. That's similar to what happened in England, isn't it?

    Pretty much yes.

I though the Blue have most seat, Red second, and Yellow third, in the last election?

The Blue went on to form the government with the Yellow, as far as I know.

Or did the Red or Yellow form the government?

I might have mistaken, if so I apologies.

  2. I wonder if they will identify the 150b international transaction ATM fee as being unfair?!...somehow I think not!

or the charge they make you pay for changing small change into notes, and the fee i was once charged for paying in 3000 baht in small change into my account, apparently to pay for the time and energy taken to count the money that was already counted and bagged ready for the teller to put it on their money scales.

International fee is beyond Bank of Thailand jurisdiction.

Anyway, you people can afford it.

  3. Maybe, just maybe, the Red-shirt managed to steal it for the second time.

Why not, they did it in the 1st time.

It is almost impossible for the DSI to steal it themselves, as they are the law enforcer themselves.

Please follow this story and see if justice is served. Law enforcers is not the correct statement for them, its Law abusers......

I can predict the outcome. Nothing will happen, the story will disappear and will blow over where the jewelry owner probably has no insurance on his assets and DSI will continue on adding performance of their unsolved crimes to their everlasting list.

Its funny to think that when a criminal is caught, all these news come out but not once do they announce the conviction and terms of imprisonment or trial dates etc..

So if DSI did not steal it, could it be the police or the army? Unlikely too, as they are good people that protect Thais from bad people (like the thieves that stole it).

  4. Phone call in Thailand are all recorded by the service providers.

I had no idea. Is that really true? ALL phone calls? Who on earth listens to them all?

Hope they listen to the wrong numbers made to my phone, the disconnects, the nothings (silence) etc. Someone has a lot more confidence in the communication system than I do. This must be another village rumor.

Voice compression & storage is so cheap now. Yes, my neighbor works for an IT companies and provides hard disk storage & tapes backup to calls.

  5. Why was it banned in the first place? It could almost be a PR add for the government but it obviously isn't as it got banned first.

There is only one small clip of soldier with a gun the rest are shots of burning building and people cleaning up BKK

So basically what the video says is no body is to blame but Thai people as a "Whole" and we should try to forget about it and not let it happen again.

Here is another video to promote reconciliation. The massage if you don't keep quite you will be arrested!

I think this click will be more popular that the "Sorry Thailand" one.

This guy just did not respect the law.

No one must shout under the SOE (unless you are the police, then OK).

I hope he go to jail for life, for shouting in public.

  6. Loxley: 3G Available This Year

Loxley executive vice president said 3G technology will be officially made available to the public within the year.

Loxley plans to differentiate itself from the competition by presenting itself as the one true provider of 3G service with its new trademark.

Suroj Lamsa, executive vice president of Loxley, which is a current 3G frequency carrier on the TOT network, said the possibility of converting mobile phone concessions to pave the way for 3G licenses will ensure fairness for bidders and provide the maximum benefits to users. He expects 3G to be made officially available within the year.

In anticipation of the 3G frequency, Loxley will introduce its aircard under a new trademark called 'i-Kool Real 3G' in an effort to differentiate itself as the real provider of 3G technology as opposed to other major companies operating 3G systems on a trial basis.

Suroj said Loxley have about 10,000 existing customers and each pays an average 400 baht service fee every month.

They will be introducing new trademark and after-sales services via counter service, which is expected to increase the number of Loxley clients to 30,000 over the next eighteen months.

I think I am beginning to smell a rat here.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

So the FM want to revoke old concession given to the 3 operators (AIS, DTAC & TRUE)

And issue new one to LOXLEY (they will be the highest bidder I am sure, as they might have access to the sealed enveloped).

Than LOXEY will run all communications as a monopoly.

And who own Loxley? Maybe FM?

  7. There are around a thousand Khmer-built, Angkor-era temple sites throughout northeastern Thailand. The issue is not Preah Vihar itself or the land it occupies but the adjacent area still in dispute and not ruled on by the ICJ. The Thai government is posing no objections to the ICJ ruling.

Bingo. Northern East Thailand should be returned to Cambodia. You said it all.

I don't think that North East Thailand should be returned to Cambodia, but annexed and become a "free state" with its own government body, since it is exploited by so many and supported by so few. BTW Rucharee there is nothing "Thai" about Preah Vihear.

Maybe your so call "free state" should be ruled by Thaksin?

  8. Why give rights to farangs.

They don't even belong to this country.

So, you think that everybody should stay in their own country? Of course, this excludes the money brought in by tourists.

Do I detect a tiny level of xenophobia?

I think retardation is more likely with said poster.

    ...or culturally induced xenophobia. :(

Take a look at yourselves in the mirror. No matter what, Farangs are not Thais, and cannot be Thai.

  9. Is it an offense to say that the the Thai government official, especially those in charge of law enforcement, for telling lies?

My guess is nowhere will we find anything officially in writing about what the officials said."Someone" (unknown) tipped off the media. The gullible media printed it. No-one bothered to check. If the statement that nothing was found on the computer is true, officials will deny that anyone ever said anything to the contrary. So no-one told lies! All part of Thai justice. String 'em up first and let's see what plays out!

Phone call in Thailand are all recorded by the service providers.

  10. Thai opposition to hold celebration for Thaksin's 61st birthday

Thailand's opposition Puea Thai Party (PTP) will hold a celebration on July 26 to mark the 61st birthday of ousted former Thai Premier Thaksin Shinawatra at a temple in the northern Chiang Mai province, PTP MP for Chiang Mai Surapong Towichakchaikul said on Monday.

The Bangkok Post's website quoted Surapong as saying the ceremony, which will be held in the morning, will be hosted by Thaksin's aunt Chansom Shinawatra.

Thaksin's supporters are invited to join the ceremony as it is expected there would be thousands of his supporters to be present at the ceremony, he said.

The ceremony, which will begin with a religious food offering for monks at Rongtham Temple in Sankampaeng District of Chiang Mai, will be followed by floating lanterns and balloons into the sky, he said.

Thaksin will phone-in to thank his supporters on that day.

Surapong said he is confident the birthday celebration, which will be held in a religious style, will not breach the emergency decree effective in the province.

Thaksin was ousted by the military coup in September, 2006, in accusation of massive corruption, and kept in exile since then. Thaksin returned to Thailand in February 2008 to face corruption charges, but he later fled into exile again and was convicted in absentia.

    Is he still alive?

I have many internet links that said otherwise.

  11. Taiwan denies Surachai being trained on its soil

Taiwan yesterday dismissed allegations that it was being used as training ground for a suspected terrorist who had close connections with late Maj-General Khattiya Sawasdipol, as well as the red-shirt movement.

Taipei's Office of Economic and Culture sent a diplomatic note to the Foreign Ministry asking Thai authorities to clarify a report filed by the Department of Special Investigation that terrorist suspect Surachai "Rang" Thewarat was getting trained in armed combat in Taiwan.

The office said the report was groundless since Taiwanese authorities had no records of Surachai entering its territory over the past year.

Taiwan is a safe haven for terrorist?

    Maybe.

Russian Composer, accused of committing sex acts with a minor, appears in Pattaya Court

PATTAYA: -- The famous Russian Composer, Mr. Mikhail Pletnev, who is currently facing charges of committing sexual acts against a minor under the age of 15, appeared at the Pattaya Provincial Court on Monday Morning in accordance with his bail conditions which state he must report to the court every 12 days. 13. :ermm:

Abhisit wont abide by the international court rulings. People from other countries who do not have vested interests. But he expects Thaksin to abide by the Thai courts rulings. The democrat party need to have an election for a new leader and PM. The democrats need someone with integrity and accountability who cares about their people and country, someone who abides by the laws and does not interfere in the due processes. Surely it cannot be that hard to find someone. How about a women OOPS would the Thai's with money accept that.

    :bah:

    Amazing Thailand = Ironic Thailand.

  14. There is no corruption left in Thailand, since the day PAD chase Thaksin away.

That is a false statement - stop trolling Rucharee.

    OK. I rephrase that.

"There are little corruption left in Thailand, since the day PAD chase Thaksin away."

Now, can you challenge this statement?

You're either a master of sarcasm or slightly deluded me thinks. I respect your desire to defend your country's reputation but can you honestly say that the Thai police force is a non-corrupt organisation?!?

I agree that there are some corruption left especially the police (who is corrupted primarily by Thaksin in the 1st place).

However, IMHO, corruption as a whole have significantly reduced.

    Can't you feel that?
