  1. I don't care if Farangs want to go home.

Why? Is it because you don't care about any advances in Thailand's development that a falang may be responsible for? Mai son jai is a very Thai trait.

I don't care if Farangs want to go home.

Because Farangs go home in the thousands everyday.

Don't believe me, go and have a look in Bangkok airport.

I am not about to stop them. "Son Jai" or "Mai Son Jai"

  2. They have been arrested on terrorist charges and remanded in custody untill such time as they can be brought to court.

How do you know this when the people who have been arrested have not been told what they are being charged with?

They had warrents out for their arrests and turned themselves in to the police so they knew beforehand what they were charged with.

Have a look at the link and all the BS comments that went with it

    http://www.thaivisa....-police-office/

You seem to be forgetting the other four hundred people who were picked up, imprisoned and not charged - perhaps by now they have been- can somebody clarify? And while your at it- do the authorities require even a court issued warrant to pick some one up under the S of E?

Under SOE, No. No court warrent is needed.

Example, during the operation, they arrest people and put them to jail. They don't even know the name of these people rounded up, how could a warrant be served?

  3. Almost any other "1st world" country (I am well aware of the state of this country but it would appear that even the government believes its own propaganda) would simply make everybody go home at the end of day 1. I'm convinced there are probably laws that allow this kind of dispersal (same techniques used at sporting events), why not here?

So they use war machines and equipments (tanks and machines guns with LIFE bullets) in dispersal of sport events in your country?

Nice to know that Thailand & Burma are not alone.

Life bullets - now there's an oxymoron... blink.gifunsure.gif

  4. Does anyone know how many fighter jets Thai Military have and how many aircraft carriers?

Where do the keep the carriers? and when do they use the fighter jets?

They have one aircraft carrier, that can carry about a dozen planes or copters. About 60 F-16s, plus 12 Grippens from Sweden on order to replace their old F-5s.

The aircraft carrier cannot operate normal plane. Only jump jets and helicopters.

I wonder why they buy it in the first place.

Most jump jets (bought 2nd hand) is now broken.

  5. Seems like corruption is an everyday occurence in thai politics. Even Abhisit is not squeaky clean. Is anyone?

Corruption is in every country... it is not just in Thailand.

Finally, things will be better and Thai people will have to right to elect a government (for the last two years, there was no elected government).

    Truth wins at last...

Why do you call yourself Ajarn? have you lectured at a Thai University??

Mark is 100% clean. Thaksin is otherwise.

  6. Isn't Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya also alleged to be a terrorist?

I think the case in permanently been delayed in court, until the 10 years time limit is up.

Here we go again, K. Rucharee, get your facts right before you type.

    - No he hasn't been charged with terrorism

    - Just two days ago the police and appropriate authoroties released a progress report in regard to the processing o charges against the PAD members. No it's not permanently delayed.

    - Is the time limit 10 years? Are you sure of that? My lawyer doesn't agree with you.

Can you give a link to the 'progress report'?

And i remember well that Kasit together with a couple of PAD leaders was charged with terrorism by the police. That were the headlines just one year ago in July 2009.

Scorecard, I have to agree with Kissdani.

  7. they should also arrest Thaksins missus first for the land scandal deal, lets try to stick to the point here and not in the past.

They already arrested her for the land scandal case and at trial, she was found not guilty.

She was, however, found guilty of tax evasion in another case involving hundreds of millions of baht that she deprived the people of Thailand of enjoying its benefits had it been paid into the National Treasury.

This conviction and a subsequent 3 year prison term was handed down on July 21, 2008. She was released on bail after her conviction and remains free to this day (along with her brother on the left and her secretary on the right who were also found guilty and given prison sentences). Until such time that she enters prison, this "past" event is very much "current".

btw, the title of the video derives from Thaksin's daughter, Paethongtan, reaction to the verdict being read out for her mother and uncle and occurs at 00:40 of the video.

I thought that no recordings are allowed in a court room?

  8. I for one don't understand why the SOE still exists in many provinces when, for weeks, there has been no visible anti-government activity on the streets....of Bangkok. Sure, in time, the Reds will grow in strength again. But as we saw last time, if the military take action any serious protest is done and dusted before dinner time.

Sure, in time, the Reds will grow in strength again. The SOE is to delay it as long as possible.

  9. I wonder if there are any government projects that are not plagued by corruption. Just imagine how rich this country could be if they even just cut corruption in half & then spread it around to those truly in need. Unfortunately those who benefit from large scale corruption are usually quite obscenely wealthy anyway.

Yes. The GT200 project was not plagued by corruption.

Have you heard of another being arrested, not to be mention, charged, in the GT200 purchase scandal?

This proves that the GT200 project is super clean with no corruption.

Bravo Mark, you are the best.

  10. Bringing back former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra to Thailand and reinstatement of the 2007 Constitution would be two main key policies for next election campaign of Puea Thai Party, MPs chairman Chalerm Yubamrung said on Saturday.

Mr Chalerm said the opposition camp will also inform voters that it would move ahead with the populist policy initiated by the now defunct Thai Rak Thai Party, such as 30 baht for curing all diseases and village fund.

The veteran politician said his party will also come up with a law to grant amnesty to yellow and red-shirt protesters facing criminal and political charges after the September 19, 2006 military coup.

He was confident that Puea Thai party's MP candidate, Korkaew Pikulthong, would win the July 25 by election in Bangkok's constituency 6.

Mr Korkaew, being detained in prison on charge of terrorism, is a co-leader of the pro-Thaksin United front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD).

Mr Chalerm also believed that the Bhumjaithai Party, the main coalition partner of the Democrat-led government, would win no more than 18 MP seats in the North and Northeast in the next election.

From the paper we arn't allowed to mention or link to

So there we have it the full election manifesto of PTP.

Wonder if they chose Korkaew because if the PTP lose heavily they will have an excuse by saying it was because the Govt kept him locked up and wouldn't let him campaign.

I've just read that article, titled "PT: "Bring Thaksin back" is a key policy" published on 3 July 2010.

So Peua Thai now openly state that bringing Thaksin back is one of their main goals.

Since Peua Thai supported the protests, this means that the protests were all about Thaksin all along, not about democracy nor class divisions. They sure fooled a lot of people.

Where are all those idiot UDD cheerleaders on Thai Visa now, many who had said the protests had nothing to do with Thaksin?

They have all gone to hel_l.

  11. a staggering level of benevolence
Thaksin must have noticed that the Gates Foundation work around Asia has not covered Thailand, so he is doing his best to help Thailand by donating some footballs and a football lesson, giving some peasants a free trip to England, and giving an old woman 1000 THB.

Thailand don't needs Gates money. No thanks, we are rich enough.

Thailand only need pirated Gates software. Thank you very much.
