I call this fake news... no photo of the fool who "lost" the wallet, no photo of who "returned" the wallet, no finger pointing, no photo of half the RTP.

Quite often things "happen in mysterious ways" needing skeptics to eat their own words, so even if this was fake news, lets hope if ever Oz999 is guilty of being a "fool" and is the receiver of a similar heartwarming gesture, there will be a another glimmer of hope for humanity and goodness knows we need this more than ever.

B.T.W. what a different outcome to the recent ASAEN NOW article about the empty wallet found in the street and that good samaritan was temporarily in hot water.

Dont be led down the BS path by governments and environmentalists about EVs, their delushional people living in a fairy tale world. My next car will be another ICE vehicle.

Stay with it DUNROAMIN,  even though petrol stations will inevitably have less bowsers and more E.V. chargers meaning all the more for the E.V. owners who might need it, (not me) and all the less for the likes of you.

Again: please stay with it DUNROAMIN. :jap:

Well, I read it and at least it's useful information. Unlike the pi$$ing competition between two of the posters earlier in the thread.

Well said. No-one will probably read this dead discussion now but my Thai sister in law  goes one better:- "get real, because when you are hungry, everything is arroy". delicious.    For me Thai food is still the best.

Methane much more likely cause than hydrogen sulfide.

Ah yes RocketDog that is more plausable.     Methane is an odorless, colorless, flammable gas.   and its density is about half that of air and had there been a vent it might not have been there in the tank, so it had been leaking into the kitched for yonks just waiting for someone to braze over that gap. What bad luck. . .  (The flammability limit of the gas is a concentration in air from 5 to 15%.)          So the householders actually may never have smelt H2S, and the fridge technician may have only smelt and blamed  H2S after the disruptive explosion but the real culprit could have been CH4 methane.

  5. Siftasam, please fast track me to your best suggested links to two songs on your list because as you say:- Osaka Jazz Channel on You Tube. It's a large channel,

#1. the photographers song:- "Some day my prints will come".

#2. that Thai astronaut song:- "Fry me to the moon"

I'd only heard of two kinds of music before:- Country, and Western and because you say  "Now you has Jazz",   so please open our ears to the stuff you like.

An added on kitchen over septic tanks Mmmm nice. 🤮 a properly vented tank would not have a build up of gas.

Agree Brian. And the brazing equipment was on the tank lid, the hissing was probably the expanding start of burning of the H2S in the tank, which got too much so then half that lid lifted in the following fiery explosion. Its a wonder a small stinky leak hadnt been detected before but "H2S is slightly denser than air", and   "Hydrogen sulfide (also known as H2S, sewer gas, swamp gas, stink damp, and sour damp) is a colorless gas known for its pungent "rotten egg" odor at low concentrations. It is extremely flammable and highly toxic."     So if no vent, the toilet was flushed, a slight buildup of tank pressure pushing H2S slightly upward, through a gap in the cover, no floor coverings there, bad timing, the brazing tech got burnt, and the rest was history except for the ongoing blame dispute.   Sounds feasible to me but at the start the story had so many incongruencies.

  7. So she for this supposed "immoral" act in trying to make a living, and her arrest led to even one day in that prison for example, where someone we know spent only hours when it should be what... 8 years?, we know what wouldn't  happen if she too feigned a medical reason to be transferred to a hospital.

What used to be the L.O.S. :-  maybe change the S to S.S. (sickening stupidity?)

    OMG Thailand, whats happening?

Well in most developed countries, if you find something on the floor that is not yours  and pick it up then take it to lost property at the airport, in this particular case, or the police, wouldn't you  you be doing someone a favor?

Whether it's lawful or not in Thailand, the words above sadly seem inapplicable given  so much high level corruption "seems to be" happening lately in L.O.S.

Developed countries have an "innocent until proven guilty" policy but

AboutThaim's g.f. luckily dodged jail? when she handed in an emptied wallet to the p.p.

Mmmm.. the Dane quickly went to the disabled toilet and they are more likely to be vacant, isolated and quickly locked.  The Dane has Done his Dash?

Is it OK in other countries to  pick up property that is not yours? Really?

Regardless, a discarded wallet would be a pretty sure sign its been emptied of cash like the near miss with the  p.p. as AbouThiam shared with us about his g.f. , but then how about the many heart warming posts where several Thai taxi drivers have actively sought out their last passengers to return their dropped cash in the taxi? Decisions decisions.

Have you tried Thai "black eggs"? Khai lu khai. otherwise know as "son in law testicles"?    Delicious. Fair dinkum mate.:licklips:

  11. So sad and  will anyone ever know if that drug addict started on Cannabis which still has a cloud over it as a potential psychological gateway drug?

What has Thailand done? watch this space.

From this National Institute of Drug Abuse reputable website    https://nida.nih.gov/publications/drugfacts/cannabis-marijuana

    comes this:-

Research suggests that between 9 and 30 percent of those who use marijuana may develop some degree of marijuana use disorder.25 People who begin using marijuana before age 18 are four to seven times more likely than adults to develop a marijuana use disorder.26

  12. Correction>>>

Does anyone else see a parallel coming through? how some Yanks believe they have the MORAL  right to carry guns and so the world looks on at all the individual  and mass U.S.A. shootings, and the minority of individuals on this 7 page topic who believe they have the legal/MORAL right to have "unpredictable" killer Pit Bulls? about which many countries are banning.

and also their being proud of their 2 dogs thats can judge a book by its cover re "they hate badly dressed men, rubbish collectors and anyone else who looks “dirty”  which is just so sick.

  14. Mmm TroubleandGrumpy, unfortunately that wisdom to move, still left the newcomers and existing village to be at a "huge risk and that it was just a matter of time before the dog did hurt one of the kids.".  so as Boondoman wisely said above, "blame the owners", and it will be a case of "not if but when", someones throat is fatally mauled again. Oh well, Mai pen rai, dont worry, doesnt matter, owners put dogs before kids, but won't it be only a matter of time before your mate's new safe haven will have a new neighbourhood dog?  Hope not.

Gomangosteen discretely shared how a dangerous dog "went on a holiday".

    "Relocation" also describes it.

We'll surely read about the next tragic death in Asean Now, neighbourhoods will be "deeply shocked" again, and the debate will start all over again.

I’m just as appalled by Soi ma as anyone else, but maybe a modicum of humaneness other than poisoning these stray doggies. Please.

Yet another tradgedy  as Tanlic wrote above (N.B. Her dog!) and goes straight to the heart, like the "stray doggies" that owners wont restrain to to their own property, and even then they can't trust them, and  they go straight to the throat. Calling a spade a spade! Owners wouldn't agree to put them down by any means anyay, and seems like even after they've killed.      It's our lives or theirs.

    P.S. I love (some) dogs.

  16. Just re-read the horrifying header article:-

"Eyewitnesses detailing the dogs' ruthless aggression towards Mr. Thong's throat", and:- "this incident has instilled fear and unease among residents, given the (two) pit bulls' prior history of attacking and fatally injuring other animals in the neighborhood."   Poor guy never thought he would be in danger. One would never wish this on their worst enemy.

That started this forum, could very well finish it, and just about every post agrees this unstable breed has no place in this world.

  17. Interesting...There are some similaraties between that singing dog (picture posted by brianthainess) and the Australian Mountain dingo which  along with the Desert Dingo probably originally migrated from Asia.     I've seen many dogs incredibly resembling the latter in Thailand and both have singing/howling attributes and possibly are as described in the Aussie book:- "Dingoes Dont Bark".

For what its worth, "josephbloggs" picture of a P.B. sleeping in a hammock, that beautiful girls life is in danger just like so many children world wide who have been attacked/killed, either owned by or at random.

The whole story is a no brainer, and as for pathetically taking a dog to farewell its dead owner/victim, sambum and superal summed that up well.  As per the story about deadly Blue Ring Octopus being sold cooked in L.O.S. then where are the health inpectors? seems there is conjecture if Pit Bulls are or not allowed in L.O.S. then where are the animal inspectors and dog catchers?  Again one has to ask:- "How many more lives will it take" and Retayl said "There is no reason for these dogs to exist" and all the arguements and bitterness in these last 6 pages wont solve a thing.

One para can kill a dog?

yup.     Do some research and be surprised as I was. Cats are very sensitive. A regular large black feral cat visitor here didnt return. Way over-dosed it with  500mg.  But note:- dogs bodyweight is relative.  Pit Bulls? do the sums and "kill or get killed."

    Quote> "

What happens if a dog has 1 paracetamol?  (500mg)
A dose as small as 150mg of paracetamol per kg of body weight is considered lethal in dogs. However, any dose larger than 75mg per kg of body weight is considered toxic to dogs and will likely cause serious illness, including damage to your pooch's liver and kidneys.

IBUBRUFEN?  Can be deadly too. Research it.

All these people blaming the breed, wanting them killed. Its not a breed issue, its a poor upbringing and taught animal from the owner. The owner is the only issue here. Teach any strong animal to be aggressive & they can kill.

TOTALLY disagree. A dear old lady near me was killed by her next door neighbours "nice" pitbull. She went there to feed it during Christmas holiday period. Dog and lady knew each other.  Too many unprovoked deaths. Time's up for them and should also be for the owners who violate existing banned pit Bull laws in civilized countries.
