The 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year is only for those done at land border crossings. By air there is no written limit.
I have found this regarding air travel into Thailand:
http://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand/new-visa-rules.php
"Those who arrive at the airport without a prior visa will continue to receive a 30-day stamp up to 6 times per calendar year." -
You live in a foreign country so stop complaining... It's their rules which you have to follow. Don't like the rules...you know where the airport is!!

Unfortunately cannot go beyond step one so a visit to BOI is required!

I was advised last week by our HR assistant that I can now do my 90 day report online. I have a 2 year extension through the BOI. I asked the senior HR manager if this is possible and he said NO as the BOI require us to physically report to them..However the HR assistant insisted today that we can do online.
Please advise if it is possible!
Thanks

Just take the number 52 bus, stops at the entrance on the main road

This will help:
Section 71 Page 11
If, when entering a junction, there are other vehicles, the driver must let such vehicles go through first.
If two vehicles enter a junction from different directions at the same time, the vehicle on the left side has a right of way, except when theres a designation of principal roadway in which case the vehicle on the principal roadway has right of way.

Just a quick one to clarify.
Do immigration issue a 7 day grace period following the cancellation of a NON-B visa or do you have to pay 1,900 baht?

Last year I posted a topic of how I did not agree with HALAL slaughtering. I was called a Bigot amongst other things.
The RSPCA in the UK are now calling (with the backing of the UK government) for this cruel slaughtering method to be banned...About bloody time!!!

Does anyone know if there is a free parking area for motorbikes at Ramkhamhaeng Airport Link? If you use their parking facilities it is 10 baht for every 3 hours.

Great, thanks for the clarification.

Hi Joe, original ED visa issued in Vientiane Sept of this year, recently did 90 day extension at Cheang Whatthana.
-
Please advise what process is required:
Currently on Non ED & need to change to Non B (will go to KL)
Does the language school need to issue a cancellation letter that i take to KL with documents from new employer?
Thanks

The school will go back to the MOE and get another document before your extension is due again so the that you will get the entire 90 days.
I think the document from the MOE is valid for 120 days the date of issue. That gives time to get the extension done before it ends.
You should talk to the school about prorating what you have paid for already into additional classes instead of the original one year.
That's what I also thought Joe, I asked the girl in charge of arranging the visas for the language school and her reply was "it is up to the MOE when they issue the next approval, she cannot make a request for it".....she said many students have this problem which I am finding a bit troublesome....I don't want to state negative things about anyone but am finding the attitude and willingness from this person to find out correct information a challenging one to ignore...I have spoken to the director of the language school and they are in agreement with their staff!!!

A lot is changing with the education visa.... I first started back in August, paid for the full year with The Knowledge language school, lake Rajada building, Asoke. It is a really professional organisation and I enjoy the classes. When I joined the law was attend 4 hours of classes a week (which I do) to be eligible for an education visa. My school informed me yesterday that from January 2015 all students must attend 8 hours of classes a week (which is not a problem) but there will be an additional cost of up to 20,000 baht (originally paid 28,000 baht for the whole year) which for me is an impossibility now as my fiance (Filipina) and I are having a baby in less than 4 weeks and all money is needed for that.
Also regarding immigration and the MOE... I went to immigration last week to get my first 90 day extension, all went well with no problems. However, the immigration official advised us that the MOE (Ministry of Education) only issue the approval for visa every 120 days, meaning at the end of the 90 day extension immigration can only issue the next extension for a 4 week period, then when the MOE issue the next approval for visa extension then i have to go back and apply for the next 90 days (see below)
Visa Approval from MOE - Issued from Nov 2014 to 12th February 2015
current Immigration extension valid until 26th January 2015
need to extend on 26th Jan but immigration can only issue extension until 12th Feb 1,900 baht
12th Feb go back to immigration to apply for next 90 day extension 1,900 baht.
This will occur throughout the whole year, totaling 12,000 baht in visa extensions.
I hope i have explained this is an understandable way and helps individuals contemplating whether an ED visa is the best option for them.

Well the latest on this is the school told my girlfriend that they do not receive funding from the Government for an English teacher, the money comes from the parents of the students. They said they have had to employ another teacher (who is THAI) to now teach English and use the money to pay her, because of this they have no money to pay the 45 day maternity pay... DOL not really interested, nor social security or ministry of education....Any advice on who we can approach now?

Please no TROLLING on this post.....
My Filipina girlfriend who is a teacher at a government school in Samut Prakan has started her maternity leave today. She has a work permit and Non B visa. The school are refusing to pay her Maternity pay, even though the law states In Thailand, an expecting mother is protected under the Labour Protection Act of 1998. Women employees are entitled to the following:
- 90 days of maternity leave
- Full pay: 45 days from the employer and 45 days from the Social Welfare Fund
http://thailand.angloinfo.com/healthcare/pregnancy-birth/maternity-leave/
We have called the Social Security helpline who advised to call the Ministry of Labor, we called the ministry of labor who advised us to call the ministry of education, we called the ministry of education who gave another number saying it is a representative in Samut Prakan, we called the number but they cannot speak English and hung up the call.
Who can we contact as we are being given the run-around.
Thanks

As mentioned it was just an observation, seeing a farang working in a food court is something you don't see on a daily basis...in fact its the first time in the 7 years I have lived here.

Whilst at immigration the other day I went to the food court for lunch, as I walked around the small food stalls I passed one stall with a farang cooking and also serving the Thai immigration staff.
How can he get a visa and work permit for this?

Ah okay that's good to know...
Q: if a person flies into Thailand, stays for a few weeks (is retired, has enough money to support self, doesn't work, doesn't want retirement visa etc), flies out to another country for a couple of weeks then flies back to Thailand to repeat (doesn't do land border crossings or extensions at immigration), how many times, theoretically, could that person do this before immigration at the airport start questioning frequency of visits?
