  1. I recommend that you should call True Visions to fix this for you. I had this type of problem and the technical staff sort this out very easily. Just switch off the whole systems and reboot the black box.

  2. This subject has been hashed to death. No ASTRO is NOT receivable in northern Thailand as the foot print does not cover this area. it basically only goes as far north as Bangkok.

Contact JSAT who is a Thia Visa sponsor.

I am using True Visions currently in Bangkok, but is looking for another alternative. Besides Astro, is there another provider that I can subscribe to. Getting very tired with True Visions service.

Thanks and appreciate if you have any information.

A couple Campbell Soup cans and string that's about it. Oh unless you know somebody in the British or American Embassy. :)

Very nice suggestion. BTW do I have to use only Campbell Soup cans?

  4. Well I figured out a way because I have an external USB sound device as well as my onboard one I was able to use this program: DaanSystems - Radiodelay

However that BBC feed has stopped now, I think there is some kind of copyright thing and they can't broadcast the whole match.

The other feeds I have found such as another BBC live commentary and the SBS commentary from Australia are unfortunately locked to local listeners only, again for some legal reason...

I'll crack this yet! It might be time to find a proxy disguising program to trick these places in to thinking I'm local...

I forgot to add in my earlier posting that if you want to find a proxy program to trick them into believing that you are listening locally, I understand that this can be done. You can log on to to purchase a VPN program and you can then direct your location and region to your choice as has worldwide locations. That is why it is call Good luck. Please post and let us know if you are successful.

You can log on to ESPN radio and listen to live radio broadcast in English for all the matches. However, the delay is about 90 seconds. if you can use the software as you have stated, maybe this will work. I will try the software you have recommended and see if this works.

  7. I have always suspected soccer fans to be moronic. __________Now I know for sure ! ---------------They need to be TOLD when the idiot with the ball manages to score a goal !

Never thought that a simple question could generate such friendly respones!

Since you use the word "Soccer" I presume you hail from the US? (or maybe Australia)

I have to admit, the commentary given on sports in mentioned countries is elecrifying and educational....especially the tractor pulling :D

Now, anybody know if there is a place that shows FOOTBALL with English commentary?

There are all sorts of characters :) in this forum that just want to look for a "fight" over simple question asked in the forum. Nothing much one can do except to take it with a pinch of salt. Just simply ignore such posters. :D

As for your question, maybe you would like to go back to previous discussions in the forum that can provide the answers to your questions since your location is not known. I managed to get the answers to what I want to know on English commentary for the 2010 world cup. There are a lot of suggestions there.

Good luck and hope you get your answers. :D

  8. Since they are broadcasting it live, then why not listen to the radio coverage. I have an issue with the Tennis on HD, that sometimes there is no sound at all.

Great suggestion, but which radio station broadcast live in English language? Please let me know station number. Thanks.

  9. I agree.

40 million Thai fans wanting to listen to Thai commentary and a few thousand expats who want it in English.

The cost for buying English commentary is no doubt millions of Baht extra, so you do the math.

Don't get me wrong guys.I agree sure that this is Thailand and more than 40 millions Thai might be watching as compared to a few thousand expats, but I am not asking the local TV stations to do the dual sound or broadcast in English language. i am asking True Vision for the dual sound option. True Visions is charging subscribtions and also they provide dual sound for most of their channels/programs currently. Why not for this world cup broadcast?

    Cheers :)

  10. World Cup foorball is a big international sports event. I am looking forward to this exciting sports event, but to my disappointment, I understand that True Visions will not be broadcasting this event matches in dual language option. All their present sports channel are having this option of dual language (Thai/English) and I see no good reason for True Vision not providing this service for this world cup.

The only reason I can think of is that they are not willing to spend a bit more to provide this dual language service. I understand that True Visions took the easier and cheaper way out by signing a contract with the local TV pool and obviously the local TV pool broadcast in Thai, which is ok and acceptable, being a Thai local TV stations. True Visions is charging subscribers pretty high rates(Gold subscription more than 1,500 baht per month), as compared to industry standard. Those willing to pay high subscription would not mind, but when come to big internatioal sports event like World Cup, True visions really short changed subscribers. They do not even bother to publish their intention. I only found out yesterday.

Any members in this forum have any ideas and options as to how to get the football matches commentary in English. Mabybe through the internet? If so, how to go about doing this? No video is ok, but sound commentary is important.

Thanks guys and look forward to your assistance.

  11. 200 baht is not cheap for massage. There is another area at Sukhumvit soi 77 (behind Carrefour On Nut). Not to mention the shop name, there are a few shops offering foot massage, thai masage for 100 baht/hour. Tried a few of them and they are good. Service also good and place, very clean.

  12. Anyone knows McDonalds customer service email?

I notice that in Thailand, a lot of big organisation website just do not list their customer service email for customer to provide feedback/complain. One good example is McDonalds. Just can't find their email address to send my feedback/complain. Have also checked their local operator's website, McThai without success.

    Appreciate anybody's help.

    Thanks

  13. My signal gets lost often; rainy, sunny, breezy, cloudy lol. Hard for me to understand.

And why do you put up with it?

Is it just because you expect and accept poor customer service in Thailand?

The last problem that I had with True Visions was only resolved after I started to lose it, frustrated with the total lack of interest.

I started this topic because I want to go and complain armed with as much info as possible. This time I want to stay calm as possible and get somewhere without resorting to raising my voice and getting angry.

I too have various problem with True Visions, be it lost signals or matters related with their service. I would email their customer service and would have got a reply quite fast and got the matter resolved. The problem with lost signals due to thick clouds and sun flares could not be solved by True Visions as they are providing too small a receiving dish for economic reasons. (Wish they could provide a bigger receiving dish). The only solution is to change to a provider that can provide a bigger receiving dish, but this option could cause you more. Can't blame you for getting angry and frustrated with True Visions when the service is bad, but sometime keeping cool could help to get the problem solved faster.

Good Luck with your discussion with True Visions and Cheers! :):D

  14. This is normal with any satellite receiver. I also have True Visions and during a storm it will go out also during high solar flares.

I am wondering if it is normal because last year during the rainy season I hardly ever lost the signal. I'm losing it now when it gets a bit cloudy! What is strange is that it is not consistant.

Yesterday some clouds moved overhead and "Low signal" flashed up on the screen. After about 5 minutes "No signal" and after another 5 minutes, I heard thunder. After "No Signal" for about 45 minutes, It came back while it was absolutely chucking down with rain. It rained heavily for about 3 hours and I had a signal all the time!!??

Because of the small receiving dish used by True Visions, thick clouds will cause interruption to receiving the signal. Once the clouds are cleared or not so thick, you will receive the signal back. Heavy rains is not the main cause of loss of signal. In fact it helps to clear the clouds, which is the main problem. As I mentioned in my previous post, you need a big black dish ( mesh or not mesh dish) to solve this problem, but not totally. This big black receiving dish is bulky and costly and that is the reason why True Visions is not using this. You may want to check out other provider that are using this type of big black dish (Kuband), but I am sure it will cost more than subscribing to True Visions.

    Cheers :)

  15. This is normal with any satellite receiver. I also have True Visions and during a storm it will go out also during high solar flares.

The satellite dish used by True Visions is a small compact dish and can be easily installed, cheap and less space needed. This small dish used has a drawback when there is a storm or starting to rain and signal can be blocked for a short while, but depend on the weather condition, it could be longer. In order to solve this problem, you have to install a huge satellite dish, like the one used in commercial buildings (big black dish). This will reduce the interruption, but not a total solution. True Visions small satellite dish used can get very good picture during normal weather condition without having to use a big satelite dish, which is costly and using too much space.

Solar flares is another problem facing this small dish, but this interruption of signal is less problematic than the bad raining weather.

So looks like there is no other solution as I am sure True Visions will not be using the big satellite dish for us subscribers. Hope that the weather is good when we all will be watching the coming world cup football.
