They did know that riding in the back of a pickup is illegal, didn't they? For a reason. But Thais have a built-in belief that the law only applies to others, not them, and so people die and everyone starts wailing. Same with parents letting underage kids ride motorcycles, and there are tears when he's scrapped off of the road. And it doesn't matter a rat's fart if the law is enforced or not. Common sense, totally absent in Thailand, tells you not to do it because it's dangerous. But they just love to roll the dice.
I've come to believe that it actually is a "cultural " thing. in as much as, if it's not "sanook" then there's a genuine reluctance to comply or stubbornness not to . This seems to apply to safety measures in general. but especially on the roads.

So no indignation or disdain heaped on South Korean employers for hiring these Thai workers?
Or South Koreans availing themselves of more cost-effective "Personal Services"?
Curious.
Correct there should be.
Sometimes, however it is not only native people that employ illegals. I know of several legit Thai owned businesses in UK who employ Thai staff who's visas don't permit employment.

Obviously because the severity of his injuries will affect the charges against the driver.
I know how it works. I question why.
The charges should not reflect the medical report. The charges should reflect the action, in this case endangering life by running the red light at a pedestrian crossing. The sentencing, however. might then reflect the consequences of the action etc.

actually i salute them. how many foreigners do i see protesting the unfair going ons against us here?
they actually have bravado... more power to them
Totally misplaced bravado. however.
I don't see many championing the cause of foreigners knowingly working illegally here. Quite the opposite. in fact.

So the Thai strangers that have helped me before, what "circle" do they belong in?
They're the good-hearted ones ( of which there are many) who dare to think/act outside of the norm.

Lisa from Blackpink flaunted her own Labubu on social media.
Seen some of her clips and initially thought Labubu must be a pseudonym for camel toe .

No mention this time of the same bt300 (a popular figure) being used to cover insurance costs for tourists.

Over-tourism ? or Over-reaction to the self-induced problems created in major holiday places like Phuket ?

Thought I'd heard that the Chang circuit in Burriram met most of the requirements.....but there's always a political angle to it.

The fixed while line indicates the SUV has to stop and yield for 'anything'....
The flashing red light (at that junction) also indicates the SUV has to stop and yield for 'anything'.... (although I can't be certain that the traffic light was flashing at that time).
What is clear is that the SUV entered the junction without being prepared to stop or yield for anything....
It could have been a kid on a scooter, a pedestrian, a cyclist, a motorcyclist, a samlor, someone pushing a cart, another car.... a person on a mobility scooter.... It doesn't matter what it is.... IF there is something already in the junction the vehicle approaching (from the same direction as the SUV) has to stop.
I truly hope you do not drive....
Thankyou, this clearly explains the situation now. I guess the SUV driver was your usual chancer for whom giving way would be a last resort. Assume the sedan was actually turning right which would still be a contributary factor in possibly shielding the slow moving trike from view.

What's with the other car in the pic ? Why is it where it is, as it's certainly impairing the vision of others using the intersection.
OK, for the benefit of the confused........
the grey sedan is either parked on or pulling out from the wrong side of the road and would have obstructed the view of the driver possibly to the extent that he didn't see the trike coming.

What age criteria is typically used to quantify the "workforce" ?
Just trying to reconcile this with the numbers for the proposed Bt 10k handout ..estimated 50 million people eligible over the age of 16.

will allow Thais to earn more by guaranteeing them an annual income of at least 200,000 baht
Sorry I'm lost, who will be guaranteeing this income ?
Why. all those struggling on minimum wage will be purchasing their services, of course, on the back of their bt 100,000 per annum digital wallet bonuses.

question the need for the word transgender in the headline more than anything.
Obviously works well as click-bait. as 3 of the stories headlined in "Latest News " concern Transgender or Ladyboy individuals !
