I went to SVAUTOSHOP(.com) in Bangkok, for installing some LEDs underneath my car.
However, they have new stock in 3 or 4 more weeks, but I want it this week.
Is there any other place in Bangkok someone can recommend me ?
No need to speak English as a picture will say more then words
So basically a shop with blue LED strips, 4pcs, each side 1 underneath my car, and also incl. installing.
Thanks in advance!
PS. Already went to a couple of those car tuning/styling garages but they simply say they only do for toyota/honda/etc , not mitsu pajero sport :S

We use the DashDAQ II for our fuel economy tests, which is a great device but it's a standalone touchscreen and doesn't have a video-out.
Other options would be an OBDII to bluetooth or Wifi adaptor, then and a car-PC to the LCD in the car... Or an app on your iPhone/Blackberry/Android phone..
thanks for your reply, as always helpfull
too bad the DashDaq doesnt have a video outout, the other options you gave me I don't really understand how that would work.
As in... what is a car-PC ? And I dont understand the iPhone app... I mean... anything using GPS is kinda useless for me, not accurate and realtime enough... slow as well..
I hope you can explain me in more details about the options MRO, as I'm a noob with cars and it's technics and capabilities... I can only drive
EDIT: I dont even know what inputs the PJS touchscreen has, and howmany inputs as well :S I know that 1 must be in use already for my reverse driving cam...
EDIT2: Just saw the iPhone apps and such.. but they all don't show the most important thing for me, "Current Trip Costs" (real time) and also I miss the other stuff which comes with the ScanGauge

Hi,
My car is a PJS GT (2011) and comes with the standard touchscreen.
I was wondering if there are any devices on the market for my touchscreen
in order to show reading related to fuel efficiency.
For example this device:
(ScanGauge, or for example a SmartGauge) simply doesn't look nice at all.
I mean, I have a touchscreen anyways, so why not use the screen for the output ?
I hope there is some kind of device which will work for me.
All advices are welcome !
Cheers, Hans

Driving at 90kph instead of 110kph will save you 25% in gas consumption.
also arrive 25% later lol... 5 hours instead of 4...

amazing results... will use bts next time for sukhumvit area... else i'd do just 450/500 km on a full tank
@lickey: cars

nevermind found one already http://www.fueleffic...ncy_adviser.php , but its pretty expensive... i wonder if there are any other simular devices like this for sale in thailand. if anyone knows a good address or website, let me know
EDIT: seems there are no online stores who actually ship to Thailand

I was wondering how fuel efficient all your rides are.
my pjs gets 7km on 1 liter, i know... not much,
but i got stuck once BIGTIME on sukhumvit rd all the way from on nut into the city,
spend like 2 hrs there and too hot to turn engine off, need it for my airco..
on highways i havent tested it yet, so will complete the 2nd poll later
Anyways, all please do the poll, and reply with:
Car: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Year: 2011
2WD/4WD: 4wd
Fuel: Diesel
KM/L (city): 7
KM/L (city): unknown yet
And do the poll
Cheers,
Hans
PS. is it possible to buy an universel device you can plug in your car to see the actual usage, trip usage, etc ? something like this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/35/2006_Honda_Airwave_fuel_efficiency_meter.jpg or http://www.fuelefficiencycenters.com/assets/graphics/fuel_efficiency_adviser_big.jpg , etc

Will upload pic/mov soon if u wanna see what i mean
As promised:
go to 0:57 secs, you seem me driving 60/70 km/h on the speedbumps,
while all other SUV's and Pickups break, and drive as slow as 3km/h on this... I don't really get it... :S
That speedbump-crevasse-speedbump combo at 0:50 has got to qualify for some sort of record - that's the nastiest thing I've seen on the street - well, except for some test tracks that were purposely designed to try and destroy cars.. I bet the local wheel, tire and suspension places are rolling in Baht for all the B segment cars that have lost a tire or shock because of it
I see the normal speedbump at 1:02 gets taken in the correct way though
As for the video, wow, nicely done! You have way too much time on your hands I think, hehehe
Well... I meant the speedbump @ 1:02 ofcourse... I mean, everyone here take it with 3km/h... sometimes SOOOOO slow that i actually need to pass them
Yea, the combo @ 0:50 is really nasty indeed, but cars are not supposed to do drive over that, I was just testing my ride, see what it did..
that one really has to be taken slow
thanks for the compliments.. nah all together incl camming + edit afterwards took me about an hour.
I'm a graphics and multimedia designer... this is just basic stuff

Any good suggested brands of film?
3M is very good and comes with warrenty ofcourse
-
something else... im not used driving these bug suv's like my pjs... (back in europe, a tiny opel corsa hehe)
so a newbie question... why do all big suvs and pickups go like 3km/h over a curb ?
i mean... werent cars build for that? i mean, the tires/wheels/suspensions were made for it, right? is it a thai thing ???
or its simply for example my pajero SPORT car is a really bad car, if it is... then i wonder why i bought one... why not drive 60km/h over it? :s
-
hehe indeed not thailand related.. but was sure nice to watch
-
Sorry everyone, I indeed ment carbonated green ice tea... It's quite common in Europe, so I thought perhaps it's also for sale over here.
Oishi isn't carbonated indeed.. already tried them all from Oishi... but there are tons of other brands.. but I can't just buy them all, I mean there is a lot to choose from.
Hopefully someone knows
-
Hi everyone!
I was wondering which ICE TEA (green only) has soda bubbles in it? Because Im used to have that back in EU, but here (carrefour/tesco) there is SOOOO many choice and I cant read Thai. So basically, which one has the bubbles and if it does excist.. without added sugar
Thanks in advance!
Hans
PS. posting a pic of the can or bottle is also fine ;-)

pajero sport all the way baby !
dont buy brown as i want to stay the only one

looks awesome MRO, thanks for the reply... so basically when I pay for everything 6.5k , I pay almost 5k too much... unless they charge few thousand per hour to fix it for me.. im not good in DIY stuff, so thats why I think I will still go with it... besides.. I dont speak Thai (not good enough).. and the sv autoshop did speak english...
ill head there next week ... unless you wanna earn a few k on a sunday afternoon from me
EDIT: where is your on/off switch ? or did you connect it to the same wires as from the (reading?) top lights above your head? as in... open door ---> all other new strips turn blue as well..?
-
always lights on in thailand... some people horn , wave or flash their lights to me.. i simply wave back or ignore
even during daytimes and a lot of sun, it increases the chance to be seen a LOT... safety first
(and like said by others in this thread, in a lot of EU countries its either recommended and promoted or a law already)
-
my car is covered with grime the day after I clean it.
same here, this wax is THE solution ???? because dusting my car everyday sucks to do...
@MRO: underneath 4 strips (blue) is about 4.5k for everything, inside 1k more, inside 2nd row 1k more. so im gonna do it all for 6.5k at svautoshop
no idea if thats cheap or expensive.. but guess its not a lot of money, so will still do it..
-
I think you need to think about 30k to 40k for a set of 4, excluding tires.
please note that you should not look around for cheap tires.. some can explode at 100km/h.. go for the good opnes, so add around 20k to 30k more for a set of 4
i hope this answer is usefull for you

OMGGGGGGG I WANT THOSE TOO!
MRO, WHERE WHERE WHERE
I want to have them as well, but don't know where to start, perhaps you can help me out pimping my ride one day, as I also need some help with getting spinners ... if possible with LED :$ lol
and if possible all these leds need to be able to turn on/off from inside ... I live in BKK, when are you in BKK ?
I can give you beers back in return ? You are simply the best PJS tweaker on Thaivisa... lemme know I know u dont have PM enabled, so please DO mail me on msn AT hansje DOT nl ,my lukkreung brother
I'm in BKK a few months of the year, but not ATM - in any case, I'm not in the business of fitting accessories heh
If you're up for doing a DIY I can give you contact details for the LED supplier, if you're not into DIY, your best bet would be one of the shops that specilize in aftermarket HID/Xenon and interior lighting upgrades. Plenty of them around BKK, e.g. www.svautoshop.com , www.bpautoshop.com
I pretty much suck in DIY stuff... so I will visit 1 one these shops later today.
U also happen to know where I can buy spinners for my ride ? i know.. bling bling.. im still 50% asian, so
EDIT: like this
-
LED's, God forbid. The Christmas tree look eh.

Speaking of LED's - here's my "see the dung before your enter the car in the home town" welcome lights:

Thanks Damaja, will call a friend of mine, and see if we gonna join, if not, I will come alone next week to check it out :-)
EDIT: is there like a FB group page for the ones playing, if not, perhaps it's an idea to make a closed (by invite only) group page, with some pics, vids, and ofcourse the twice per week info, as well as main info maybe even make it public, so others can find it as well and join just and idea.... hehe
