  1. hey there,

shoer question: how do you think about sport in general directly reflecting to a better health and/or longer live ?

as we are in thailand here, and poples are quite professional in doing pretty much nothing.

does this not proof a theory that physical activities may make human stronger, but not really extend live ?

    just personal couriousity ;)

  2. The subway and the skytrain are superb.

That is very much depending on the point of view!

Sure if you live downtown it makes sense, but the majority of peoples dont!

The administration does not provide parking to interchange at all.

The only Park & Ride building is at ladphrao-ratchada junction.

Getting there at rush hour takes forever.

And it does not have a point at all, if you stuck in traffic for an hour to get to park&ride

Take a train for 30 min then there is no more difference in adding another 30 min to drive the whole way.

And it probably also does cost the same.

  3. Reinstaling itunes des not do the trick for sure, its not windows :)

One question: how old is your iTunes database ?

If you had skipped serval osx versions (or subversions) it can happen that the compression process not smoothly wors, results in this behaviur.

Easy way to find this out is to simply stop iTUnes, then go to tour homefolder -> Music

And rename the folder iTUnes to something else

Then start iTunes again, a error will pop up that the database is not beeing found and it offers you to create a new one or search for it.

    Click "create", quit ituenss afterwards

    And start it again.

Itunes should then show up but all the content is gone.

If it spinning again, its a software or hardwareissue,

If the spining is gone, its the database.

After the test is passed, simply stop itunes again.

Go to your homefolder - music

Delete the new iTunes folder and rename the old one back to iTunes.

Then all your data will be back where it was before.

  4. What's Tim's email? Or should I try Steve?

steve or Tim ends anyway up in the PR Mailbox :P

your machine seems to have something more serious going on .. or just a shitty os installation (i guess the second)

bette make a backup and get the OS straight installed.

i made that as the first beta came out of OSX (in the year 2001 or so) and still running on this very cores ..

unlike in windows (wiping drives and sh%$t) is not required ever, but you need to have the core installation running properly first.

  5. no uptodate codes for my 2 machines either. How they can botch such as a simple process and over complicate it:

They not rolling out all updates at the same time, which makes alot of sense since this would make a shitload of traffic at the same time.

Same is always with ios updates. My iphone 4 always get it first, and the ipad fetch it a few hours - 1 day later.

  6. the UI improvements are great .. like status indicators in finder and things like this ..

the notification center (like on iOS 5) made its way to OSX .. and serval other things ..

mail app is MUCH faster .. overall its getting more and more merged with iOS in a very smooth way ..

underway there are technology things are being implemented as well ...

but the old school apple-way ...

so you will find a lot of blogs complaining about things .. but mostly this is because of lazy programmers not following the standards.

its now almost 6 months since mountain lion was available to developers ... (enough time to get things sorted)

one major thing is the sandboxing ... if a app does NOT support it ... it simply won't work.

this was in Lion already the case but lion did not take it that seriously ..

now (2 years later) its time to narrow this hole. and she coders might wake up tomorrow instead of 2 years ago ;)

overall .. i would recumbent it for everyone ... the improvements are standing way out the downsides.

waiting won't change so much ... there has been already about 15 updates to Mountain lion while the beta phase ... where all bugs i have noted where sorted out.

what greatly annoys me is that they have quietly removed the apache controls ...

but the web services are still being shipped .... (just have to enable it the hard way) ;)

  7. If you use buildin webservice, svn or little snitch.

Does not really work on 10.8 (at least not out of the box)

10.8 enforces the "sandboxing" crappy written apps will have serious issues in running.

Maybe piss off some peoples, but in the end it will make things better and more secure

  8. i use iOS 6 since a few months already ...

there are tons of REALLY Great things on it .. (i won't go back to iOS 5 ever!!)

but also Con's .. like the Gppgle integration is missing, apple does now uses its own map-links ...

the maps are delivered by TomTom ... which are extremely bad in Thailand.

SiRi comes in a A lot of in and out languages .. (but not in thai)

and well now it won't find anything since tom-tom pretty much sucks in thailand.

    :(

  9. i have 10.8 installed since a few months already on my Notebook ...

but it has some changes which i personally do not like (like missing web server options) (not somethings does kill you .. (can still start/stop via command line)

and some lib's are not finding the way home ... because with 10.8 the sandboxing (which was started with Lion) will be now enforced.

  10. a W123 ?

more a Museums mission then ;)

hope its a E300 to have at least "some" fun after the change ;)

anyway, to answer the question,at this car most parts are already prepared for the change (they not change that much on different gearbox sets)

so you will find the mounts and the holes prepared already, all you need to do is drilling them.

and maybe get a half cut of a W123 instead of just the gearbox .. this will safe you a fortune on the micro parts missing in a Automatic.

but it will be worth the work anyway.

i personally prefer manual gearing as well. (the only thing better is electrohydraulic clutch ... but the W123 is about 10 years before this was even invented) ;)

  11. Cons: Macs are <deleted>' expensive compared to PC's.

    Not really.

The best non-apple Oem manufacturer is clearly HP, a standard pc costs about 12000 baht.

A mac mini goes for 19000 but is only 10% the physical size, faster, use hdmi, much higher quality hardware is used, and they work (even with windows)

The100 Bucks difference is burned very quickly on service and chopping gray hairs of horror fighting Windows, upgrades for the next update, antivirussoftware, and the operating system purchase (macs always come with the lastest OS in a Package)

Just legally buying Windows would make the Mac cheaper already.

  12. The Price-tag is not really a con!

Apple is simply the best OEM manufacturer.

    Good stuff costs money!

Everything comes from one place, well tested and controlled, that efforts are e xpensive and reflecting to the slightly higher price.

In the end they actually much cheaper, because you spend alot more time with "do things" and zero time "fighting the Operating System".

The real Con's are that mac's and the operatingsystems are strict in standards and the way they work.

Resulting in some things may simply not work due the counterpart dies not exactly meet the requirements.

As example some websites badly programmed may not show the winsows experience.

But because of this the machine stays healty and sinply works.

I have serval macs (including the whole iMac Family) the oldest one is 12Years old and still works like on day 1.

So the cost is not really a factor.

Also i dont know anyone who seriously use a Computer switched back to Windows :)

But i know alot of peoples moving from problems to success using a Macintosh as Tool for it.

  13. agree, i personally hate pattaya deeply.

but for someone lets say "not so mobile" its a great place to be ..

the infrastructure compared to the size is only there like it is.

pricing is more "farangfriendly" as well ..

well for me i never would live there ever ...

but its okay to go from time to time .. talk stupid things ... make jokes require more then a IQ of 50 to be understood ..

    things like that ...

or have some faring food costing half of the prices they do cost in bkk ;)

but as for myself .. i always drive back home to bkk at he same day.
