if you happy with the speed of the AIS ... just get a second Sim Card to put in the iPad.

make sure you have unlimited Internet ..

its a different world, if you expect things to crash like on Microsoft or behave like on your computer, then a iPad is simply the wrong thing and it wont make you happy.

also a iPad is a touch based device, so the general experience with office related applications is very different.

you WILL face 2 "issues"

1. its a Apple, and apple devices do think different indeed.

2. its made to work without keyboard (even if you get a keyboard and connect it (wich is not a big deal) it will be different and maybe count negative to your Microsoft, keyboard , mouse experience)

Yes, iTunes has tons of free offers, however it requires a free shop-account (Apple ID)

you can install from other sources, but i would not advice this, specially if you new to the apple-world,

because this is one of the reasons why Apples never crash ! all software is verified and delivered via the same technology.

Pay litte but get good results.

Much better as the hazzle with peoples have no idea what they sell an how things do actually work.

They are also the only Thai cc I have that has been giving out automatic increases in credit line... for the others that are through Thai banks, they advise that you have to bring in updated payslips and apply for any increase.

I do not really need the increases, so not worth the time to go through the process with any of the other cards, but it is nice to have "just in case".

Kasikorn doubled my credit line twice already with no inquiry from my side,

but at Kasikorn its the same, you need to use the card to avoid the fees (but its just 50k or so on a Titanium card)

kasikorn also grants short therm credit (more creditline) in a temporary basis with just one phonecall ... thats quite a good thing in emergencies. (of course that works only if the bills are paid and the card is not maxed out)

also have a AEON Card .. (not really a bank) .. they play very nicely if you travel arround in matters of fees. but they wont ever get you more credit and i think there is only 1 smart and 1 english speaking staff, lucky its the same person .. so everything is allright there as well .. .

to cover 8 hours you need something Huge! the cost of solar and the batteries to store the juce for such a long time is probably more expensive and much less reliable than buying a disel to power your whole house.

if its "just" a notebook .. then you can probably run this time on batteries so nothing to worry about that. (assuming its a decent notebook)

so you just need somethings to power the last mile equipment (router, switches) ...

this may somethings between 20 and 50 watts, so you would be good with a Gel-powered UPS around 0,5-1KW ...

why this high ? the batteries not last forever and the storage gets limited over time, to keep the pleasure, better get something "bigger"

i would not bother with Solar, quality panels from toshiba or sharp costing a fortune,

where the cheap china-junk you can pick up in 90% of the thai stores is just good to charge AA Batteries.

also you need the electronics and Batteries like in a UPS anyway, too high cost with very little benefit.

the customs charge for the panels alone can get you already a nice APC Backup

you can only buy stuff there if you can provide a ticket. (the items purchased (most of them) will be avaiable for pickup at the airport on the day of your departure)

this Duty Free Temples seem to work out quite well. there is also one in Pattaya opened up a few months back (also from King power).
