  1. im usind adium for messaging (so far the best client ive ever seen for almost all protocols)

however .. its dosnt support voice messaging yet ..

for this pourpose i use another client is called: Gizmo

its supports voice messaging for yahoo, msn,

    http://gizmoproject.com/

specialy for msn .. there is a mac client should support voice (amsn)

i tryed amsn before almost 1 year and it really sucks (more bad as the already terrible mac version of the msn messenger ;-) )

but seems like they improoved alot .. http://www.amsn-project.net/

  2. there are quite good thai coders out there ....

well i for myself .. runn alot of websites .. where i outsource the artwork to thais .. and implement the output then in templates (like cms systems or something else)

work is mostly very reliable .. and a good price ..

most farangs i leaned to know are not really good .. just more expensive ...

where most thais are not that well in technical issues .. so i combined myself withthe outsourced atwork part ... and this worked fine so far.

  3. a friend of mine got it in samut prakan (just before a few months) ...

was 2 weeks out of business ... after that everything back to normal ..

threatment cost in a local clinic was below 2000 baht.

doublechteck in e expensive hospital resulted to the same threatment (just about 10 times the price)

  4. Can a .th domain actually be hosted by a non-thai host?

(yes, I know technically - but how about legally?)

yes, there is no rgulation regarding localizing.

it may make sense if the website or other services based on the domain have target visitors or targetaccess outside of thailand.

like a websop with targetcustomers in india .. should be for the best performace also hosted somewhere there .. to give the customers (the ones drive the money in) give the best performace ..

however .. thai domains may have most access from thailand .. so thai hosting would be the most effective

    @Insight

i read some post about nameservers ...

you canot just use ANY server to declare on the registration process !

the machines you are using MUST be authoritative for the zone !

as the records used in the thnic registration will be used on root-servers as well !

  5. hum .. the "hang problem on reboot" i had as well on my 2 old macs . while updating to 10.4

    also on my G4 ...

also the 100% cpu is quite normal as spotlight is doing clean indexes ... jut leave it like this ..

iam quite sure the heavy disc access and cpu load is going down after this initial tasks are finished ..

iam very happy so far with tiger (it was a huge benefit after all to panther)

hope to get some good news about leopard later too... (still not really decide to buy it .. 5k baht is not so much expensive but well its alot of money ;-)

  6. the domainname itself has Nothing to do with Ipadresses ...

to register you just need to provide 2 nameservers .. and there (if they are in your hand) you can do whatever you like to do. (change of hosts and ip entrys)

its pretty much straight forward .. how thnic handles this issue ..

as i know they offer the NS-Hosting as well BUT this may cost money ..

usaly the hosting for your website (no matter where on this world) can offer this services too (free in your hosting packege)

if you change the hosting package you can in secounds update the database from th-nic regarding your nameserver host/ip's by yourself ..

    clean and quick.

    Mario

  7. call khum seem (sam) .. he is a goof friend .. have a limusiene and a commuter.

0895063642 .. he can speak english quite good .. and have no problem with hang arround

and bring you anywhere you like ... very trusting service ...

(tell him Mario sends you (for better price)) ;-)

  8. well thats 2 systems .. needed to be combined.

i would just use a normal mailinglist software (mailman as example)

and the links in your messages just resolving all to a webhost of yours where redirects maded after track the links.

to track "opened messages" just include a 1x1pixel image in the email where your webhost is tracking the hits ...

small hosting ... with a mysqldb and max 1 hour coding ... its reliable and all done ;-)

  9. i just was updated Yesterday and today morning .. about some serious changes in Cambodia.

its seems like the Thai consulate/embassy does not give any type of tourist visa unless the applicant Prooves

a ticket out of thailand AND a confirmed Hotel Booking for the requested time.

the visa time will cut down to the time the Air Ticket is booked to (departure)

or either the time of the confirmed stay.

seems quite alot of peoples are stuck there now ...

anyone know some updates regarding this ?

  10. as ignis say .. depends heavy what kind of mobile user you are ...

so far for me was the best choice DTAC .. as the customer service (english), troubleshooting, real-billing is great ..

truemove totaly cheap but not reliable ... double billing all the time (there is just not one month where i do not have a complaint about the invoices they typing ...) since 2 months i do not get a invoice at all ... (just a sms state the duedate and the amount to pay)

so if you a cheap hunter .. truemove is the best .. but if you are working with your mobile i would recoment dtac ..

  11. im quite sure zou can find somethings out there ...

i did live about 1 Year in pakkred (about 50 meter from the major cineplex) .. very relaxing place..

also down near the peer ots nice to stay .. much more "local life" and transportation is great (well not so much AC-Busses . but who need that with a 5k limit for condo) ;-)

in Muang thng thani you can get a place in Public Condominuim (Near Impact arena) for almost half of your limit ...

    by quite good infrastructure ..

  12. 200b is normal for 2 peoples working at weekdays .. more less normal cooking ...

here is a invoice from my old place, townhouse, 2 peoples, both working .. no or rare cooking at home

    Thai_Wasser_Rechnung.jpg

where this is direct invoice .. not via landlord proxy adding some extra tip's as usual in condos or appartments ;-)

  13. also there are ZERO support or any guarantee from Hutch !

you have to buy it to give it a try!

this mean 12900 for the hardware plus 12000 baht for 1 year contract (999/month).

all the hutch customer services are terrible in service, and does not give even a hint if coverage there or not.

also the coverage checker at the phone is just marketing .. no clear info at all ...

if its not working you have GPRS (maybe edge) .. but its not a reason at all to void the contract ...

so your trial cost is almost 25000 baht ..

if you lucky .. the investment is fine ...

    if not -> your problem

  14. hey boys ...

does anyone know if there is a sales partner in Bangkok or Thailand sell Frogpads ?

    frogpad.com have just a singapure partner ...

well maybe someone KNOW a shop have it accidently ;-)

    Cheers

  15. adding the account is not a problem (since almost 1 year)

but the ATM / debit card wont be accepted by paypal .. (thaibanks are refusing in general debitcards to use in the internet)

you can aply for another debitcard like payoneer.com .... use this to "verify" the paypal account .. and everything is allright ...

i did this myself .. recently and does not get any problems with this ..

just one thing: paypalaccount name MUST be under the same name as the CC you do add ..

if not the action will not lead to verify you ..

  16. The obvious and cheaper route would be to transfer funds electronically but if you must use a personal check it will take time and there will a large commission charge as already pointed out to you.

true .. also the exchange rates will be handled locally and not based on worldbank or central banks ..

if check then better use a cash check acepted by the bangkok bank ... issued in thai baht (but well this will be abit difficult but possible)

    on the bottomline ...

a electronic transfer OR international Standard Transfer is the easyest way .. and as well cheapest if the amount is quite high.

as the exchange rate is then set by the bank in your country and not by some random values in between.

timing: a check takes already 10 days for clearance ... PLUS accounts times ...

a international transfer is faster as well .. and you not take the risc loosing the check ;-)
