  1. Hi,

I recently read a lot posts of foreigners who got denied entry to Thailand with valid visas like ED. I am now in Thailand for almost 4 years with years with Non-O visa and yearly extensions because I am the father of a Thai child. I've planned to make a holiday in Singapore with my child in the next few weeks. I also obtained a multiple-entry permit. Am I going to have problems to re-enter Thailand or even leave Thailand? Makes me definitely worried reading the latest posts about people getting denied entry and even denied leaving.

  2. Hello,

my mother from Germany is going to visit me in Thailand next month for 28 days. She will live with me at my condo for the period of time. I heard some bad stories about entry refusals because of not showing cash, hotel bookings, etc.

Should I prepare for anything? She has has not much money and will unlikely travel with much cash. And even if she has enough cash, she has no hotel bookings. How should we prepare?

Is it correct that I have to report her stay at Immigration?

  3. I am learning thai right now and may can help. The stamps says that "No money" ไมมีเงิน.... Immigration probably asked for enough financial proof. They only ask this when you have already multiple Thai visits in your passport. The big question is when was your uncle last time in Thailand and how long was he in Thailand?

He got refused because he did not show financial proof that he was able to qualify as tourist. Its indeed very strange if they really had hotel bookings and a return ticket with them.

Please keep in mind that I am still learning Thai and I maybe misunderstand it.

  4. Hi,

I am going to need a bank statement to show at I have at least 400k for 3 months balance on my svaings account. Can I get this document only at the bank where I opened my account or at any other branch?

And can someone maybe give me a tip for what I have to ask if the bank employee has no idea what I want.

  5. Unfortunately this is a fate which awaits many of the first expat generations in Thailand. Especially if you don't have any Thai relatives. The government made it officialy clear that they don't want any of these in their country. There is also no law which could make any exceptions like Extraordinary circumstances if you live here already for decades and have no other home. Just can only hope that the immigration lets you walk on if they find out. But if you get into any legal troubles you would always end in IDC or deport back to that far planet where your passport is from.

As stated his mum will not help .. he did have thai passport and birth certificate as well.. but are long gone . I want to do everything as a british citizen ...not Thai if possible. Visa company said they can get his UK birth certificate stamped if I want to . but is it realy necessary ?

ELVIAJERO.. Are you saying once I"ve got my 1 year retirement visa ... I can do something else (Extension of stay)  for him that piggybacks mine very easily ? Excuse the ignorance ... what exactly is it and how do I go about it .

Why wouldn't you do this? It would make your own visa situation much easier if you have all documents and can proof that you have a Thai Child then apply for a Non-O visa and do 1 year extensions.  Only 400k or 40k monthly income instead of retirement 65k monthly or 800k on Thai Bank. And also easier options to get a WP.  And it also would give you the opportunity to get residence permit in the future.

  7. I have another question but about the same topic. I used to get 1 year extension based on being the legal father of a Thai child but it always seems that it was important that I live together with my child and his mother in a relationship. What happens in case I quit with the mother and  the child but the child. The child will spend around 50/50 with mother and father? Can you still get an yearly extension for this?

I Have Done So ... I Am Married To Thai Wife Having 3 Sons, Holder Of Yellow Residence Book, Staying In Thailand Mire Than 7 Years  ... I Was Having NON - O Visa And It Was Fine ...

But Then I Got A English Teaching Job And That Job Requirement Was To Have Work Permit ... So The School Worker Took Me Out And I Quit Thailand by Finishing My NON - O Visa

Entered In Malaysia And Got NON - B ( Bussiness Visa ) And Re-entered Thailand On Fresh Visa ... It Took One Month In Malaysia  For All Verification Of Documents And Then I Got

Thai Visa From Malaysia ... On NON - B Visa I Got My Teaching Work Permit And Working ... May Salary Is 15000 Bhat So I Dont Have To Pay Any Tax ... But The Only Problem Is That

That You Are Dependent On Employer ... Even You Have One Year Visa Once They Fire You From Job Or Cancel Your Work Permit Your Rest Of Time Expires And You Get Exactly 7 Days

To Find A New Job Employer Or Leave The Country ... Even If You Have 3 Years Contract Once Your Job Is Gone Your Visa Gone What Ever Period You Have ... That's The Worst Part Of It ...

For NON - O Visa You Have To leave The Country And Get The Fresh Visa From Your Origion Of Country ...  Working Permit Under Wife ( Non-O ) Visa Is Only Allowed Upon Making A Company

On Her Name holding 49% Share Of Yours Own Being Designated And Positioned As A Manager  In That Firm With Atleast 2 Million Capital To Be Declared At Least ... That is The Safest And

Secure Visa But You Can Not Work Else Where On That Visa ... I Mean JOB ...

So My Advise Is If You Are Confident That The Job Is Secure Then Go For It Otherwise You Knows Better ...

    Best Regards

    AhSaN ...

You have 3 children and earn 15k per month? how do you manage this?

  9. What choice do you have. Some immigration officer demanding 5k baht to give your extension or leaving the country? Not everyone has the ability to fight with an immigration officer. Ever seen latest news about defamation laws? If you piss of the wrong official then you can even end up in jail or blacklisted.

If you want a good example what could happen if you fight against the wrong officials read this here: https://www.change.org/p/thai-minister-of-justice-please-give-jessie-daire-back-their-home

  10. What is your actual question? Visa options in Thailand to avoid paying taxes in your home country? If you are from UK or US then you will always be taxed there expect if you pay income tax in another country of residency. And Thailand is absolutely not an option in this case. You cant get a work permit just for living in Thailand and working abroad. Not to mention that Thailand is not tax heaven even if you could somehow manage to pay income tax in Thailand with working offshore.
