I am asking on behalf of a friend. He would like to see Angkor Wat in Cambodia. I heard of guided tours to Angkor Wat from Bangkok. Can anyone suggest something? He will only travel alone so some kind a tour in a group is a must.

Unfortunately this is a fate which awaits many of the first expat generations in Thailand. Especially if you don't have any Thai relatives. The government made it officialy clear that they don't want any of these in their country. There is also no law which could make any exceptions like Extraordinary circumstances if you live here already for decades and have no other home. Just can only hope that the immigration lets you walk on if they find out. But if you get into any legal troubles you would always end in IDC or deport back to that far planet where your passport is from.

I don't think that there is much what you can do. There are reports of a new rule that only 2 visa on arrivals are allowed per year. You could apply for a multiple entry 6 months tourist visa.

This is so damn ridiculous. The only guys who they are known of are those kiddies who download a software on their computer which just always repeatedly open the government websites to overload the servers. And probably using their own internet connection for this. Good luck to send these kids to jail. Will make the situation worse.

Yes until using a VPN or any kind of hiding your internet traffic is not allowed anymore and doing so is a an offence like in China or some Arabian countries.

A single gateway with ability to block and filter all traffic will cost billions and millions of monthly maintenance. Where does this money come from? It will also mean the end for Facebook and most other western services like Google (Gmail, Maps) etc. 

So in the end a total disaster which would cause a devastating impact to the Thai economy.

My Guess = Won't happen!!

Why wouldn't you do this? It would make your own visa situation much easier if you have all documents and can proof that you have a Thai Child then apply for a Non-O visa and do 1 year extensions.  Only 400k or 40k monthly income instead of retirement 65k monthly or 800k on Thai Bank. And also easier options to get a WP.  And it also would give you the opportunity to get residence permit in the future.

But could someone explain to me what is the purpose of staying in Thailand for the whole year or even for many years if you don't have any family or business in the country? I mean if someone really likes the country and want to stay here it would be so damn easy to get an ED Visa and actually study those few hours every week, or am I wrong?

Wow. Wondering what Thailand would do if I found to work illegally here? I have read dozens of stories here were foreigners got deported and blacklisted while while having kids in Thailand.
