Reassuring and slightly confusing at the same time. Thanks.
Any thoughts on the Letter of invitation request? I assumed it was being asked for incorrectly for a Tourist Visa (Single Entry) but the system doesn't allow you to proceed to submit application until you have uploaded a PDF document for that Section. I basicually uploaded a doc with the Question cut & paste and the reply N/A. I'll see what they come back with.
I've done 2 COE's this year, London and Rome, found both embassies really helpful. If I remember correctly I think I just reposted my marriage certificate. They did not accept PDF files only jpeg.

Then there is a low liklihood if we abide by the rules of any of us dying from the virus .
That has been the case for the last 1½yrs. Looking beyond the hysteria and scaremongering it's still a very difficult thing to catch and a small mortality rate.

No, unless you want to be covered for flight cancellation, lost luggage, etc, though it's not mandatory. Also bear in mind you will have to have a PCR test and if that returns positive you could be stuck there longer than planned.

Just been looking at this as I've received an email from KLM. I thought if you do test & release you didn't have to do the 2 & 8 tests but not so. What's the point in doing 3 tests in 8 days plus the one before you fly. Will have to stick with 2 & 8 test I suppose.

I used AXA, don't know if it's any good as I didn't use it but prompt replies and no problems at immigration.

Sorry I can't give you specifics as it was a long time ago, are you in Thailand or UK. My son was born 2003 in Thailand, his mam and me were married 2008, as soon as he was born I applied for naturalization. I went to the Citizens Advice Bureau, they printed out the form and helped me fill them in, quick and easy process, got his certificate back in a couple of weeks. Maybe they've made it more difficult but was a lot easier than getting his first passport.

Mine was 3800bt, seems about average. Medconsult looks good but did not want a trip into Bangkok.

Thanks for the tip about printing out a receipt. I was concerned that doing a dummy run might lockout my main email address if there wasn't a cancel or forget everything button at the end that's all.
No you can start filling in the form anytime. You get an email confirmation and can click the link to return to it when you need to complete it.

if you have one it is useful for that. But you only need a yellow house book to get the ID number. But not sure what will happen when somebody appears for the vaccination.
You can also get appointments by contacting a village health volunteer or a hospital.
Does it help having a yellow house book when doing your visa extensions.

"If we test positive I will get a flight credit and have to use it another date but I won't lose my money"
Hope you have insurance in case you test positive. I took Covid insurance until my visa expired and my flight was booked. Afterwards I thought about it and should have gotten an extra month in case I was positive.

Is this still about getting a driver's license because all the answers sound so complicated. I did mine 6 weeks ago. Renewed my 5yr but cause I'd only come in on a tourist visa could only get 2yrs. Local city hall (Saiyok) for paperwork, 45 minute drive to kanchanaburi immigration, 15 minutes for paperwork, 5 minutes in hospital for check up, the 3 driving tests, 45 minute video, 20 minutes wait for photo and license. All done in a morning, really efficient.

You didn't say that in the first place.
You also need to qualify financially for a residency visa. Not all as simple as you first made out.

Think I did as that's the first comment I've made.

Did you show a fit to fly certificate or just the pcr test result at the airport?
They were both in with the price. I didn't ask for a fit to fly but it was their anyway.

Where did you get tested and how much did it cost?
Also, did you have any form of medical insurance?
I'll make a few calls to certain airlines this week but it does seem that you have to have a pcr test to board a flight in Bangkok, even if it's flight to a country that doesn't require a pcr test.
If that is the case, then getting a solid health insurance plan that covers the countries I plan on visiting (and thailand of course) and then getting the pcr test sounds like the best option.
I live in kanchanaburi so got my test at Synphaet hospital, 3800bt.
I didn't have health insurance which was a mistake by me. Luckily it was negative or I could have had a large bill to pay out of my own pocket.

Masks? Drinks? Space? Change of Aircraft?
Masks are compulsory. Food/drink as normal. Everyone had as much space as they wanted. Worst bit was at Charles de Gaulle airport, landed at 04.00am but terminal didn't open until 05.30 so you had 100 people standing around in a corridor waiting for it to open.

Don't you need one for France? Was the flight busy?
Not for transit, only looked at my passport. Probably 60-70 people on board and most of them were on when we boarded, don't know where the flight originated.

What airline will let you board at a Thai airport without a negative Covid-19 test result for a flight to your intended destination? This is the first question to which you need to find an answer.
I flew out last Sunday, AirFrance Paris to Italy. You don't need a PCR test to enter Italy from Thailand but just for my piece of mind I got one. At check-in I showed her my documents and she said come with me, took me over to talk with another man. He was trying to explain that he didn't need a PCR test and I agreed with him but they said your not getting on this plane without one. Never say him on the subsequent flights.

I don't agree with it but these articles always make out Thailand is different to any other country in this respect. As a UK citizen in Italy I have to have regular PCR test with work, Italians free, me €90 each time.

BKK to UK - what you need to do and how much it costs?
