AUD 19.65 doesn't appear to be affecting the THB as much as the Aussie.
Yeah, all the doom and gloom over the last year still has made a difference to the exchange rate, GBP 39.57 ????.

"Foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may only do so for 30 days at one time with a maximum of 3 times in a 6-month period by flight and 2 times a year for overland crossing.
Not seen this before, until recently I was on a 3 week on/off rotation so normally had 8 or 9 visa exempts a year, never had a problem.

You can get a Non O visa before you travel if you can meet the financial requirements. That gives you 90 days on entry and you can apply for the 1 year extension in the last 30 days of the 90.
Do you have to wait until the last 30 days or could you apply as soon as you enter the country.

I thought you needed a visa to cross

If apply for a multiple re-entry permit (3800 baht) you can leave and enter as many times as you want to.
There is no requirement to be in the country any amount of time other than being here to apply for a new extension prior to your existing one ending.
Thanks. I am going to look for work on a 3 week rotation, last time I did it I just did visa exempts but I think the marriage visa is the way forward. Come over for 3 months to sort it out then start looking. Do you get the re-entry permit at the same time as the extension.

If I get an extension based on marriage and a re-entry permit (if that's the right wording for it) can I come and go as many times as I like or is there a limit and a set number of days you have to be in Thailand.

When you do a passport renewal you have to photocopy every page, guess it's to prove you have no past visa refusals.
-
Yes but they don't tell you that and yes you can use a bank statement, I've just done my son's and was told I could have used my bank statement as his proof of address.
-
Not sure about the babies new passport, have just renewed my son's (15yrs old), I used the house book as it's the only thing with his name and address on but it was rejected, had to get a letter from his school saying he was a student there.
-
Make sure the photos are countersigned and the house book is only good if issued in the last year.

Yes not sure how they can tell were he is. I went to Durham passport office and explained the situation to them, they said no problem just apply here. When I filled in the form and it asks for home address I called the help line to see if they wanted a Thai or English address and they said he had to apply from Thailand. Wasn't sure what to do so just decided to apply in Thailand. The only thing that says were he lives is the house book but they don't ask for that.

I am going to apply for a uk visit visa for my wife, would it be a problem that my wage slips are in Norwegian or will they need to be translated.
Can someone recommend a translation service for our Thai documents, thanks.

Thanks.
I work 3 weeks on/off so that looks like the way to go, never had a problem but reading more stories about people being stopped.
-
If i get a re-entry permit is there a limit to the number of times i can leave in a year or a maximum number of days i can leave for. Thanks.

jumbojones55, if you do come across some kind of template for an employers letter, i'd be grateful if you would pass it on, i will be applying and would like to enclose an employers letter. Thanks.

Surprised they let you leave on the British Passport as there won't have been a departure card or do you not need one for a 1yr old.

I know of cases where the applicant has, like your wife, requested a specific start date and this has been missed by the ECO. In those cases the start date has been changed when the mistake pointed out to them.
I applied and put the date of travel down, the visa was dated the day of the application, when we told them they said nothing we can do you'll have to re-apply. Total waste of time and money, bunch of #####.

Have shared it with friends around Kanchanaburi hope it helps. Good luck getting him back safe and sound.

To the question where do I go next I wouldn't bother with Qatar, just done my flight with them and how they rated 5 star I've no idea. Looks like it's going to be Emirates again next time.
-
10lb, i can't find anything under 20lb normally just bring it from England.
jack2964 thanks for that link looks good.

You've got no chance of getting your money.
I think Emirates has gone downhill, next time I'm booked with Qatar.

My wife says 5,000 (Kanchanaburi) but I guess they can charge what they want.
