I wouldn't bother with an agent, my wife recently got a visa and we thought the agent route would be the best option but after getting nowhere for 10 days we dumped them and did it ourselves, very easy and painless. I live in the UK and she lives in Thailand so with you already retired there that has to be a bonus. Best of luck ????

How did you get the photo to the 3mb size ,mine came up as 8mb
Simple Scanner app on my phone, scan passport photo and save as jpeg. Tried to do it on my scanner and laptop but couldn't get it small enough without losing quality.

This is not the streamlined process it's supposed to be.
The criteria for the visas are more complicated but the system works OK, applied Friday, confirmation Monday. Don't like how you just get a piece of paper now instead of an actual visa in your passport.

The first and third question I just uploaded my passport page again, not sure about the second as I used my wife's ID. Can't see why you couldn't use a photo off your phone, I had a passport photo which I scanned with my phone and uploaded. Applied Friday and got confirmation yesterday. Didn't realise you just get a piece of paper now instead of a visa in your passport ????.

So I went early morning to DLT Bangchak today; and would you believe, the lady there says since my residence falls under area 1 (which is at the DLT at Rama 2), they would do it with just the yellow Taabien Baan; but at Bangchak they would definitely need a residence certificate. So I hightailed it to the embassy finally and they'll give me a certificate of residence in 2 days and then I go back to the Rama 2 DLT place.
I recently renewed my driving licence in India, completely online, uploaded my medical etc, paid the fee by card, delivered to my home by courier in 3 days.
I can't believe it's been so complicated for you. I have a 2yr car licence which is up for renewal, have things changed so much in the last 2yrs. Normally it's a trip to Saiyok city hall with the wife's house book to get a letter then to kanchanaburi to renew, in and out usually within 1½hrs with my new licence in my hand.

She keeps going on about the "fine print", the 31 day cover isn't in the fine print it's a standard duration which he will have clicked on, probably thought he was getting it cheaper. Hope the lad recovers but can't believe people have paid up £20,000 for him.

Any recommendations for health insurance for a Thai travelling to the UK for 6 weeks holiday. Thanks.

I would go at the normal time, 15 minutes before the appointment. We paid for the scanning assistance and my wife said they were really helpful, no problems.

Notification received this morning from VfS.
Exactly 3 calendar weeks.........less than 15 working days.
Do they tell you if you've been successful or do you have to wait until you pick your passport up.

To answer my own question.............................10 working days.
A friend submitted her application on 14th November and the passport was posted out from Bangkok today.
As my missus did hers on the 15th I am hopeful of a decision this week.
My wife went to VFS on the 10th November and not heard anything yet.

Hi, I am going to apply for a visit visa for my wife, I am currently working in the UK and she is in Thailand. If I write a sponsorship letter for her would it be OK to scan and email it or would they want the original letter. Thanks.

This is the second child passport question I’ve seen in as many days. Admittedly, I’m American, but why not get the child’s Thai passport first, take him to Old Britannia, and then get him/her their EU or British passport? Just curious. Should deal with both anyway.
This is what I did, it was 19yrs ago but wouldn't recommend it, was a nightmare.

It sure was cheaper for me many years ago and others I know who were registered in the provincial hospitals data base. Treated just as a Thai would be, but then definitely not the 30 Thb scheme, but still a lot cheaper than at one of the private big name hospitals.
Yes but that's got nothing to do with the yellow book or ID card, that's available to anyone.

Arrived Tuesday, Qatar Airways handed them out, handed it over at immigration but never returned it, I asked about this and he confirmed they're not used anymore. Why airlines are continuing to hand them out I have no idea.

Just to the Thailand Pass home page. So not sure if I reapply or they know I gave information to the hotel, because reapplying restarts the whole process.
You should have been sent a number, go back to the website and you can edit your details anytime.

The Morchana app does not work on my phone, the Thailand plus apps didn't either.

Any recommendations for Covid insurance, preferably from people who have needed to use it and made a claim. Flying from UK.

That is false and outdated info. That has probably been on their website since before a 30 day extension of a visa exempt has been allowied since 2014.
Embassies and consulates do no know anything about visa exempt entries.
Are you sure about that ubonjoe, I've just started applying for the Thailand Pass and on the Thai Embassy London website it still says that is for applicants after 11 Jan 2022. Thanks.

Think you need to expand on your situation a bit more, I've never been asked for previous passports, they go in the bin.
