  1. Noisy neighbours can be really upsetting and disturbing. If you are buying the last thing on your mind is to come and check whether your neighbours are noisy at various times of the day or night before you sign on the line. Generally speaking the Thai's and Russians are the worst. In our (upmarket) block we try to persuade residents NOT to sell to Ruskies (Thai's wouldn't generally purchase here) but of course a Seller just wants to sell to whoever so its hard to enforce, if at all. Also many owners rent to the Ruskies when not in residence.

Above me is an old Aussie with a young ladyboy. They have had a 7 year relationship so are established but the problem comes when the

Aussie goes home. Wild kotoiy parties take place, fortunately, not frequently, and now they know not to anger me too much. We have an understanding.

I don't email the owner if they are sensible.

So its pot luck who you get above, beside or below you. They often change during your tenure anyway. Music sounds a good idea.

  2. Basil B. My thoughts exactly. I've been responsible for filling these during my working life and normally, ideally, the cassettes (with the dosh) usually slide out from the rear but it Thailand most servicing and replenishing appears frontal. I imagine front sections then, click, lock back into position and negligence has occurred with this particular machine. They normally shut down if tilted or disturbed. Maybe we are too trusting however, who knows?

  3. What the Muslims want is Sharia Law everywhere and subservient women, multiple wives. Peace will never happen. They don't want women to be educated or have meaningful jobs in society. What on earth is a matter with these people. They are hypocrites, trouble makers. Look at Europe now. What a mess! Britain's benefit system is overwhelmed. The infrastructure crumbling with the muslims demands on the NHS, School system and community services overall is crippling. France is trying. Well done to them. Australia has the right idea too. These people must follow the local rules wherever they are, learn to integrate, adopt the local language and adapt or get out. Stop the numbers growing before its too late !

  4. Make an appointment and turn up yourselves ! Do not let your passport out of your sight so near to departure.

Having said that in the UK Hull Thai Consulate were very efficient and did quickly in about 4 days I got everything back. If you decide to send then do it 'Special Delivery' and put a prepaid pre-addressed 'Special Delivery' robust return envelope inside.

  5. Agree with SantiSuk. RBS in UK refunded me a Chaps £35 fee in less than 2 days after I complained that they wrongly sent an International Transfer from Manchester to Bangkok Bank London Branch in St. Mary Axe- A Domestic Transfer. Should have been BACS or Faster Payment Method I think it is called.

No delay there. That is something you may wish to consider ie. If your Thai Bank has a UK Office or Bank, use that method. It is cheaper.

  6. Thanks for comments back. I do not want to be unfair to Etihad and I hope they become competitive again in the future.

As for LHR London Heathow, whatever Terminal, A to Z. Just avoid the whole place! Much more pleasant flying from Birmingham or Manchester. Worth the trip up-country a tad unless, of course, you are in the South then perhaps not feasible.

  7. I am not in full agreement with you about Etihad Airways flights to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi being as good as you say. They have become greedy with their pricing policy and have shortened the life of their airmiles which, if you are trying to save for free or cheaper flights, is so so annoying. I am going back to BKK in September from Manchester. As always I give Etihad a try first but they are way too expensive now. You have to try to book during the 'deals' because other times they are just too expensive.

I am going both ways with Qatar this time and there was at least £100 saving on Etihad prices. I have been with Qatar before and just as good if not better than Etihad. I do not think I shall use Emirates again. Tight with their 'beverages' and uncaring stewards I thought. Now its Qatar for me and the 23,000 saved up airmiles with Etihad, well I shall just have to spend it on rubblsh.
