  1. Is that photo a likeness of the average TV poster one wonders...rolleyes.gif

cant figure out if thats one funny looking gentleman or a woman with a "tash"....either way that "person" says raving axe murdering serial killer to me...biggrin.png

And its interesting the authorities will be looking for computer nerds in the early 80 using 286 PCs, (reference the 40yo picture) I dint know Thailand's scientists were so technologically advanced that they can actually send their investigators back in time 40 years!!!. Perhaps they are now getting help from a time traveling monk who has special powers?

"Depicted in the photo is Mr, Ernie Grumpwisttle, inventor of the backspace key and made famous by being the first person to hack into the girl guides website".

(Just kidding for those who believe everything in print)

  2. Lets put it this way, if the owner of the account was to withdraw the money into his bank account, how would Paypal pay up? they are surely not worth that much, but if the money was "electronic" sort of speak. he could refuse to give back, hire 100 lawyers and keep it in courts for the next 300 years using interest only to pay the legal fees

Paypal should reward him with a few million dollar, because he could have easily put then out of business

As a transfer takes 3 to 5 working days Iam sure Paypal would have noticed the discrepancy before the transaction was completed so I doubt he could have easily put them out of business.

When I do transfers from my PP account to my Barclay's Bank account its done on-line and within seconds, in fact its immediate. Where do you get this "3 to 5 working days from"?

I get it from moving money from my Thai Paypal account to my Thai bank account.

OK, that makes sense then, the Thai system must be quite different. I have a US PayPal account linked to a UK Bank account when I click on the transfer button in my PayPal the money is transferred pretty much at Warp One. (Speed of Light) I know this because I have made a transfer to that bank and straight away spent it with my Barclays Visa debit card if the money hadn't transferred then the second transaction would be refused. (but it doesn't)

  4. Bloody foreigners!whistling.gif

All jobs that includes overcharging, treats, cheating and scamming are reserved for Thai nationals!w00t.gif

What would happen to Thainess, if foreigners took over that market??

Spoke to a friend of mine on the phone today. He's in Pattaya. He said Russians and Chinese everywhere. Russians working, obviously illegally, everywhere. Everyone making money.

It appears no need for the police to extort, scam, cheat etc up in Pattaya when everyone is happy making money and the tourist receive a better service.

It would be interesting to interview two seperate Russian couples - one couple who went to Phuket, and the other couple who went to Pattaya, and hear their comments on their holiday.

Similarly, it would be even more interesting to interview the same Russian couple after they have both been to the other destination - I think Phuket would lose out - twice.

Tourists know when they are getting "ripped" here - and they don't forget, and they don't come back.

Pattaya Police and Mayor are by far more intelligent than their counterparts in Phuket.

In Pattaya they close their eyes on many things, but they get rewarded for it in more ways than 1.

In Pattaya, they do everything trying to keep the place as foreign heaven, because the money keeps rolling 365 days per year and everyone makes their bit, in Phuket they think by taking away money from foreigners, they will make money, not realizing, but by taking away money from foreigners they also scare off foreigners.

ie if there would be no Russian operators, Russians will simply stop to go there.

If there would be no English pub(English owned) English will simply stop to go and so on

Its a totally different mindset in Phuket, the indigenous population are confrontational and not so bright, and are mainly Muslim. Whereas Pattaya's local population have migrated to the area over the last 50 or so years, and have built up business, or come in to build business. There are a lot of Esarn employees as well. Generally the people of Pattaya even though they respect Buddhism generally there are not so many fanatics (exept a few weirdos who collect medallions & cover themselves with tattoos to keep the ghosts away!) but the people are generally calm and level headed with a very healthy live and let live attitude.

  5. You are right, it goes for the whole of Thailand, its bad for an international CV, I bet your email is a hotmail one as well because that will really stand you up for being a looser.

If you are in an international work situation why would you not make your address Switzeralnd or New York or similar.

I still reference a London address and still have London bank accounts and I have been here 30 years!!! "works for me, no raising of eybrows here".wai.gif

Ha ha ha...that must be the funniest thing I have ever read om here...I best delete my hotmail account too cheesy.gif

And before you call other people a 'looser' maybe you should learn how to spell first.

Yes you are totally correct its - "loser"

Just see if you can spot the believable one here:

"stand you up for being a looser."

Sort of shot yourself in the foot with this one. Certainly some people in Pattaya are a little looser than is good for them, but I'm pretty sure you were speaking of "losers."

Yes I stand corrected! I was never a any good at spelin.

  10. My guess is the US authorities wont buy the "no justice" plea when the positive DNA tests come in, but how do they get the DNA samples? from the temple of course, I think they may keep some hair before shaving the head of a monk (part of the ceremony) and some sick people keep the cut toe nails of a revered monk!!blink.png

  11. So they had to wait until he was expelled from the monkhood before they could proceed with legal action. Why, is it some sort of bad karma to go after a serving monk? A criminal is a criminal regardless of their occupation. He is just a guy pretending to have an imaginary friend.

There must be a few U.S citizens in Thai prisons that they can exchange for him or maybe the U.S will want to put this monk on trial themselves.

"A criminal is a criminal regardless of their occupation."

You should know by now- not in a country where a former PM is getting away with his crimes.

The case of the former PM may be different they say they want him back but in fact they really really don't.

It all will depend very much on where the money was coming from and do those supporters and backers have power real power? and are the authorities capable of chewing their right hand off?

  12. So it's " eyeing ' now, a few days ago they were " probing ", faculties of journalism really need to teach a new set of vocabulary.

Anyway the DSI can't arrest him only have him arrested as he's not here.

It's nice 3 monks will return the cars he gave them as they are uneasy, funny thing though they didn't seem to have any qualms about accepting them

"funny thing though they didn't seem to have any qualms about accepting them"

I guess they presumed they were genuine gifts without any shady background, lots of charities "Give" gifts to temples, and its usually all done legally and in good faith (no pun intended). wai.gif

  13. The only Baht Bus (Songtaow) I ever use is the white one that runs along Sukhumvit Road from Sattahip to Naklua its a fixed fare of 20 Baht and only 10 Baht if only a few Km. that service is about every 10 min and is very good. BUT.....

When I do venture down town I take my car or m/bike and I agree the Baht Buses are a real menace to me and when there is a traffic jam it is often a baht bus at its head crawling along and swinging slowly from lane to lane, or sometimes a dick head cop controlling a traffic light manually. facepalm.gif

  14. All this fuss is sort of irrelevant because it will take years to get him back from his Californian home, we all know how easy it is for the very rich to stay free and at large and he will always have his so called devotees with their hands deep in the begging bowl.

What will happen is various parties will re-distribute his massive assets to themselves and try to brush the whole ugly incident under the grass mat.

I have always been extra stupid honest in business so that's why I am sitting here wasting my time writing this and not gallivanting around spending my millions.

Most extremely wealthy people that I know, when in meetings continuously make up stories and deliver cleaver bullshit to bolster their image (such as Sir Richard Branson is my very best friend). I see it all the time lies lies lies = success!

Looks like if you want to be rich and successful you must be a very good liar, unfortunately I could never bring myself to do it so I am relatively poor (for a farang), sitting around wishing life had been better to me.

  15. I am sorry and I know it makes no sense.

Indeed that photo makes no sense as how one should behave esp. if he/she is govt. officer.

Your personal things or feelings makes no sense against your duties and responsibilities.

One should maintain dignity as we live in a society of well qualified people.

So you are saying homosexuals are not qualified for anything? and if they are they should hide behind the uniform and pretend they are tough and straight and never be them selves?

My opinion was, as a police officer he must be a person of dignity and devoted to his duty.

Homosexuality is what he has to keep with him, privately.

His main job is to protect common man, to prevent crime, and likewise.

As a common man, if I encountered some problem and if I am going to report crime to police officer like him, what image he is making in my mind?

Can I trust he is capable to follow his duty promptly.

So you disapprove of this one and you would not trust any of them... right?

  16. LOL... What a pity.

He is a police and he has to engrave his image as Angry Young Man!!!

What are you talking about? your comment makes no sense at all.
