I am sure they meant to say 15 seconds, but as you say it should take no more that a few seconds, as you know the Thais don't know left from right up or down or north or south, its all a bit confusing to the poor things.

I think the police should try the gas for them selves as it might make them "lighten up" a bit! or perhaps they should be given helium gas mixed with the Nitrous Oxide. that would be funny, when they all start laughing like little girls, people would take them even less seriously.. Deliver the evidence to the US authorities and request his extradition. The US cannot harbor this man especially in light of this allegation. Why are all the small dealers found - but never the suppliers and higher ups. Thailand police protects the kingpins because they pay money - sad - if this were a real investigation - they could find those in charge of the distrubtion - not the small dealers only.

Thats also why Thailand will never legalise canabis becaus the more things that are ilegal the more money the cops make, and we all know its the cops that run the country.

Staying in Thailand will always cost you more than you expect. be carefull if you are on a tight buget, also you will need the correct visa & work permit to stay here, the autorities are getting strict.

Personally if this was me the amount of cash you are planing to have available will not be enough.

Two things here that can help,only if she wants to cooperate that is:

1) Get her checked at the clinic for wormes in the gut (I am not kidding, its very common here especially from uncooked meet and seafoods!

2) If she is grossly over weight... get her to go for a gastric bypass opp.

Two questions: Is she obese (too big)? and does she see her eating so much as a problem?

Also if she really does want to eat so much and cant stop, get her to eat more rice to fill up and cut your costs. also dont keep the fridge stocked up so much, or only stock the fridge with your farang food that she wont eat such as stilton cheese etc...
