Not sure why all the Farang get scared. they're not coming for you 200-800K baht...
Yeah, speak to your local street vendors and local shop keepers about taxation in Thailand, their usual reply is "tax? What tax". If they can't collect from their own, how are they going to collect from outside? Plus, most Thais know that this bunch will never be able to make their so-called policies work, most have already given up on EVER receiving the 10,000 digital pay out and the economy getting any better with these in power.

Where did all his Million Baht plus houses and cars come from????????? Did he save up?????

A school I worked at had a teachers' weekend "retreat" (it was actually just having us hand out pamphlets on the sidewalk for one of their new schools opening in the neighborhood). On Saturday night we were required to provide a teaching lesson. One particular lesson I actually liked was one on critical thinking.
The following Monday I tried applying that lesson in one of my classes. A supervisor walked by and shut me down quick, fast, and in a hurry.
I remember the last so-called professor to speak out about Thai education (or lack of it) he was put out to grass about 2 weeks later.

I don't think it's just one! This year there has been an incident involving violent and disturbing behavior by foreigners almost every month, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and now Udon.

Do you mean, OPINION? How do you know he was being a "nuisance"? I would replace your sentence..." I'm out numbered here, so many elderly guys on AN. With...I'm out numbered here, so many brighter guys on AN.

Ever the xenophobe! Was just praising him on another thread in standing up for weed, but he’s capitulated with this knob of a pm and can’t help himself but attack foreigners. Anyone should be arrested for operating an illegal weed shop, shouldn’t they?
I hope the government gets of serious reprisals for dialling it back and screwing with people’s lives.
Don't weed outlets come under the same law as reserved occupation for Thais only???????? Not sure.

Who is AL ?
Artificial indeed... Not a lot of intelligence in handing over 200,000 baht to an agent up front...
... that doesn't help the Op though...
Could he file a police report as part of a scam - then show the agent and if she doesn't refund threaten to file charges ?...
Ops objective is surely to get his PR... so it could push the agent into action.
The real possibility that he'll get any money back is extremely thin IMO - the agent is probably broke !
It all depends on what he was paying the agent for.........If it was for an under the table job because he didn't have the right paperwork/money. blacklist, overstay. it seems a lot 200,000 for a visa and nothing happens in 2 years. Is he on overstay????? Could be a number of reasons.

Have at it, mate! This guy should be PM not that useless smiling donkey of a mouthpiece damp squib.
Rarely touch the stuff but having the choice is nice. It has done the country absolutely NO F HARM whatsoever other than upset some fragile expat’s olfactory senses. It is all politics, deflection and a silly national face thing. Leave it alone and focus on making life better in this country, eh what!

So why not hold a referendum ?
Let the Thai people decide .
There are good points and bad ones , but , as long as alcohol is allowed , and meth is tolerated in small quantities , criminalizing Cannabis again would be pure hypocrisy .
In Switzerland , they use to hold referendums and ask the population what they want ...
Why not in the Thailand ?
Have a referendum???????????? Ha! They have an election every 4 years, the people decide for what they want, the people are ignored, and life goes on.

Even though she has been sexually assaulted and threatened with a firearm, SHE is the one who reported him - therefore a "grass" - granted not a nice description but :-
"Definition. a person who informs, usually on criminals. (British, slang)"
(In this particular case, it would appear that "victim" could be substituted for "person", but let's test a conspiracy theory:-
Girlfriend has been "bought" from a bar, and falls out with the boyfriend over money, so says she has been sexually assaulted. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but are sexual favors not what bar girls provide? The fact that he has firearms all over the place gives her an "edge" so she "grasses" him up?
Personally, I'm glad they caught him, the only Russians (or any other foreigner) that have firearms shouldn't be here - their country is at war, and if he has such a liking for firearms I am sure that nice Mr Putin could find him a job?
So your saying its ok to rape and sexually assault girls/women so long as you have paid the bar fine. I would say she is a VICTIM not a grass.

8 minutes ago, Jack Hammer said:The government should check all of his assets and ask him to explain how he acquire such wealth on a policeman’s salary. I know the stock answer is he comes from a wealthy family. If his family is that wealthy, why is he a policeman? While they are at it also check all other high-ranking officials
That would mean the government would have to investigate itself.

They do it on TV about 30 times a day. Singa, Chaing, Leo, and Carabao First three do it by soda water, but they know everyone thinks beer. Carabao does it openly with the Carabao Cup and Champions League. on Thairath in Thailand and Bein Sports which also can be seen in Thailand.

I'm still amazed at how easy it is to steal jewelry from Thai gold shops
Police think the taxi driver was in on it. I think if he was, there were more than him involved. You ask to see a 1-million-baht bracelet, so the assistant takes it out puts in on the counter and gets distracted????? How convenient!

What a very strange argument you field.
So using your logic, should Heroin be legalized?
After all, just because it's there, you don't have to shoot up.
It's people that carry out the crimes to get their next fix, not the Heroin,
Correct! Alcohol is legal, just because you don't want to drink it, doesn't mean it should be band! It's like murder and rape, they aren't legal, but some people choose to commit these crimes, others don't. In ALL societies you are going to get those who break the law and those who respect the law. Look what happened in the 1920s , 1930s how many people (including innocent one) were murdered just because the government band alcohol. It the same with drugs same thing is happening, just a different product!
