totally agree... but must not forget the parents who dont get involved in their kids education (checking on homework, explaining concepts kids dont understand) and who are quick to protest if their kids get in trouble or get poor scores. education belongs to society and all must work together to make it work

I think you will find the same is happening in the UK standards are dropping due to, Calculators used in a math's test; dictionaries used in an English test. Computers that correct every mistake you make, a phone that tells you the time (another thing they no longer teach) speaks the message so they don't have to read it, tap in 2 or 3 letters and it gives them a choice of words to use, so they don't have to know how to spell it. Times have changed. Plus, what language are the tests in, Thai, English?????????

It's not busy like it was last year, most mornings I take a drive down to the beach and have a coffee somewhere, few people down the beach early but when you look at the car and bike rental shops full of bikes for rent, locals are saying it's not busy like last year.

Not just tourist areas. None tourist areas are feeling the same pinch. just no money around. Locals where i live are all talking about the situation and 90 percent are not happy about the restrictions placed on this digital B10,000 hand out, as it doesn't really benefit them. Plus. It already looks like the handout will be delayed by 7-8 months.

legal or not. Any older person that wants to stick his w!llie in a minor should be locked up. Also men here that think they can have a normal relation with a girl thats 35 years younger..........what a joke. Get youself examined.

Age of consent in Thailand is 15 for both boys and girls. Not say it is RIGHT. But that's the law. Remember the RTP turn a blind eye to lots and lots of ILLEGAL activity for a price, including underage sex with children as young as 8. Plus I do believe joke was removed to an inactive post for doing similar things. Some years ago a 9 year old girl was found to be pregnant, the father of the child was 35 years old. The family informed the police that the couple were married. NO ACTION TAKEN. again, not saying it's right. But TIT.

If they submit the TM30  it will go into the immigration database so if/when immigration checks it will show up,some immigration offices make an issue of others seem not bothered even when returning from overseas

    (to the same address)

All "hotels" are supposed to report, if they ask for your passport at check in I think it's almost certain they will report to immigration.

I have done it a few times reporting when I leave the Province I live for another. EVERY TIME they are not interested. They just say Mai Pen Rai and wave me away.

Welcome back Mr Surachate. If anyone in the force is going to get to the bottom of this story/accusations/ rumors, it’s him. Many on this forum seem to dislike him, but there again, each to his own opinion. It’s certainly not good to have stories like this published in international news . Lots of viewers/readers will believe it, even if it’s not true. Thailand and especially Pattaya has a bad enough reputation as it is.

Wasn't he and most of his department sent to INACTIVE posts due to extortion of foreigners on overstay and go-go bars, About 4 years ago????????

Farang tax scenario definitely was written by him.

It the other way round. When he was PM he told immigration and labor to leave westerners alone as they spent their money in Thailand, not sending it home like others from Asian countries. I never had a problem extending my non-B visa. Only after he was removed by force did it become near impossible to get an extension to your non B visa, student visa, non O visa with-out at least 3 or 4 visits to immigration. I went 3 times with the same paperwork, refused 3 times on the fourth time went with the exact same paperwork as before and got the 1-year extension. By the way the military government proposed the tax on foreigners.NO TAX PENSIONS.

What's the problem? Was anybody harmed?

If people don't like to see sexy girls, then don't go there and don't watch!

Because it is in the vicinity of a Buddhist Temple and can be clearly viewed. Thai Culture is very strict about women dressing sexually if visiting a temple. It's a bit like eating a bacon sandwich on the steps of a Mosque.

You miss the the whole point of this argument, it is NOT about what is he entitled to, it is about showing that he, as a mega rich man and with aspirations to be a leader in this country again, can be a the bigger man and DO THE RIGHT THING and show that he doesn't need the country to fund his stay in hospital.. got my drift now?...

He is in prison so no access to his riches. Plus have you ever been to the Police Hospital? It was first built in the 1800s, it was first used as a pox hospital mainly for prostitutes. It was revamped by the prince's charity, and turned into a teaching hospital, before it became the RTP Hospital in the 1970s. Thaksin did a lot of things to help the poor and low-income working class and the farmers who were getting ripped off by the rich and powerful in Bangkok. Plus he never ordered the shooting of Thai civilians by the RTA, who NO ONE was ever brought to account for under the military government. Why do you think the minority yellow shirts wanted him out? He has and is doing nothing that all the politicians/ military have done before and after him.

If all prisoners have their medical bills paid by the state then this is a non story and a deliberately inflammatory article. It is published to agitate public opinion and cause trouble.

For mild cases they are treated in the dispensary at the prison, if server then ANY prisoner is transferred to A government hospital, not matter who you are. or how rich you are. All at the taxpayers' expense.

On the contrary, he should have shown that he's not here to use the system and mooch of his privileged past positions as a police officer and a PM, if i were him, i would offer to build a new wing to police hospital just to show his gratitude, but no, that would not good ol' Thaksin..

SO YOU think these MPs and police are not using the system to make money. BY the way: under HIS health care plan (when he was PM) it would have cost the taxpayer B300 a day to treat those on NO or low income. The Military government abolished that. He is in a police hospital, which is government funded.

Did anyone expected any other outcome? this is akin to adding insults to injuries where this man, without an ounce of shame,

sticking his middle finger at the whole country...

All prisoners ger Health care at the taxpayers expense. Under HIS health care plan, it would have cost the government B300 a day. But the Military government took that away.PS: He is in a police hospital.

Like you said, you have never been in a pub/bar. That might explain your ignorance regarding your comment "Get a life". If you never had experience of one, how can you know that people visiting do not have a life?

On the other hand, you are perfectly right, when you posted that you do not know.

They tried the same in England with night clubs staying open till 4 am, but NO alcohol sales after 2 am. I think that is the Thai authorities intention here. 4am closing but NO alcohol sales after 2am. That's what was on the agenda. It may have changed now.
