    Wrong

My agent does it - sends to me on Line

I keep my passport at home, except for once a year when it travels to Immi

Ah OK, I used an agent for the first time, and last, 5 years ago and they wanted my passport every 90 days to do the reporting, last couple of times I had to drive past immigration to get to the agent, as I'd moved area.

It costs less than a bowl of noodles a day - that is the money saved

    And no 90 day reports

You do have to do 90 day reports, either by sending your passport to an agent, or, as I do, online.

It used to be a 10 minute wait, & free.

Correct, I remember the first one I got, she gave me the certificate and then asked for 500 Baht, I said thank you and walked off without paying telling her it's free. A couple of years later they asked for the 500 Baht before they would process it!! That's when I decided to get a "Yellow book".

Thanks pgthompson. Your situation is a little diff than mine but as Britman initially posted, he didn't have a TM30 and didn't get fined. I guess it it's just a question of 1600 baht fine, not a huge deal. But I still think I must get the ID of the landlady and the house book for this rental house. My wife feels the landlady was not so keen when we asked for that. I did just register online to do a TM30 but again, with some missing info. We'll see how that goes. I appreciate you taking the time to explain things. Cheers again!

The fine is for the landlord to pay, not you. They should have done a TM30 within 24 hours of you arriving.

Thanks so much. Hmm, so no TM30, yes? House book...this is the house where you live or is it your wife's house book just confirming her ID? And no contract showing where you live? Questions about the landlord's/landlady's ID was never part of the equation? I assume the income the owner of my house makes from the rent is not recorded and they don't want any governmental agencies sniffing around. Maybe it doesn't matter in Thailand and I'm off on the wrong track but politicians in the US have gone down just for paying a cleaning lady under the table.

I'm missing some documents pertaining to my rental house....expired contract (though we've been here 5 years) and so far, no landlady ID nor housebook and no TM30. Thus my Spanish Inquisition of your journey.

    Cheers!

    Hi mate,

They didn't ask me about the TM30, but I do that online so I presume it's in the system, a friend of mine did his 60 day extension last month and was fined 1600 baht because he'd never done one in the past 15 years, he also had to go to the Amphur for his Kor2, same immigration office but different officers, so it could be a luck of the draw!

We have a mortgage so The wife has the Black book with her name and daughter in it, I have a Yellow book with just my name in it.

@pgthompson > Just read in your post re 60-day extension of stay application that you provided

    >>> Copy of daughter's birth certificate

In case you are not aware - when applying for the 1-year extension of stay for reason of having Thai dependant child(ren), there is NO need to season the 400K funds-in-bank for two months.  You would only need to show that the funds are on your Thai bank-account at the moment of application.

And you would need to keep them there for 3-4 weeks during the 'under consideration period', but once you get the 1-year permission to stay stamp in your passport, you are free to use the funds as you please.

When considering to apply for reason of Thai dependent child(ren), do check whether there are any other requirements that need to be met when applying for that reason (e.g. school certificate).  There have also been some reports of applicants that did not need to season the 400K for two months even when applying for reason of marriage, when they had Thai dependent children.  But in that case it is recommended to enquire beforehand at your IO about their policy for such application.

I did ask about that over a week ago and the immigration officer told me because my Visa from HCMC had a hand written note over it saying it was issued for marriage to (wifes name) I couldn't do that.

I transferred the funds a couple of weeks ago, at 41.65 baht, still a massive loss to what I used to get when I first came to Thailand but needs must.

Many thanks for yours and Ubonjoe input on many visa questions, I'm sure I speak for a hell of a lot of people of the value of both your answers.

  11. Just a heads up, went to CM immigration yesterday for 60 day extension, Non O based on marriage dated to December but as I couldn't leave the Country, expired June.
Set of documents, there was an earlier report that they wanted 2 but I only submitted 1 as the person at Information said that's all I needed, he also stated that a Kor 2 was also needed, this was last week.
Turned up at 10am yesterday, was met by a polite lady at information, she checked my paperwork and then gave me a ticket.
Was called at 10.45 to another pleasant immigration officer and got stamped from 27th September, she gave me back the Kor2 stating it wasn't needed but to hold on to it and do a copy as I'll need it for the yearly extension in November, I asked her if it would still be valid as it's dated 16th September, she said no problem.

Indeed it doesn't.  But even if it did then it doesn't matter all that much because it still brings in money.   This is also why buying a little on the high side isn't actually something to worry too much about;  over 10 years or so it doesn't really matter if you bought something for 2 million, 1.5 million or 2.5 million.

4am on weekends.  Recently after Spicy closed, Spotlight was still going just fine.

But erm.. what's this legality you speak of?  :)

Thailand cultivates a semi-legal corruption-harvest zone in all kinds of areas and nightlife is no exception.

Well done to the new updated website, why is Uber showing on this reply, Tech team - I hope you haven't paid for the upgrade.

Anyway, WTK,  Trying to include the quote that you replied to regarding property prices never go down.

Property prices DO go down but because of the mentality of the Thais, they will leave property empty for many years rather than discount them.

How many empty properties are there for sale in CM at stupid prices and empty for many years, I've spent the last 6 months looking for a house and no one would budge on price. It was cheaper for me to have a house built.

I love pizza. People who know me know that I love pizza. In fact I've spent most of my 60 years in a love affair with pizza. I can still remember when I was a young kid and I got my parents to buy me a pizza bake oven. Yes, just like a girls easy bake oven but for pizza. I can still remember sitting in my closet making pizza from the dough mix that they gave to me and the canned pizza sauce. Consider this, I have loved pizza and I know pizza like many of the pizza aficionados of the world. I read about pizza and I revel in it.

So while Diamand King might be an <deleted> lets get into the specifics of the pizzas he promotes.

2 gather Bar- Good job on promotion and a nice pizza but far from the best. Chiang Mai eats is run by a bunch of guys who are about, anti The Duke's and who promote their own agenda. While they do a decent pizza it is far from the best in Chiang Mai. It is OK though. It is very similar to the pizza at Street Pizza.

I love Street Pizza but it is not a great pizza. I's good and has some real olive oil but not great.

Papa Rocks is always great pizza > Nikki knows how to cook and his pizza is good.

Itaslics, the best pizza in Chiang Mai is at the best weak and at the least the worst. It's one thing to claim to be the best but they are not. Georgios is much better.

I've not had a few of the other places pizza but one thing would be for sure would be that I would love them. Why? because I love pizza.

So where do I eat pizza? If I did not have The Duke's I would buy from...

Agreed, friday special 125 instead of 250....but you basically only get half the amount of fish, hence the half price!

Like I've said, I will try Yummys, but the Papa Rock special is adequate for me, two pieces of fish, chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce and salad.

I'm 5' 10" and 15 stone and the special does me for lunch.

Sorry to say, Papa Rock not a patch on Yummy. Everythings always slipshod at Papa Rock cos Nickys in the kitchen cooking, bless his heart, while that dippy (drugged up?) ex of his is out front not seeming to know what the heck is going on!

Papa Rock charges 250 for fish n chips, including mushy peas. Yummy charges 220 but no mushy peas. Last time I went to Papa I got no mushy peas "dont have today..." but I still got charged 250!

For me both the way the fish is fried, and the chips better at Yummy. Papa Rock uses those horrible big fat chips from a freezer bag which are quite unsuitable for fish n chips.

Well, I do need to try Yummy then, Papa Rock Friday Special on F&C are 125 /150 ? Baht and I found the chips were very good, not sure if they're  frozen as they have the skin on and tasted good, the mushy peas and tartar sauce were good as well.
