  1. Right, that is my impression as well of the whole new thing when reading the articles. Not much gain for us with pension or salary from the home country at all. And NOT back to how it was in previous years before 2024 and earlier. So not much to celibrate.
  2. So if I want to remitt income earned in this year (2025) for example 5 years later then I must pay tax? The rule about remitted within the same year or the following year will not apply and I need to pay tax on that. That is a way of forcing the foreign income into Thailand faster. If waiting more than following year of the earning we must still pay tax and we are still screwed. But later on...
  3. When you send with Wise you don´t link to any bank. You just make a transaction or payment from your bank in Turkey to the Kasikorn bank. Wise is between the banks and are taking care of the exchange from Lira to THB and then sending the money along. There are 4-5 different payment methods on the Wise webpage. Use the method that is best for you. Credit card is fastest but also most expensive. A normal bank transaction is the cheapest (2-3 days). Wise then exchanges the money and sends THB to the bank in Thailand. If you feel unsafe about the procedure you can always call them in UK. I personally prefer to do the transaction on computer in a browser and not in a phone app. Easier to understand the procedure on a bigger screen than the small phone.
  4. As a tourist I am thinking, is the air clean (PM2.5)? Are the 10 000 hanging cables in the streets safe (they are not)? Where can I find a place for me and my kids that is not smelling cannabis all over the place? Is the traffic safe? Is it safe for my kids to cross the road on the zebra-crossing (very dangerous)? I would concentrate on things like that. I as a tourist don´t care if someone is overstaying...
  5. He should talk about micro and nano plastics in our bodies. Every american gets 2,4 g each month in his body by air, water and food. Indonesians get 12,4 gram/month. Just two examples. It goes for every person on earth. That is a huge threat for mankind in the future.
  6. Why is that? I have sent to another person and bank for years. I think most do that.
  7. Better they ban the cannabis. Allowing the cannabis smoking will have a much more influence in the tourists (familys wirh kids mostly).
  8. Thanks for the link and all the other information as well. Interesting info about Skype. I did not know it was sold twice. First to Ebay and then to Microsoft. A lot of money involved. Also interesting info about Zeenström and Friis. I followed their links as well. It look like we have to try Teams then after 5:th of May. Problem is the video quality and also the sound that is excellent in Skype. I have tried several other Voip apps and so far none of them had the same quality. Maybe Teams is better now than a couple of years ago when I used it in my work when we had quick, informal video meetings.
  9. Thanks, yes that is propably the case. But how did Skype work before Microsoft bought it? Was Skype run trough a server that time as well or was it direct with no server between the peers?
  10. Can Skype work without Microsoft when it comes to peer to peer videochat? Or is the cloud involved in some way? There are millions Skype software out there on internet and in private computers, so I wonder if Microsoft can delete them all? How will this be done of Microsoft when they stop with Skype? Maybe they only stop updates but Skype can still exist?
  11. No, I had only the contacts I used to chat with in Skype.
  12. If there will be a message when having bad air, then it will sound almost every day.
  13. Whatsapp chares your personal information with Meta. So that is not an option for me.
  14. But they want to have access to all your contacts in your contactlists. If you not accept that you can not create a Viber account.
  15. The swedes are building excellent submarines as well...
  16. Fix the PM2.5 issue and the tax for foreign income and it will come more Europeans.
  17. Yes, and eye contact between drivers in 2 cars is impossible. If talking in general about the traffic in Thailand.
  18. Cannot make eye contact with the tinted windows.
  19. And what is done against the Thai officials that accepts the bribes?
