  1. Thanks. Do they care where the funds are transferred from i.e. from a foreign bank account, trading platform, WISE etc.? I am referring to 65k for pensioners and 40k for married people.
  2. I did it yesterday in Nonthaburi IO. I had to show the bank letter of having 400k thb on my bank account, then updated bank book but they also asked for a 3 months statement in order to see that the amount didn't go below 400k for the last two months - I asked for 3 months statement and that was it. I use Kasikorn
  3. Hi, Not sure if people are aware yet so I will share it anyway. If this is an obsolete info, please delete the post. Today I went to Nonthaburi immigration office to extend my non-O marriage visa based on having 400k THB on my bank account for 2 months. As usual, I received my "Under consideration" stamp but was said that I must keep the funds until i receive the extension stamp which is in one month. More specifically, when I come to receive the extension stamp in my passport, I must bring with myself the bank book updated the same day to prove that the amount hasn't been under 400k. I did the same in 2023 and this wasn't the case i.e. they didn't ask for the money to be one extra month on my bank account. Last year, I did it based on my WP so I can't say when this practice started. In addition, I received 4 - 5 extra forms to fill in which are not on the list of non-O marriage visa requirements - some of them I also received last year but there were some new ones. The lady at the counter has them ready and hands them out. This was my personal experience in Nonthaburi immigration office I thought to share in case someone finds it useful. Cheers!
  4. Does calling out people as hansom man count into sexual harassment? Asking for a friend
  5. Happy for you making this strategic life decision. Good luck!
  6. Wait, what? I am confused now. I have a saving account in Kasikorn bank and keep the 400k thb there. I am to extend my marriage non-O visa in mid-January. How can I check if I am OK with this type of account?

Sorry, I didn't mean to add to your paranoia but let it make complete: https://www.boredpanda.com/how-to-spot-atm-scam/ You already follow a good practice by using ATMs in banks, shopping malls etc., so you should be good.
  8. Great. Reveal the whole list but not random people. Otherwise we suspect the list is used selectively and as an instrument for manipulation.
  9. Thank you for confirming. This is new info for me. Hopefully, I won't need it in the future 🙂
  10. Thank you Tod for the update. I am on a non-O marriage visa extension in Nonthaburi and live with my wife and child. Do you maybe know if we can avoid 400k two months seasoning if instead applying for the current visa extension I go for raising Thai child visa? I know I must ask in Nonthaburi immigration office but I would like to know if I am married with Thai wife, do I have to apply for the marriage visa extension by default i.e. I can only go for Thai child dependent visa in case I am divorced. I am asking this question for informational purposes.
  11. Wondering why THB is not stronger against EUR and other currencies but only against the US dollar.
  12. This topic is not brought up enough and is a good reminder for most of the long-term foreigners staying in Thailand as well as the ones who want to live here forever. The only option on top of my mind is to use a visa agent for around 15k thb a year and invest 1.5 mil thb in a short term US treasury bonds ETF (I would use UCITS accumulating in US currency). 500k I would keep in a Thai bank. From the bonds you would get approx 60k thb a year and from 500k thb in a Thai bank you would get around 7.5k a year. Adding this to your monthly income you have 35500 a month and when paying 18500 thb it is 17000 thb. However, you must cut 1250thb a month for the visa agent so you stay on roughly 15k thb. Please keep in mind that this is just a first scenario that came into my mind and if you would dedicate some additional time in researching you may do better. Good luck!
  13. Really. So in IO it is 1000thb and at the airport it costs only 200thb?
  14. Thanks. That's what I am trying to explain to people.
  15. Thank you for responding. Yeah, I will put in 400k and keep it there for 2 months. First, I will receive the "under consideration" stamp and after one month the extension is granted. However, I really wouldn't like to keep 400k in the bank for 3 instead of 2 months. When I used this method 2 years ago, they asked for the seasoned 400k proof and that was it.
  16. Hi folks, I am a non-immigrant O marriage visa holder based on a marriage with Thai wife in Nonthaburi. I used 400k seasoned funds for my first extension and for the second I used my monthly salary income. I have a company with my wife where I am appointed as a director (the usual setup 51% share of my wife and 49% share of mine). Now, we are closing the company and my last salary will be at the end of September. My monthly salary was 90k THB. The next extension I need to apply for is in January and I am aware that the best way is to keep 400k THB in a Thai bank for 2 months but I am wondering if there is a possibility of avoiding that by still using my monthly salary income from January 2025 until the end of September and then to withdraw 50k Thb from a trading platform (XTB - it is registered in Thailand) in October, November and December. By the way, I will continue transferring 50k Thb a month for the next two years to my Thai bank account and ideally based on this income, I will apply for the forth marriage visa extension next year, too (of course, if this is at all possible). My question is if there is a way to combine my monthly salary income of 90K THB and 50k THB monthly withdrawals (in October, November and December) to satisfy the financial requirements for non-immigrant O visa extension? My second question is related to my work permit cancellation which will happen at the end of September or early October this year. Does cancelling my WP have any implications on me staying in Thailand or I simply don't care because I am not on non-immigrant B but I am on a marriage visa so I am eligible to stay in the country until I satisfy their financial requirements? Thank you in advance for reading my post and potentially answering my questions.
  17. Any packages from 3 to 5k a month? Would rather skip filling the form and have a call if the monthly payment is above this range?
  18. Any family medical insurance for three members? We are already under Thai social security and medically covered but any family packages in addition to that?
  19. From my personal experience in Nonthaburi, they only came for the first extension. I extended it the second time recently and am under consideration stamp now. I must go there on 28th February and they still didn't call me so it's possible they only come first time to your house.
