  1. After some research here I am back folks with another sub-question regarding this topic. By the way, I was in Changwatana immigration office by there is still one doubt I have. As stated earlier, my WP will be cancelled on 31st October by my employer and therefore my non-immigrant B visa will also be cancelled at the same day by default (if I understand correctly). My new employer will be able to have all the WP documents ready by beginning of November and I will apply for a non-immigrant O visa (based on marriage) in Laos. What I am thinking about now is to be a bit proactive and go to Laos and apply for non-immigrant O visa before my WP gets cancelled which will happen on 31st October. I am thinking to do the following: 1. Go to Laos on 24th October and apply for non-immigrant O visa 2. Come back to Thailand and have the non-immigrant O visa in my passport 3. At the beginning of November I am ready to apply for WP in Nonthaburi However, I have a following doubt. Once I leave Thailand for Laos on 24th October without a re-entry stamp, my non-immigrant B visa will be cancelled by default but my WP will still be valid. Is there a chance that Thai immigration in Laos will see that my WP is still active and reject my application for non-immigrant O visa so I will have to wait until my current employer cancells my WP on 31st October anyway? Thank you folks again.
  2. Thank you very much guys. Means to me a lot. I live in Nonthaburi and will go to Nonthaburi immigration to ask for the non-immigrant O visa documentation requirements.
  3. Thank you very much. I have had the WP for the last 5 years. Does it cover the financial requirements for applying for non-immigrant O based on marriage with my Thai wife and not leaving the country?
  4. Hi folks, Could you please tell me if I can apply for a work permit based on a non-immigrant O marriage visa? Currently I have a non-immigrant B visa and a WP and my company will cancel it on 31st December because this is when my business contract ends. I am aware that I must go to the immigration in Thailand to cancel my non-immigrant B visa and I plan to go out of Thailand and to apply for a non-immigrant O marriage visa based on my marriage with my Thai wife and come back to Thailand. My specific question would be if I find a company that would employ me and wants to make a WP for me, could I use my non-immigrant O marriage visa for this? Thank you very much in advance. Cheers!

  6. Hello all, I got an employment offer from a company abroad. However, they don't have a subsidiary in Thailand and want me to register a company in Thailand so they can pay me the salary. They insist on registering a company here and to have a visa and WP so all the other options about registering a company in other countries are not an option. My annual income would be between 2 and 3 million THB so I am wondering what type of Thai company I should register for this purpose. I have been browsing and reading a plenty of company's websites that offer the type of service of company registration and realized the most common firm types are a Thai Limited Company and a partnership Company. I am not a US citizen so I can't fully own a firm but I am married with a Thai citizen so I assume I need 1m THB for the initial investment. Would you be so kind as to recommend what type of company I should register for my specific context which is just to run a company for the purpose of receiving salary from a company abroad? Thank you in advance.
  7. If it's a desktop, make sure you have a high quality power supply. The high quality ones cost around 5 - 7k thb. Also the cooling fan should be of a high quality although the new generation CPUs shut down by themselves in case of overheating. If it's a laptop, I wouldn't because it is decreasing the lifespan of the device. Of course you can but the cooling should be good and especially here in Thailand.
  8. Hi. My mother was here last month for three weeks and took all the drugs she uses daily and biweekly. She also took her prescriptions )not translated to English) with her in case someone stops her at the customs. No one stopped her. I intuitively think that no one would care about a small bag of personal drugs, unless it is something extreme (and I am sure they are trained well and capable of identifying the real stuff). In case they stop you, show the prescriptions and in my subtle opinion that's it.

  10. I had a serious operation a month ago. The overall perception is very positive.
  11. Thank you very much for sharing very personal context. Undoubtfully you have invested lots of effort and patience in this repertoire but it can keep you away from all thise pills. I sincerely admire what you do and will share this with her.
  12. Yes, rheumatoid arthritis for sure. I am aware what she is going through. A very mean disease. She stopped taking pills last year because they do not help her pain and she takes those steroids (if I am right). Then she jumped to some Swiss research program to try with that and it helped a bit. I do not know what I could do for her here that can't be done back in the West. Those balms helped her a bit before.
  13. I regularly visit public and private swimming pools all aroung Bkk and its greater area but have not asked about the technology they use. Can't say the pools are perfectly clean here but can't also say they are so dirty I would not let my 1.5 year old child swim in them. Generally, I am happy and everyone looks happy. Do we drink some fecalie in the pools? Sure we do but it also strengths our imunity ????
  14. My mother in Europe hs it as well. She has her terapy. She is coming to see me soon. Could someone advise where I should take here to help her a bit? Anything oriental except grass (which we plan to do as well)?

  16. In my personal opinion you likely faced a (bank) person or department lacking knowledge. I use to send money from Europe to Thailand and vice versa from my personal accounts (my full name stated) and from any bank perspective it is more favourable to do so because you are clearly and more identifiable when it comes to money laundering policies etc. (either external (the Government) or internal (bank policies)). For example, you have transacted the funds from your personal account from Thailand to your wife's personal account in Australia. That's also fine but someone in administration may raise the question about why didn't you send the funds to yourself directly but you had sent it to your wife's bank account (I know you could prove this easily but administration may not see it that way initially). Regarding NDID, I am not aware of this term / regulation (I am not a financial expert and limiting myself to aforesaid). However, my advice is not to question their pride but maybe approach to some other banks in Thailand and explore. My transactions are, I must admit occasional, and are done by crypto (and not more than 5000 Eur). It is true you must have some knowledge and experience about it, and especially if you send similar amount of funds you have just send but it works for my use. You may also explore TransferWise. TransferWise is a middle ground for Europeans but I am not sure about Australians. When I say "middle ground", I am referring to consensus i.e. you are not with any bank that guarantees 100% security but you are also not alone in the crypto world with all the risks (you are paying for knowledge). Anyway, if you want all the risks to be taken away, you use regular banks. If you want to save, then you invest your time in learning how the crypto world works. If you want to take a middle ground, have a look at these companies like TransferWise. Conclusion: everything depends on you personal context.
  17. Good mate. Thank you for sharing all these info. We have quite a transparency here. I guess the other people find this info valuable.
  18. Ok. Now I see what they are doing. The transaction fee per se was 1100. However, they earn on the currency exchange rate. Their value AUD 24.19 THB. Paypal has been doing the same thing for the last 5 - 6 years. Low transaction fees but they hit on the currency exchange rates. Thailand Super Rich (TSR) currency exchange is pretty good parameter for comparison. If referred to TSR, you were charged around 800 AUD for the currency exchange rate + 1100THB transaction fee which altogether amounts to around 850 AUD (a very rough estimate). Still looks decent to me relating the amount you have sent. Good idea by them to only state the transaction fee and not the currency transaction fee, though (lack of transparency). Of course, it would be much cheaper to send it by crypto but it requires certain level of knowledge and transaction risk would be on you. You happy, bank(s) happy = everyone is happy ????
  19. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a very good deal. Honestly, I am quite surprised with so low transaction cost for that amount. Banks must have started keeping pace with the technology. I read about 2 years ago they started using ripple (crypto) for their transactions in the background so this could be result of it.
  20. The transaction has already been completed. I am asking if he wants to share the transaction costs. It's on his discretion whether he would share this info.
  21. Typical West's propaganda. If Putin had wanted this, Ukraine would have not already existed. Thailand, my respect for not being a puppet and getting involved in someone elses wars. Also, very good point that the mess that is being done in the UN is closing options for diplomatic resolution but continues sending innocent people to death.
  22. Thank you for encouragement and sharing your experience. I am too busy to focus on learning Thai. When I say busy, I think really busy working, working on my PhD and raising a small child. So what would happen if he asks me in Thai what he could do in my home county and I start mixing Thai and English? For example I do not say you can eat cake but I say khun samad gin cake etc etc.
