  1. This is how I understand it - or at least this is how I intend to do it. Once you have 90 days or one year non-immigrant O based on marriage, you apply for the one year extension based on 400k two months seasoned money. As the guys say, the WP has nothing to do with this visa. Then, when you will be applying for the one year extension next year, you will do it based on your 12 months proof of income which is for us married guys 40k monthly minimum. I also intend to apply for one year re-entry permit so can come and go whenever I want. In case you stay in the country up to 90 days, you report it to your local immigration office. The only thing that bothers me is the consideration period for the one year extension that takes 30 days because during that period I think we are stuck in Thailand and can't go out. Or is there some workaround for this?
  2. Thank you all. Based on what I understand from your responses is that I can get a one year long extension based on 400 000 thb two months seasoned money on my Thai bank account and then do 90 days reporting in my local immigration office. Once this is done, I can pay for a multiple re-entry which I think costs 3800 thb and then come and go as I wish. Then next year when my extension of stay is to expire, I will apply for another one year extension but this time based on my proof of income that should exceed 40 000 thb monthly. Then, I will again pay for the multiple re-entry and come and go as I wish and report for 90 days in country. If this what I wrote above is correct, then I made a mistake when applied for 1 year non-immigrant O ME visa in Savannakhet because although I was granted a 1 year ME visa, I have to apply for extension in my local immigration and show 400k seasoned. It was better if I applied for 3 months long non-immigrant O ME that costed 2000thb (I paid 5000thb for 1 year) and then do as same as I am planning to do i.e. to season my 400k and then apply for the extension.
  3. Thank you. I will explore the prerequisite conditions for extension of stay
  4. Thank you very much for the answer. My current date of permission to stay is until 31st January. I thought that now when I got a one year non-immigrant O visa and the work permit based on it, I didn't need to leave the country every 90 days but needed to do 90 days report which seems is me not understanding this whole thing correctly. Does this mean that I have to go to my local immigration immigration office and apply for one year extension permission to stay? If this is the case, would it suffice to show them the work permit or I have to show them the proof of 400 000 thb seasoned 2 - 3 months on my bank account?
  5. I also have a one year non-immigrant O marriage visa and a work permit. Am I also required to leave the country every 90 days or I can just go to immigration in Thailand to report every 90 days?
  6. Thank you but I am still confused. Let's try to understand by usin an example. The current visa i have is one year non-immigrant O marriage visa and the date of expiry is 31st October 2024. I should have my WP issued on 8th November 2023 and it will be valid until 7th November 2024. Regarding extensions, let's say my employer wants me to work minimum next 5 years for his company. What am I doing next year before my visa expiration date? Don't I get an extension based on my employment? Regarding leaving Thailand for business trips and coming back multiple times during the next year, are you saying I don't need to get the re-entry permit from the immigration every time before I leave Thailand and pay them 1000 thb or pay at once for a multiple re-entry valid for one year but I just come and go?
  7. Won't I need the re-entry permits anyway? I had a 90 day non-immigrant B visa for 5 years based on what i had a wp and I could choose if I wanted to make re-entry every time before leaving the country or to pay for multiple re-entry that costs 3800thb. I still don't understand what are the advantages of possessing one year non-immigrant O over 90 days non-immigrant O visa if a wp is issued based on each as both of them are getting extended based on the wp anyway.
  8. Yes, it can. I have submitted the WP application today. However, I don't know what are the benefits of 1 year MENO in comparison with 90 days MENO when applying for a WP. WP can be issued on both and latter the visa is just getting extended based on the employment so paying for 1 year MENO 5000 THB instead of applying for 90 days MENO and paying 2000 baht may have been a wrong decision in my case.
  9. Nope. I got the money on my bank account on 31st October and updated the bank book the same day in Kasikorn Bank. I copied the whole bank book and took the original with me. That was all. The money wasn't seasoned. I have a child so I gave them the child's birth certificate and blue book to back up my visa application beside submittingmy marriage certificate and wife'sdocuments. Additionally, I gave them the KR 2 document that is normally not required. They took this all. I didn't have a letter from my bank. Hopefully, this helps.
  10. Guys, I received one year non-immigrant O visa today. Please look at my previous post in this thread for financial proof details I have submitted. Let me know if you have any questions and I will respond. Cheers!
  11. You are welcome. Yes, I have copied all the pages. You prepare all you have and they take what they need
  12. Guys, the latest report from Savannakhet: I submitted the documentation for non-immigrant O visa based on marriage today at 9:15am. I also provided my child's birth certificate and copy of tabian ban as well as KR2 paper and it was taken by the immigration officer. When I said I would like to apply for one year non-immigrant O visa, she immediately said I needed financial requirements proved. She accepted the copies of my bank book and also had a detailed look at my original bank book. That was all. The money wasn't seasoned but was transfered to my bank account yesterday. I think I should receive my visa tomorrow and I not, I will inform you here.
  13. I think he can but I guess it wouldn't be worth paying so much as he would need to travel quite a lot and he wouldn't do it for free. He is my neighbor and by surprise a very diligent guy when comparing with locals. He keeps his word and comes to help me if I need to move some heavy stuff around my house. He and his wife run a shop and he drives for Grab in the evenings but also has some private tours. I remember he once told me he preferred to drive longer trips but not the short ones in the city because driving in the city is a huge hassle for small money. If you are still interested, let me know here and I will send you a message as there is a direct message option on this forum. Three of us can meet online and you estimate if there is a value for you as well as for him.
  14. There is a guy in my neighborhood. He lives in Nonthaburi. Send me a DM and I can connect two of you to check if you are compatible
  15. Is a copy of the bank book sufficient for the funds proof or I need to ask for a letter from my bank?
  16. Once you get a non-immigrant visa, you can apply for the WP based on that. Then every year when you are renewing your WP, you will get one year visa extension. I know this sounds weird but this is how it works. For example, I had a 3 months valid non-immigrant B visa and got a WP based on it. I didn't leave the country for 5 years as when my WP got renewed, my non-immigrant B 3 months valid visa got extended and this was taking for 5 years. Now I want to go out of the country and apply for non-immigrant O marriage visa and come back to Thailand and apply for the WP based on it.
  17. Going there to apply on next Wednesday. Have all the docs ready. Married with Thai wife and have our child. Have 400 000k but not seasoned. Will apply for non-immigrant O marriage in order to apply for a work permit when I am back in Thailand. Will report back here once I am back. Just a question, if I don't get non-immigrant O one year visa but non-immigrant O 90 days, can I apply for the work permit on that one too?
  18. According to my knowledge, you need to cancel it in an immigration office in Thailand and then you leave the country.
  19. ... and I assume that if I choose the option of 60 days extension I can't apply for the work permit. Correct? I am asking this because I already have a new employer that wants me to start working on 1st November and he will have the WP documentation ready by then.
  20. Am I not eligible to receive 3 months valid non-immigrant O visa based on the marriage with a Thai citizen and make a work permit based on it? We also have a child. Should I apply for non-immigrant O visa based on my child and apply for the WP based on it? What is the best option?
  21. Ehh I see. Thank you very much. So the only correct and safe way would be as follows: 1. To wait for my employer to cancel the WP on 31st October 2. To go to immigration to cancel my non-immigrant B visa on 31st October and to apply for 7 day extension 3. To travel to Laos on 1st November to submit the application for non-immigrant O visa If the steps above are correct, is there a possibility to avoid paying for 7 days extension and thus avoiding paying 1900thb but as soon as my visa gets cancelled, I immediately travel to Laos and across the border the very same day and then on 1st November apply for the non-immigrant O visa in Thai embassy there early in the morning? I can pay 1900thb for the 7 days extension but why would I do that if I don't have to ... also I can ask my employer we go together to cancel the WP and non-immigrant B visa together early morning on 31st October so I have enough time to across Thai boarder and arrive to Laos.
