It's not an IQ question.

I am a senior in good health and spirit.
I have a Living Will with my much younger TGF as executor.
She is also the sole inheritor of my bank accounts so I have hammered in her that if some very bad health or accident happened to me the more she would let me vegetate on ventilation and other life-saving treatments with no hope to get back to a normal life and at great cost by a greedy hospital the less she would get from my bank account when I go.
I have also bought a new house in her name which is going to be my "senior home".
We can live reasonably comfortably on my pension so she has no immediate benefit in terminating soon her ATM's life !!
She'll get all the money anyway when I die.
Do you not have any kids? Any relative back in your home country? If so are they happy with this arrangement? They could say that you have gone insane!
I find this situation very sad - basically having a much younger woman staying with you purely for money.

Because they are scared, full of fear and unwilling to admit their country is a has been empire.
Scared people like to point the finger at something else to make themselves feel better.

In my case, I knew for a long time that I should stop drinking, I was developing acid reflux and was puking twice or more a week. Financially, I used up all my savings and realised that if I didn't stop I would have to go back home where I would be much better off financially but still have a drinking problem. During a 10 day stay back home my step-granddaughter started sending me messages in English (for the first time) everyday asking when I was coming back, she missed me and sloppy stuff like that. I had a last beer on the plane back and that was the last drink, 131 days ago (yes I have a count up program on my PC). Now I actually have money at the end of the month and am saving, life has improved.
What it comes down to, as far as I am concerned: knowing you should stop isn't enough, you need to be 100% convinced that you need to, for whatever reason.
Cheers!
That's great, well done "cooked".

Not loyal and no respect to anyone here.
I could live anywhere and will do if I suddenly decide.
People work for me in so many countries, so it's so easy to relocate anywhere where I won't pay any tax also.
Be true to yourself and leave then.
Wow, no respect to anyone in whole country.

Thailand has been very good to me since I made the big move in 1985.
After being here so long and raising 4 half cast kids , it's nearly time for me to search for some more excitement in my life.
The world is a big place and when I retire, I want to see it.
Although applying to be a naturalized citizen, part of me is always reminded that I am never accepted here and often disrespected due to my skin colour..
I little bothy in the Scottish highlands sounds nice to me for 6 months a year.

So how to give up drinking could turkey
I gave up smoking doing this how you do Drinking?
It depends how much and for how long you have been drinking.
It did it many times with a few valium. It would take me a couple of days before I could eat anything. The valium should only be used for a few days.
Also, glucolin was very useful - pure glucose powder to put in all drinks.

I'd normally not reply to a thread such as this... However, I've been drinking !!!....
I enjoyed dinner tonight with friends, I had a bottle of wine (we each did)... we returned to my place... I have a number of different bottles of Whisky, so I opened two... In two hours I had 1 glass of each (probably less than a shot)... I didn't like the second so I didn't finish it....
I had a good night, I enjoyed the Wine, I enjoyed the food and I enjoyed a Whisky..... I don't feel I was drunk, however, I most definitely would not have chosen to drive...
Am I a normal drinker ?....... I've no idea... I don't care if I drink more or less than others, I don't care what is considered normal..... I do care if my drinking effects others negatively....
Normal drinkers don't post how much they had to drink on internet forums at 2 am in the morning.

It's amazing the tricks alcohol playing on our logical thinking so we feel it's ok to have drink a lot.

If I could drink normally, I'd get drunk every night.
Of course your relatives who are damaging their health and unable to stop are not normal drinkers. They sound like normal alcoholics to me.

Whoever I lent my Jimmy White 1983 Benson and Hedges Masters cue to 15 years ago in Bangkok please return it.

Oh god another old salt nice one for slipping it in. But unfortunately your !!!3 decades seem to have nullified your thinking process as well as your knowledge of Thailand in my opinion of course.
Not sure what your problem is but I can guess.
So clever one, how many Thai girls with farang boyfriends in Pattaya have never been on the game?
A percentage please. I'll stick to 98%.

You would estimate would you, well it must be right then love to know if you had a dream with those figures in it. Another typical farang type (non) logical theory then
Thanks for sharing.
No dream, just working here for over three decades gives me a little insight.

I think everyone is missing the big point. How did she get 400K in the bank account? But I am sure that the OP knows the answer.
She is currently unemployed, meaning she usually has a job.
What job do Thai women in Pattaya (with foreign boyfriends) have? I'd estimate that 98% work/have worked in the sex industry.

In 31 years here, I've never met a "Pattaya-type person" to take advice from others even if it is so bloody obvious to us others.

I pay 25000 baht per year for the lawyer to get all paperwork together for my Non-B extension including all company paperwork in order etc. Then it's 6000 per year for the work permit. Can't have one without the other.
Wow, what a rip off

If you met her in Pattaya, don't even entertain the thought of buying her a car.
How long have you known her?

Working at Walmart is allot different than working at Starbucks...frankly, I doubt the typical Thai girl could hack working at either workplace; and not because they're not hardworking but because of the language and workplace culture issues. That's why most Thais in foreign countries end up working for other Thais.
OMG someone in Pattaya telling us what a typical Thai girl is like.

you do need a Thai Guarantor to get finance to buy a car
Not always the case though about getting finance. I know I needed a Thai when getting a mortgage but I can't remember needing one when getting finance for a car.
