  1. Taken her to her parents home in the car and then gone on home myself.

Each time we arrive at her parents house it is a quick exit and 'goodnight'.

Now, my confusion is in the fact she will not let me kiss her, I tried twice and have not done so since.

From this, it seems you tried to kiss her in the car. Am I guessing it right ?

If so, then the obvious answer I see is that "classic" thai girls never kiss in places where other people could see them... So kisses only in your room, try to bring her there and let the magic happens... :D

(sorry if this point has already been brought in the topic, I quickly passed most of answers :o )

  2. How is this?

As far as I know thai farm workers aren't overpaid yet. So, where this lots of extra cost coming from then? :D

    Answer in the article :

Kingkorn said farmers were trying to improve garlic yields by using fertilizers and chemicals, but this affected quality.

This is a classic quality vs quantity battle... And as usually, quantity wins... :o

  3. Last time I extended my visa & my WP, the "checking" lady (the one we have a little chat with) asked me if I had the report slipper, after she had noticed it wasn't in my passport. She was clearly expecting that I didn't have it, and seemed pleasantly surprised when I took it from my wallet...

As far as I can tell, I guess it wouldn't have be a big problem if I didn't have it with me...

  4. Koh Samed is back to 200b ..? :D

Good news, 400b to visit garbage dumping sites was a bit overrated... :D

Me, I'm fine to pay a low fee (up to 200B), but I'd like to be more sure that the fee is actually going to help to preserve the park...

And paying more than Thai is also ok, I have seen a lot worst rip off... :o

  5. The locks are often easy to force, but the point is that the thiefs don't have the extra-time nor want to catch attention. Your bags don't stay much time in their hands before entering plane.

I got a webcam and a nice knife stolen like this, when departed from Don Muang, several years ago. After, I just used some thin cord or electric cable to "lock" my bad, and it worked (and of course, I didn't put anything too much valuable... :o )

  6. this is a little confusing - does this apply only to carry-on's? i wear contact lens and the bottles of solution are over 100 ml - also it would appear that i can no longer bring back a bottle of wine or spirits unless i buy it at King Power

u'll have to buy a small bottle for ur lens, and put ur wine in the main suitcase that will go to the bottom of the plane.

  7. I dont want to spend shit loads of money. So thats why i am going for the ASUS stated. That way i can use my existing RAM and also the CPU if i wish. That way saving myself money that i dont really have.

but buying a socket 939 MoBo today is a lost of money. There's almost no CPU s939 anymore, and they are really not the most powerful ones, nor the best quality/price value rate.

Your 8800GTS will be under-loaded coz the Amd 3000+ won't be powerful enough for it.

So I say again like 1st time : buy a 7600GT to patient 1 more year, and on next year, if you have a bit more money, buy a Core 2 duo PC (or maybe the new Amd CPUs will be great as well), it'll be a lot more balanced and scalable configuration.

And it looks like you plan to buy MB + CPU + RAM , so the only thing you'd lose would be your current 1GB of ram.

  8. Does this look ok?

    nope..!

Nowadays, the best quality/price is on Intel side with the Core duo.

    So aim for :

MB : Asus P5B-Plus Vista Edition or Asus P5B Deluxe

    CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo E4300, E6420, or E6600

RAM: 2x1GB Corsair or GEIL or Kingston or G.Skill Extreme ( total = 2GB )

    3D card: u got it good => Geforce 8800 GTS 320MB

  9. All I am saying is if you upgrade now, in about a year you may feel outdated all over again as your CPU, RAM, and motherboard will all be stuck behind a generation again LOL.

And if you buy during next year, then in 2 years, u'll feel stuck behind a generation as well... That's computers... :o

  10. it's not very easy, but if you know how to use a screwdriver, and look for a tutorial on Internet (with pictures), and if you are a a bit patient as well, there are really low chances you won't be able to do it... :o

But be sure to read a tutorial, and to understand how to apply thermal paste. (google for it)

  11. Can i buy an AMD Athlon 3500 processor and put it into my main board that i have? Then also buy the 7800GT card and then 1GB RAM. Will this speed my PC up greatly? BTW I'm in OZ now and not LOS.

If your MB is really a "K8N Neo 2 Platinum Edition" then it has a 939 socket.

Most Athlon 64 are on AM2 socket now.

You may find some previous version for 939 socket, but they're a bit more expensive.

If you want to try this, you could aim for a AMD Athlon 64 4000+ s939 which is at a decent price in France (around USD130), and then add the Gecube X1950XT AGP, and 1GB of good RAM.

It'll be an expensive upgrade, but your PC should be quite powerful.

Although, with so much changes, and so much money spent, you should really consider to change your MB as well, and then buy a Core2 Duo CPU (for example the E4400 or the E6600) + a 8600GTS or a 8800GTS. It'll be a more wise & perennial purchase.

PS: the 7800GT is a PCI card ; the Agp version is only the 7800GS, and it's far behind the X1950XT AGP, and just a bit better than the 7600GT AGP which is really less expensive.

  12. Hello Jockstar,

your current CPU won't get the most of the latest Gecube X1950XT (and anyway u may not find it in Thailand), and it's not coz of AGP.

I know what I'm talking about, I just bought it..! :D

So, I have 2 PCs. My "old" AGP PC is a P4c 2.6ghz which is quite more powerful than your AMD 1.8ghz (at very least 30%).

Increasing its speed to 2.92ghz increased the result of the 3Dmark05 benchmark by ~10%, up to ~6100 from 5600, so my new 3D card is clearly limited by my CPU (hopefully, not much when the CPU is at 2.92ghz).

My new PCI PC is an Amd 64 3500+, with a NVidia 7800GT card.

Its score with 3dMark05 is 5100 ; increasing the CPU speed by 10% didn't change the score, therefore the 7800GT card is not limited by the CPU.

So thanks to the brand new X1950XT, my "old" AGP PC is about 20% better than the "new" PCI one.

Both PCs are coupled with 2x512GB of Corsair CAS2 RAM.

So here what you should do : buy a 7600GT (the GT is quite important !) AGP card for about 6800b (for example, here : http://www.busitek.com/forms/pricelist.html ).

With it, you'll be able to run current games on medium settings, and 1-year old games on high settings, and 2+ year old games on very high settings, on resolution of 1024x768 or even 1280x960.

Don't buy an additional 1GB now, save this money, and save the money from the X1950XT to buy a Core2 Duo CPU on next year, with new RAM/3D card as well.

    I hope it helps... :o

  13. Hello,

I just want to report I'm just back from Penang, where I got a single entry tourist visa (not possible to get 2 or 3 entries), and got stamped back my 60 days at the airport in Bkk...

And I'm Thailand since 2 years, mostly on tourist visa, but the last 26 previous days have been spent on a VOA (from Cambodia).

All of this without special problem... (except the usual delay of AirAsia : 30 min on the outward journey, 2 hours on the return... :o )

  14. When I arrived in Thailand, at 1st, I had really hard times to eat spicy.

I used several times "mai phet" (not spicy), but usually, the result was a dish more spicy than when I said "phet nid noi" (a bit spicy). And I'm pretty sure the cookers or waiters understood me.

PeaceBlondie, about "not spicy at all", realthaideal is right. I didn't know how to say that in thai, but my gf did a few times, and the result was really a dish not spicy at all (and not really aroy as well... :o )
