  1. Assuming you want the Military Surplus shop and not the Military Depot.

It is at "Coffee War" on 331 on the right close to the Highway 7 junction. Cannot miss it as it has a Airbus A330 and several other aircraft you can walk around.

The same company also has a shop, on the left, going south on Sukhumvit almost opposite Ocean marina.

Thanks to all. I’m still confused cos about 12 yrs ago I quit a “top 3” university and retired on the extension. When the university asked me to return p-t 6 months later they took me to a small room in San Phlu and changed me back to 0 in 3 minutes, but I did need to go to the Labor Office the next day.

20 years ago, as a newbie, a respected southern university commanded me to head to Penang asap to get a real 0 instead of my 60 or 90 day tourist visa from Gibraltar. Luckily I turned that place down and went to Bkk where my new HRD said “rubbish” and got me all pukka in 4 hours.

To this day, I still wonder why some guys have to go to Penang or Hcm (I know Pinoys have to) while others don’t. Btw I’m a Brit.

I guess some guys comply with the laws and others pay agents.

As I am sure you know, that does happen from time to time.

  3. I had to go to Singapore to change my O tourist visa too B work visa.

Had to pay for visa, flights and hotel myself. Was not cheap.

Not sure about current insurance requirements coming back in on B Visa.

Then at the end of it all, you have to leave Thailand within 7 days of your employment ending (or be on overstay) to convert back to O or OA before returning and starting the retirement procedure all over again all at your own cost.

  4. Mr Jack second watch shop down on the right from Soi Buakow & Pattaya Klang intersection.

He has got replacement parts for my Brightling and at a fraction of the cost of the official shops in Bangkok (no you cannot get fake part for Brightling). He can fix anything.

He will provide all proof of the part and give you the part he replaced.

Replacement battery 110 baht regardless of make.

Exception was my Seiko Kinetic, 15 years old which required a replacement accumulator, like a battery but more expensive.

  5. I am, reluctantly, having to move back to my home country. First step is to put my house in Pattaya on the market.

Can anyone confirm what is a reasonable percentage I should be paying an agent?

  6. You could feed a lot of the animals at this zoo. One of the highlights for children was that twice a day the keeper had a big bucket of fish which he would distribute to the children and the penguins would run up to the kids for their fish dinner. Great fun. My personal favourites were feeding the Rinos and Giraffes, but most of all feeding the otters at 20 Baht (US 0.60c) a time it is hardly a cash cow.

No one paid to feed the penguins, it was just all part of the fun day out.

  7. IF you are an existing BHP patient ONLY and over 60 and/or with pre existing conditions

Phone 1719 and tell them you want to receive the AZ vaccine.

U need to give them your Hospital No. & Passports No.

They will give u a date and time for your vaccination which is free.

After U receive your first dose they will give U a time & date for your 2nd dose.

  8. They have the sticky paper traps in Mr DIY.

The different traps have pictures of what they are used for. Flies, mice, rats and there is even one with an elephant on it.

  9. Hi Folks

I am trying to find the hard wired GPS installed in my Fortuner so that I can remove the sim card to extend Sim validity.

Unfortunately the shop where I bought the GPS has closed and I have no idea where they have put it. Tried looking under the dash on the drivers side (where they plug the computer in) and behind the glove compartment (where the AC filter is).

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks

  10. Anybody else noticed that signing into shops with the app or book is no longer enforced.

Mackro security was just letting the Thais walk in unchecked yesterday. But of course they stopped me to make sure the dirty farang had logged in with his phone.

Same in Foodland today. Everyone just walks in. almost got pushed out of the way because I stopped to log in.
